Atalanta actually reminds me a lot of Saber, how they both so whole heartedly devoted themselves to a wish that was not for themselves, but for the salvation of others. The very thing that made her wish so beautiful was what made it unattainable, so sad.

they are heroes that are know for being saints in life heroes that are know for being murderers in life and the heroes who were not saints, but saviors of the world Atalante, with an impossible dream to save all the childrens of the world even if it cost his life Arturia, the king who wanted to erase his own existence thinking she failed in being a king Shirou, the man that guilty for surviving makes him want to save every single person even if his existence dissapears Angra mayui, the man who take all the world hate and destruction to himself just to save the world Siegfried, the swordmaster which life was entirely purpossed to save and help others even if he never makes his own wish in life and the last hero know, Sieg, the homunculis that in the start, with an imposible dream of surviving end granting siegfried final wish and then, he decided to find a way to stop the war and end up saving the world by taking his own body and becoming the evil dragon fafnir to take away the great grail

It's interesting all of Achilles's admiration for Atalanta are all come from everything Peleus told young Achilles back then. Atalanta has always has a young admirer that she doesn't know.

Since I didn't say it before, I'll say it now: I freaking love Atalante! I think she's an awesome servant with a tragic past and a beautiful dream that I want to see come true! She might be one of my favorite servants period!

Hands down, Atalante is my favorite Servant of all time. Once starting into the fate series, of course the first Servant I came into contact with was Arthoria. Going from there, Nero, who immediately became my favorite Saber. There I saw the first little picture of Atalante where she was saved by the Emperor. Never did I expect of me, who in most games likes to fight up close and personal, to grow in interested in ranged fights with a bow only because of one character. I liked her wish. It was pure, maybe too much for most to understand without knowing her past. She fell far in Apocrypha and I am glad that Achilles was by her side in her final moments and waking her from her nightmare. He did the right thing to put her out of her nightmare and she was thankful. Though him killing his own childhood hero must have left quite the scar. I can still see that picture I saw online of him as a child giving her flowers. She would have adored him so much, that speedy little guy. A beautiful Servant and my favorite Archer. Maybe it is because I am greek myself that I like her so much XD Who knows? That would explain why I liked Medusa from the get go and Penthesilea. I hope that one day Atalante might get screen time somewhere and we are able to dive into her past a bit more.

MemeRoss 7 I would also have switched their Classes to be more accurate with thier stories. Karna would be a Archer, Achilles a Lancer, Atalanta a Beserker and Spartacus would be replaced by some historical person.

worldwanderer91 She would hate some of he historical people if they where servants like Genghis Khan because they killed men women and children oh and if Genghis Khan had a Lily version of him I’d say he’d be a kid Archer because at age 9 he lost his father and his tribe abandoning him and his relatives to die and he killed his older half brother over a hunting disputes a boy filled with hatred and blood thirst for vengeance that eventually made him Genghis Khan and it’s said when he killed his half brother he had no remorse nor regret so he had it bad made him realize life isn’t all sun and rainbows perhaps she’d try to change the young Genghis Khan’s ideology but the damage is done as his heart is on full vengeance of the tribe that killed his father

MemeRoss 7 The Jeanne x Sieg thing was a huge distraction that wasn't needed in F/A story that brought it down even further on top of the story's other flaws. Jeanne should have been made the main focus character while Sieg would have been better off paired with Astolfo. Sieg's forced pairing with Jeanne just stirred us Jeanne fanboys into a frenzy. Overall, F/A would have been better if it was like Fate/Zero where all Masters and Servants get significant coverage as character even as Kiritsugu was the main character figure.

Kaybe Vang Atalanta would have better compatibility with someone of similar ideals or values as her and bonus points if the Master happens to be a child. She is one of the few notable non-FSN Servants I know of who would be compatible with Shirou who has his Hero of Justice ideal and dream. She would probably get along with a Master like Illya since she wouldn't know how old Illya really is initially. I can't help but imagine Atalanta appearing in the 4th Fuyuki Holy Grail War as the eighth non-standard Servant "Saver". She saved a child from becoming the next victim of Caster Gills and Ryuunosuke and the child would become her Master. With her Master being a helpless and naive child who is destined to one day become the person known as "Emiya Shirou", Atalanta would fight for the sake of her wish to protect the children of Fuyuki who are prime targets for Caster Gills and Ryuunosuke.

Atalanta in the original Greek myths is such a badass. She wrestled Achilles’ dad and won, plus some stories (probably some retellings) say she rode with Jason, Heracles, Orpheus and the rest of the Argonauts to find the Golden Fleece. She was basically the Hawkeye of the Ancient Greek version of the Avengers, that is in the version where she did go with them. She’s so cool and interesting in Fate/Apocrypha, but I wish they had her do more stuff in the series. Achilles was also great.

Since I only know her in FGO and the Apochrypha anime (which leaves lots of details out) I always found a little off her anger towards Jeanne in the anime. Now with this video it makes so much sense. Her encounter fits perfectly with Jack and Jeanne's backstory and personality. Too bad I didn't get it with only the anime

I feel like Atalanta and Terra Branford(from Final Fantasy VI) would get along. Think about it they both have a thing for children. Terra finds love from children who were abandoned bcuz their parents died. Atalanta was also abandoned and unloved when she was born. Terra took care of the children in the orphanage. I feel like Atalanta couldve done the same thing what Terra did since saving the children were impossible. Just think about how both of them would interact regarding that subject.

