Fastest Way To Shiny Hunt The Swords of Justice In Pokemon Sword & Shield: Crown Tundra! Location Guide For Virizion, Terrakion, Cobalion + Keldeo ★ In this video I will be going over the fastest way to shiny hunt the Swords of Justice in Pokemon Sword & Shield: The Crown Tundra
This guide also covers each location for all 3 Swords of Justice (Virizion, Terrakion, Cobalion) + Keldo. Even though Keldo is shiny locked, I wanted to include it in this video, since it is a bonus to catching all 3 Swords of Justice.
Sadly, these Pokemon are also classified under "static encounters" and do not benefit from the KO method in terms of increased shiny odds.

In case anybody was curious; if you transfer the swords from another game, they do not count toward being able to summon Keldeo. You actually have to catch the ones in the game.

sometimes i go back to this video while i gruelingly hunt for my shiny virizion (I'm currently 15,547 soft resets in), and I'm glad you included the shiny virizion soft reset example because videos like those keep me delusionally hopeful.

Idk if you have the charm or bad luck but if you set the reset point wrong for virizion you will be resetting the same one. (You can test this by catching it in like a master ball checking the stats then turning the game off and catching another one if everything’s the same your not resetting the virizion)a garunteed way is to encounter it then run away from virizion then saving on the spot. When you load back in a new virizion will load in because it was never there. (I reset the same virizion a couple hundred times by mistake hope this helps )

Quick correction. You don't need to camp to reset the spawn if you want to soft reset. Simply saving and closing and reopening the came resetns the spawn on its own.

You can actually KO the Swords of Justice. Open camp on top of the spawn point and they will in fact respawn when you exit the camp. I’ve KOd Virizion 600 times lol. 😅

I tried out the Soft resetting after saving and exiting camp method for Cobalion. I did 1200 resets then I decided to check if the IVs are the same after a reset and they are the same. Therefore, I think after you exit camp the pokemon’s ivs and shinyness is already set by the code. So sadly, I wasted 1200 resets after following one of the methods. I do not want anyone to experience the trouble I experienced so I suggest just staying on top of the spot of the soj after running away from it. Then, you can start soft-resetting. I’ve watched a video from VinnyInTheLab and his method which I suggested in the comment works as I have checked the Ivs from the 2 soft-resets myself. Thank you for reading this. If you save after closing camp just before the pokemon spawns it will always be the same pokemon no matter how many times you reset because it's already been loaded in. If you want to reset hunt them just save on it's spawn position after knocking it out/running away without camping. You'll know if it's a different pokemon if when you load in it grows from the floor (you could also catch a few and check stats if you want). If it's already there when you load in with a ? Above its head then it's the same pokemon and you might have done something wrong. Hope this helps

Another way you could do it is by going to virizion running away and then saving on the spot. This way when you load in the game a new virizion automatically spawns. I tried this method for soft resetting and if you save too slow you will be resetting the same virizion as it loads too quickly into the spot. Just a way to take the speed of the save out of the equation I caught the virizion with master balls to be sure and reset. It will give you the same Pokémon if you can see virizion when you save at all you will not be getting new virizion.

For future viewers. There are at least 100 comments of people saying that killing it is the best method. Please dont mind these. A "static encounter" is an encounter in which a specific pokemon is guaranteed to be encountered. Like the regis, swords of justice and so on. Its a pokemon that is programmed to be in a specific spot and spawn specifically every time. These static encounters are coded differently. Data mines have shown that the KO chaining method does NOT increase shiny odds for these encounters. So don't waste your time guys. You already have enough time to use up shiny hunting them. if you SR these pokemon it's nature and IVs are predetermined. I tested it 3 times and I got always the same nature and the same stats. so you can optimize your shiny perfectly if you want to. the stats will be randomized after you run away and use poke camp. good luck at all your hunts!

Leaving camp and then saving saves the pokemon which means your encountering the exact same pokemon over and over again so it won't be shiny. If you do want to soft reset hunt get rid of the pokemon, then save on the spawn position without into camp then reset. Hope this helps

This isn't true as if its stats are predetermined, so is it being shiny or not. If you don't save the game quick enough and the stats do end up predetermined when SRing, It being shiny is also predetermined.

