Just a reminder that Merlin literally cannot see Oberon because of the latter’s distaste for him. They’re diametrically opposed to each other, with Merlin being a fickle peruser of stories, and Oberon being a living fantasy.
So you mean to say Merlin’s the reason why I spent 700+ quartz and didn’t get Oberon? Man, fuck Merlin fr! He also took 500 quartz from me in his first banner only to appear in 1 10x the next year!
the fact that in lb6 Merlin literally thought that master was talking to themselves all this time because he couldn't see Oberon is still hilarious to me
You *GOTTA* praise Toshiyuki Toyonaga for his Oberon voice. He can produce these layers and layers of voices that sounds simultaneously honest and dishonest.
Yeah, he really treated her death like it was nothing in LB6. Even if we KNOW that everything he says is a lie, therefore, he cared about her (since she was the closest he could ever get to Titania)... it hurted a bit. Glad to see she's still around.
Yeah, he literally couldnt be nice about her death because if he was, it'd be turned into a lie. Truly a tragic fate that he has, but I suppose thats kind of the whole theme of LB6. @@zenmode3125
@@NeptuniaMorgan The two words "tragic fate" really are the best way to describe LB6, now that you mention it. Was there anyone with both a nice life and a nice death?
@@gilgameshkingofheroes5903I want to say Rob, Wag, and Habetrot had the best lives they could have had in Fairie Britain, and the best deaths of everyone there. Maybe also Pepperinico?
My favorite "You've Lost Ritsuka Fujimaru" short by far, though I really adore all of them ^_^ I really like how this series focuses on highlighting the comedic situations that arise from servants purely existing with one another. While their personalities are definitely exaggerated for comedic effect, they're still recognizable as themselves. I really like it!
@@rafuthereaper7424 Probably one of the few things that could get Oberon and Morgan to temporarily get over their mutual hatred of each other is their shared disgust of Merlin
Loved this so much the writers of these little shorts really know the game's story well. Oberon is my favorite servant. I was hoping to see a certain other aspect of him ... but we did kinda get it at the end there. Poor Merlin, always in trouble.
writer, singular. A fancomic writer who did so well she was approached to have her comic become official, did most of the art for the anime as well all while keeping her day job.
Though I haven't reached Lostbelt 6 yet, everytime I see Oberon I remind myself two things: 1. Can't believe this dude's voiced by the same guy that played my favorite Fodlan Lord that wants to end racism. 2. One of the most *dangerous* Servants in this game is a fairy/moth dude drawn by the same person that made an emotional slice-of-life anime/manga about Shogi. And Nasu *INHALED* this stuff up.
I still don’t know how to interpret what Oberon is saying, is everything he says is contradictory ( i hate you = i like you ?), or he just doesn’t tell anything true at all? Lb6 left me confused man
basically: even if what Oberon says is actually the truth, it will become false. because of this he is careful what truths he speaks, for example he will never acknowledge if he finds his Titania because doing so would render that as a lie. he has to lie at all times, to himself others etc. Even his identity is more like 2 lies than one being the truth, hence why he is Oberon Vortigern, not simply Vortigern, because he is neither of those beings yet both of them.
basically no matter what anyone thinks, no matter how honest he seems to be, weather its honeyed words or toxic vitriol spewing out of his mouth, it is a lie even if for no other reason than because of his skill (curse) that makes it so. This is why he tends to give lots of half truths or vague answers in his true form. One also has to keep in mind any lies are not so simple as flipping the meaning, for example saying he likes someone does not mean he hates them, he might just not care about them. @nameunknown8441
When he is Pretending (aka as Oberon) everything he says gets twisted into an implicitly negative lie (ie, if he says "I love you", it becomes "I hate you", but if he says "I hate you" it becomes "I don't even care about you"). As Vortigern, he seems to be more capable of saying truths at times but he still mostly just does the same thing as when he's Pretending. These lies really put us in danger a few times during LB6, like for example when he'd give us info on Woodwose early on he'd describe him as a pushover, whereas the truth was that Woodwose was stronger than Barghest at the very least (and might have been stronger than Mélusine when she's nerfed by taking on Lancelot's name).
Oberon can't tell the truth even if he wants to, but he can tell half truths or incomplete information, if he says something completely true it turns into a lie
