I just started my second play through of MHW+Iceborn after 1 year break and MHR+ sunbreak. Last time i only played Sniper HBG or Gunlance, but this time I am full comitting to CB. I didnt manage to kill Fatalis even once solo and had no friends to play with so I really want to beat it this time and man let me say, this video is a great boost of confidence! HBG (without the smoke bomb spread abuse that was a thing back then) just isnt the best weapon to fight fatalis solo and Gunlance always felt to cluncy for me to handle such a fast pace heavy hit monster like fatalis. But savage axe CB feels increadibly smooth and your show of skill just goes to show, that you dont have to be a frame perfect LS main to beat fatalis solo in a fast time. You got hit/blocked stuff which is still human and not god tier like peppo, but its what makes this run so much more relateable. I hope I can use Fatalis down times after wallsmash and his tripple breath as good as you do once I get there! Just one question: At what build level should I reasonably start/try a fatalis run, that wont cost me my lifes sanity cause I die so fast or do 0 dmg? I am currently at the end of highrank and will farm some more decos and all the important charms and then continue to MR, so I still have time but I honestly cant wait to try but I dont wanna get frustrated again like last time. (Especially since last time I tryed about 80-100 times with all different kinds of "meta" MR HBG pierce/elemental/spread builds or just clutchclaw etc etc and still didnt get it
I'd say wait untill you get the best armour you can get (which is probably gonna be enraged brachy) get those decos to have good dmg (around 100% crit crit boost and agitator pumped up at least) benediction is a strong saviour on fatty, it will save your butt, evade window as well. Get MR 100 so you can get health augmentations and maybe augment your armour for more defense, and finally get good. I'm not saying this in a mean way, it's just that no matter how optimal your set is, if you can't properly dodge and understand what you can get away with every of his attack with all your options, you won't get it. I killed fatalis with almost every weapon for a total of 134 times and honestly gunlance, HBG (as you stated), and charge blades aren't good matchups for him, it's a shame since you plan to use charge blade. You can definitely get it with savage axe, saed style is not so good however. If you want a weapon to learn him well I'd say go with great sword, it will allow you to learn a lot about positioning and timing, and it will translate with other weapons. Are you playing on steam? I could give you a hand.
@@undertaker2766 Finished Fatalis with savage axe a few weeks after my comments. took me 13 tries until i got it, but after that i managed to get him a few times in about 26min with only 1 cart. CB really isnt the best matchup but its fine. and in multiplayer is freaking insane with savage axe. Still thanks for the comment
@@drsira7248 good job, thing is savage axe is not great in multiplayer as you'll send teammates flying with your bread and butter combo. Once you get fatalis gears he's a lot easier. I like to go Ith vellhana Y+ Armor for frost craft and a GS or hammer
You are guaranteed only 1 evil eye as quest reward if you break the head twice, carving evil eyes is a roll of dice and you may kill fatalis 4 or 5 times without getting even one. I speak from experience. Edit: I looked it up and it's a 8% chance when carving.
He didn’t use any SAEDs so the extra artillery wouldn’t have added to his damage. The little ticks you see impact phials do are not “explosions” while the big bursts during SAED are. You can see he also used power prolonged instead of focus because he used savage axe rather than SAED spam.
@@Painted_J i like raw damage weapon u can customize any build just remember artilery always put on build if didnt elemantal phial.. nice run... see you next video...
I got you covered bro mhwbuilds.net/charge-blade-guide/ This is the charge Blade bible with guides and builds for every skill level and story progression
@@shen5639 To see how it'd be using equipment available only at the point you're fighting the monster, like a challenge speedrun. Different speedrun categories exist for other games and it's just something else that's interesting thing to watch. I like watching big numbers, too, don't get me wrong, but I see these all the time.
Any siege weaponery can knock him down after a set amount of damage is dealt, which he did with the roaming ballista, but didn't activate because Fatalis was on an attack animation. The single shot was in order to trigger the knock down
Try going on an expedition with a safijijva set, then on the same expedition enter the tent and change to 4 piece fatty. Tell me if you get the health bonus
