dope track by fat joe & preem, off of his upcomin' album "the darkside vol. 1", droppin' july 27th, peace to djpremierblog.com for providin' this track, rest in peace guru
@@andreajackson5942 it's well known. I think Fat Joe said it in an interview. Maybe even Preemo himself. But what FlyElroy is saying is true. I remember when this joint came out. Can't believe it's already been 10 years.
@@tochiRTA man we are getting old. I miss this track. Had it constant reply after Guru passed and Joe dropped this. I feel like we will never see that era again. The 2nd era
Henny Lopez definitely my g, I miss the days of DITC and him spittin with Pun, he went off on Five Fingaz of Death with Big L and the whole DITC crew #respect #restinbeatsL&Pun
@@christophermcgrady6962 Wtf? Did you even bother listening to the song? He shouts Guru out multiple times on this song. "Preemo on the beat yeah I know it sounds different but his man just passed, yeah his soul's just risen" "Tell Nas hip-hop's dead now, my man's gone" "No More Mr. Nice Guy, pay me" "Guru RIP. Now I can officially say hip-hop is dead." On top of that, the beat was made the day Guru passed. And Joe did multiple interviews promoting this album talking about how surreal it was recording this song with Preemo in the studio right after his death and how Gang Starr is his favorite rap group of all time, and recounting all his memories touring with and hanging out with Guru and Premier. The song is basically dedicated to Guru.
I always loved how he said "Azariah I love you baby!" 5:34 There's so much soul in that nugget right there. and the way the beat 'pauses' for the Guru moment at the end, then the drums come back for that last boom bap bang. Chilling stuff.
I love this joint , this is Joe's lane where he can build back his credibility , I think his commercial success left him in no man's land for a while WELCOME BACK
Joe should of say( the Reality'' I say the word nigga now everybody is mad at me'') WTF people always looking for something to hate..Joe grew up in the Bronx surrounded by Blacks and PRicans..RIP GURU a true soldier in the game and RIP PUN The Beast.
b4ld018 you got it exactly right my friend, and because everyone understands this that’s why he’s given a pass to say it, might not seem fair but it’s the way it is.
This joint is tough! I wish he kicked more than one verse though. People forget how long Fat Joe's been in the game. I remember I seen him on Fordham Rd (you know where that is if you've been in the Bronx) back in the days.
Remember Guru sang in France in my neighborhood just one week before dj premier came too, it was sad to see them separate...some time later guru died...i'll never forget this year 2010 and this song...RIP Guru
Dj Premier is the best at the 4bar loop. He has perfected it. Back to the Flow JOe One thing though, he should have made the whole album hardcore. Like niggas did back in the 90's before album politics came into play and before you were concerned with radio-friendly songs.
GGAAADDAMN! THIS SHIT HAS TO BE ONE OF THE CRAZIEST FAT JOE SONGS I'VE EVER HEARD. YA BOY JOE BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE ROOTS FOR REAL, B. THIS SHIT IS HAARRRRD!
