Fatal1ty Shuts Out Zero4 in Quake 3 Tournament p1 

if this gets to Fatal1ty, my dad is Sillyphuck. He was one of the only people to EVER beat Fatal1ty. He placed 12th place in quakecon 2000. My dad had got him 1 out of 10.

Gosh it must be 19 or 20 years ago when Fat would occasionally hit my server (ASWP Prime). He'd come in, and just annihilate the whole clan and then leave after a round. Never got to know him. I miss the old days. Now I'm old.

This person doesn't just Shoot and run. He hunts, looks,Listens, picks the weapon(s) in a split second. The weapon he picks is appropriate for the distance and for MAX damage. I've seen "Fatality" Years ago at a live convention. Some said they will get 1 or 2 points.. NONE of them received any! He's not only smart but also a GREAT competitor ! ! !

Fatal1ty was to Q3 as Thresh was to Quake.

Theres nothing too special with his killing style, it was the way he seemed to know exactly where his opponent was that made him so legendary at this game.

I've always admired how fatal1ty used to play back then. Was this the grand final match of that QuakeCon 2002?

Zero4 and Fatal1ty is my favourites. They are both AMAZING players!

They are using the standard bunnyhop trick, it's real easy to learn. Watching this video, i can see Fatal1ty's strategy, he controls the main power-ups, so it stops his opponent from getting them so he can kill them easier

There are different versions of the maps. You probably have the standard version of dm6, you will need to download a map pack with all the other maps. Also get the latest point release if you haven't already.

Carmark enhine used to run so smooth in any kind of budget pc of the time, i miss those days where you didnt need a high end pc to play a decent fps.

That one lucky time for Fatality when ZeRo4 was completely out of shape, dunno what happened to him that day, but looked like he woke up on the wrong side of the bed... I remember this tournament, ZeRo4 was way stronger than Fat those days.

All of them. Research it.. IW has been using a modified Quake 3 engine since COD.. upgrading minor things as we go, but it's still the Q3 Engine.

@Whaaaaaaattt Why aren't you taking part in any quakelive tourneys? It's easy to trashtalk behind the internet but zero4 still plays occasionally. If you're as good as you say you are, you should be winning quakecons. Zero4 is a 3 time quakecon champion.

BF is no 'console game'. It was nice of them to port it over though, for people who want to play as if they are wearing mittens (lol...controller). I get your point though, there is no comparison. BF is extremely fun if you are playing with a good team. Quake is just its own league.

@DrKr0wbar Zero4 was offpeak in 2002. Zero4 is considered THE greatest q3 player, not fatal1ty. Zero4 owned fatal1ty in 2001.

The Rapha vs Cooller matches look more intense and skill-based than this. Then again this was back in 2002.

@tnoble711 you should try quakelive, since all others are out of the competing world, except CPM (anyone correct me if i'm wrong). Game is almost exact as quake 3 with some minor differences. go to quakelive com

well he got the mega off the spawn and the second red armor so basically the match was over at that point on DM 6. Nothing special here. I'd like to see these two on bloodrun.

@thewitcher1990 they're pro:) in fact every mid skilled q3 player can do that.. it just takes a little practice :) and now in quakelive it's even easier to perform jumps like that

I wouldn't reproach anyone of playing it safe in a big event for 1st place and cash prizes... It costs them money to go to these tournaments. You've got hotel fees, airplane ticket fees, food etc. Regardless if someone has a sponsor or not that helps them, if you spend cash to join these tournaments, I'd be playing it safe to earn it back too.