Does the save at the encounter spot method really work? I tested a few times and caught the Pokémon that appeared with that method and the nature and IVs were always the same and I heard the shininess is also predetermined with the nature and stats. Am I just not saving fast enough after camp? I try saving as fast as possible but I feel like I’m always a second too late

I know other people already said this in the comments, but i want to emphasize it so nobody ends up wasting their time like i and others have, so for anyone who wants to do SR method, after you run/knockout the any of the swords of justice, DO NOT CAMP BEFORE SAVING, just find where they spawn, stand there and save, AGAIN NO CAMPING NEEDED, and it will be a different one each time. If you save after the camp and soft reset it, know that it might be the same one and you may never find the shiny bc it won’t change. I’ve checked it by catching it and checking the stats before resetting so runaway method is more likely to be faster and more effective.

You can also edit the menu to make the camping option go on the top left of the menu screen so you don't have to carefully select it.

I get now why the k.o. method doesnt work - because its programmed that static encounters always has the same (except with the shiny-charm) -, but the k.o. method has 2 others not bad points: you get a lot of experience points (with the lucky egg evenmore) and you get Effort values. It has lower cost then use items or bonbons for it. Cobalion: 3 defens evs Terrakion: 3 Attack evs Virizion: 3 special-defens evs Regirock: 3 defens evs Regice: 3 special-defens evs Registeel: 2 defens evs & 1 special-defens ev

Happened the same to me with Articuno, apparently if you save in front of them they are already nature and IV locked. You need to force them to a new spawn, be it by leaving the area or using pokecamp

If you're playing the physical version of the game it may well be faster to go into the camp as that version takes longer to boot and load than running from an SD card. Depending on what SD card you're using, you can actually get slightly faster times from the download version than what's shown in this video too, as mine is almost 4 seconds faster.

the running away method is going to be faster due to shiny odds based on encounters. Essentially, everytime you encounter a pokemon the odds of it being a shiny become better. The exact graph Encounters / Odds without shiny charm / Odds with shiny charm 50 1/2048 1/1024 100 1/1365 1/819 200 1/1024 1/682 300 1/819 1/585 500 1/682 1/512 So the more encounters you have with the pokemon the better your odds are of catching it, so running away does become technically faster by increasing your chances of it being shiny after so many encounters

This is normally the case with wild spawns, except the Swords of Justice are static encounters and don't benefit from that increase.

I don’t know how I got lucky, but I got a square shiny Cobalion in only 25 attempts and Virizion in 42 attempts (unfortunately the hail made Virizion faint...) anybody know if I I got insanely lucky or are their odds altered due to a bug? Or something?

Hello!!! Enjoyed your video just want to make sure I’m understanding lol. So basically wether you run and use camping method or use ko and soft reset the odds are the same? So I can run and camp and the odds will be the same as if I ko’d and soft reset? Cause I’ve been knocking them out so much so my birds are almost at lvl 100 and my Lunala is now lvl 100🤦🏽‍♀️. Yes, so because they are static encounters. Your shiny odds will be the same. Meaning that it is more ideal to use the camping method or SR compared to KO method. Although some people prefer to use KO method, despite it being slower. Either way, your odds will be the same each encounter.

ok so i saved before encountering terrakion, encountered it and it wasnt shiny, so i reset the game, but i caught two and compared stats and they where the same, so is the stats supposed to be the same every time or am i doing something wrong

Dataminer Matt on Twitter has confirmed that the KO method doesn't affect static encounter like them. Beating them 500 times won't change anything

Just caught shiny virizion using the camping method. The camping method time is quite wrong actually if you time everything correctly its way off. I averaged 2.75 encounters ever minute. With the camping/run away method.

You don't need to save, but you can. It won't change your shiny odds since they are static encounters

Virizon is the easiest just collect her foot prints along with cobalion and terakion. 50 foot steps are link with cobalion and terakion in the grassy area about 24% terakion and 32% cobalion

Speed is kinda irrelevant to shiny hunting, it's more the odds that matter, and if you want good odds just do dynamax adventures, it's a 1/300 without shiny charm and a 1/100 with it

@@jvbon646 my point still stands that speed is irrelevant to this problem especially since it's legendary pokemon that aren't in raids meaning you're gonna have to resort to full odds hunting anyways which would be 1/4096 without shiny charm and 1/2048 with it.

Speed IS relevant though. You'll roll more sixes in an hour if you can roll 100 dice in that hour instead of just 60 dice, after all.

I got shiny Lycanroc in Dynamax den, first encounter with the Pokemon in SwSh. I was wondering why it's blue and not the usual light brown color, silly me I thought it's a regional variant Got a Shiny Relicanth in Dynamax adventures maybe after fighting 6 legendaries Just the other day I got myself a shiny Aerodactyl from Dynamax den, just first encounter also and not multiple attempts. And just now somebody wonder traded me a Shiny Terakion, legal shiny or course Why do I always get shiny Rock types?
