As strong as Safi was, he is nothing compared to the excitable A lister, who survived Fatalis’ nova without a scratch.

Seems like Safi is the only Monster that can bring Fatalis down to 49% health, since he can regenerate the first Sea of Flames. What an intense fight.

Knowing that most elders dragons don't look like a coventional dragon. This vid feels more like a Dragons Dogma or a Middle earth battle than a Monster hunter one.

The fact that Safis AI seems unable to recognise another monster and very often his beam does 0 damage really bothers me. Alatreon vs Fatalis would be a better matchup.

So that's it, Fatalis is literally unbeatable by AI. Even DPS monsters like Shara would only get themselves killed faster, as they would bring Fatalis to new "Schrade's Demise" thresholds

To be fair 70% of Safi'jiva's attacks didn't even register on contact against the Fatalis. It wasn't really a fair comparison. That sapphire nova star bomb should've did WAY more damage on the Fatalis as well. It seems damage calculations are off for Safi's moveset.

Lol Fatalis’ special just wipes the HP bar out of anything it seems.

This was awesome, I honestly expected a one sided battle, but Safi still held his ground, until Fatalis' massive fire that is, lol. Still I'm impressed by the Red Dragon.

It's actually impressive thwt Safi reduced Fatalis hp to 49%, with Safi's hp being almost a third of Fetalis, but ofcourse Fatalis won in the end, I was quit surprised by Fetalis size thought he was much smaller than Safi but apparently not

Anyone else notice an issue where Fatalis's spitfire attacks don't work as intended most of the time?(the ones where he sprays the ground for no damage and fire explosions come up afterwards as a follow up)

Safi did his best in this fight, but the special glitch aside, not even Safi’s healing property could save him from Fatalis Firestorm. I wonder how Alatreon will fair... Also I like out that I’m surprised Fatalis is a lot smaller than I imagined compared to Safi.

Can we all just meditate on the fact that it took Fatalis to use one Hellfire wave to bring Safi'Jiva down to *1 HP just by him being "near it"*

I do like that the healing factor of Safi was represented so well. As well as the destructive power of Fatalis. Even without their ults though Fatalis cone breath melted Safi health. Loved it, nice job

IVE BEEN WAITING AND IT CAME

Why are there so many people here salty that Safi lost? First of all, this is not an official turf war and simply a simulation where both monsters are trying to attack the player. True, ultimately the player can control who gets attacked more depending on which monster the player stands next to. Maybe I'm a bit biased but I actually felt like the player stood next to Fatalis more often. All just for entertainment as stated in video description. Secondly, this is a siege monster vs. a regular hunt monster so siege monster will have its own gimmicks such as healing. This should be taken into account when estimating Safi's total health. Overall I'd say it's balanced. If Safi had the same health as Fatalis plus the ability to heal, that would give Safi an unfair advantage (although considering Fatalis's dps, Fatalis might still win). For those of you saying Safi's attacks don't damage Fatalis, look closely at the numbers rather than the %. You'll notice the numbers do go down but just not by a lot. Third, yes I agree Safi is an awesome monster. Very well designed and powerful. One of my personal favorites actually. I just think the hype behind his potential is resulting in bias. Lore-wise, Fatalis has always been the strongest monster (at least the white one) in the mh universe. This was even hinted at by the developers themselves. The results of this fight make sense. Size doesn't always matter. If it did, then Zorah Magdaros would be the strongest in this game. Lao Shan Lung was a mountain dragon (bigger than Safi) in the old games and it was confirmed that even he runs away from a Fatalis. I have a feeling the developers actually predicted that these turf war simulations would happen once Fatalis got released so they purposefully made it so Fatalis damage outclasses everything else just to drive the point across that he's the "top of the ecosystem." During the Safi fight when the Admiral said "I don't think any creature could survive that attack" that's an opinion stated in the moment and nothing backs up that statement. He said he doesn't THINK any creature could survive... this was before Alatreon and Fatalis were introduced to Iceborne. Fatalis, timeline-wise, wasn't even known by anyone in the new world to even exist other than in stories. Maybe we'll see Safi again in a future game where the developers will confirm which is more powerful with a turf war but as it stands, I'd argue Fatalis is still stronger. Perhaps we'll see the variants of Fatalis too (i.e. crimson and white) in future games. And maybe we'll see a final form of Safi that everyone is speculating.

Safi'jiiva should be just as scared of Fatalis as a certain other big red elder dragon...

Despite low hp (still, he can heal too), low dmg specials and low dps, Safi really showed his power as a Red Dragon tho. But I wonder if the targeting system of him works properly against Alatreon like this fight it would be a more interesting fight lol 😂

Everybody gangster till Fatalis uses his ultimate or his cone breath. Makes me curious if Alatreon in fire mode will be mostly immune to Fatalis' fire.

Seems Safi specced more into part breaker since he already had broken 3 parts of Fatalis after 15 min while Fatalis had yet to part break Safi lol.

I love this. But hate how Fatalis is invincible to all her breath attacks. I feel like this fight would go a lot different if they could target each other. But this is fan fiction so I get it. Still an amazing put together. And I love it. Think you for your hard work.

It’s all about damage ticks and flinches in these fights. Monsters that don’t flinch and can use attacks that have many damage ticks will come out ahead. Alatreon is strong because its lightening attacks tick a lot. But it flinches too easily. Safi doesn’t flinch easily doesn’t have attacks that tick a lot. Fatty doesn’t flinch and uses strong attacks that tick the hell out of it. Guess who wins? I liked these videos. But it’s getting predictable now. Still fun. Thanks for making these

Safi may be one of my fav. monsters of all time *after all, how could you not love a dragon that utilizes pure energy?*, but holy shit, this was brutally one sided. Fatalis takes no prisoners.