Yuwan He was a “doctor” in Auschwitz who performed horrible and fucked up experiments on the prisoners in the camp, specifically on children (among other horrible things). Atalanta, as she is portrayed in Apocrypha, has a very strong soft spot for children... you see where I was going with this?

I think when it comes to alignment it may refer to what chances they are willing to take to make it happen or could be linked more with their history. Like Caligula is considered chaotic evil due to his own insanity and what evil deeds he performed during that time. Now if they ever make a Caligula as a wise ruler his alignment would change based off of what he did before his insanity. It's just my guess though since there are some questions to how DW puts down a servants alignment when it seems some aren't exactly correct.

Jamal Davis Well a lot of these characters have tragic stories. It's part of the job being a hero. Atalanta in particular had to deal with rampant sexism in her time and it's unfortunate.

OtakuDaiKun. Not all heroes get bad endings. For example Medea's life didn't end in any tragedy i can think of. Gilgamesh got off scott free. And do i really need to say anything about Scatach?

Medeas life WAS a whole tragedy in of itself the minute Jason came. Forced to fall in love with a stranger which resulted in her betraying her father and cutting her brother to pieces (who she loved very much and still feels that tragedy to this day). Only to be abandoned and tossed aside for another women in a foreign kingdom after her usefulness was done and treated like garbage by everyone there including Jason (no one stood by her and the only person who loved, her father, was far away). In the end she accpets the identity pf an evil witch people impossed on her whci is a far cry from how she was originally as a little girl. Thats why she wants to return home so bad because she was stolen from their as a young girl(a child in fateverse). Gil only ever loved Enkidu and lost him. It's not tragic to some but to lose the only person you cared for takes it's toll. That and his speciall circumstance separates him from humans. He is in between gods and human not belong in to either entirely. That makes for a line existence. Scathach is forced to be immortal unable to die, watching the world age while she can't be a part of it anymore. Living forever gets tiring. Plus she isn't technically a servant as she is not in the throne (only in fgo because of plot) and is closer to a divine spirit. Point being all Servants(the heroes) have basically had tragice lives and it's ingrained into their very beings. Removing their tragedies removes a lot about them that makes them a hero worth being in the throne. It's also useless comparing them as everyone finds different things more tragice than others.

It's fine to be a good person and have a goal, but when that's your entire defining character trait... it's a little boring. (and when that trait is shown in the form of constant screeching, it's annoying. But that's just me.)

No refference to Overly Sarcastic Productions Otaku? They made a video about her, so you could have used some of their works for the lore, but let´s ignore this and let me tell you, why i think she is a wasted character: Her entire Charactization as Archer is already a mismatch due to her being more like an Beserker or Lancer in the real lore that would have fitted her better than occupying a class that should have been given to Karna. Her Personality as a Overly protective saviour to children is a pretty Medicore way of making her an Enemy to Ruler, because the writers couldn´t figure out to give her actual reasons to fight against our Heroes. So we have an very interesting Character ruined by a unnessesarly dispute that wasn´t there to begin with. Also the lack of refference to her lover is alsoa minus point for her, due to this being a perfect story to make Ruler and Seig question if they love can be properly fulfilled. I dunno if i mentioned before, but i do have a feeling that a huge chunk of these servants are just a call back to the Servant of Fate stay night so that we can connect them with the ones from the Original game? I mean look at this: The main Heroine, Jeanne is a Female saint betrayed by her own kind like Artoria? The Main Hero Sieg is a confliced person, who became a hero after being saved by a just person like how Kiritsugu saved Shiro? Mordred being another refference to Artoria because Type-Moon can´t help but Milk this Britian Cow and her overly exaggerated failures that ended up ruining Arthur´s character and makes Mordred look way to petty to be taken seriously. Semiramis having access to NP´s she never had in her actual life and is basically a decadent anti-Mesopotamian depiction by Old Testament Propaganda so that fans can have a villain that is both Ridicoulously OP and super sexy like a Certian other Golden Boy from Mesopotamia? Avicebron being a Oriental man, who hide his face behind a mask, who then becomes a mini-Boss for the story like Hassan, who is like him from the Middle east and Masked as well? Shirou Kotomine being a draw back to Kirei and Archer as an Fusion between the two and Finally Atalanta being a drawback to Medea, whom she meet in her actual life and went mad like her? Yeah, Apocrypha is really not that Original to be honest, they should have used the connections way better than this.

Yuwan Well for these I get most of my detail from Apocrypha itself. Overly Sarcastic is fun but I try to tell my own version of the story. I actually quite like Apocrypha so I can't really agree with your criticism. It's definitely a stretch to say it's the same format as Stay Night.

I love Fate, but after a while they became more distant from reality and did some crazy things, Atalanta is not a bad character, but she would be a much more interesting character if they worked on her mother factor, because she was married and had a son, whom she abandoned for fear of Artemis discovering that she had broken her vow of chastity. This would give greater weight to the story and character development, and also involve children.
