These new divisions all look amazing, except the 358th Strelkovy, which is bog-standard, to say the least. Not terrible but nowhere near as exciting as the others. Vyborg is a beast with those IS-2s & 126th Gorno Strelkovy will own towns & forests. Their air tab also looks pretty sexy with those Hurricane Anti-tank & plenty of P-40 Jabos. I've not looked at the Finns in detail as I have to get ready to go out, but they look really interesting too & the infantry weapons load-outs could make for some very interesting new tactical gameplay. I love all the varied aircraft, though most of them look obsolescent at best.
Having studies them in a bit more detail & taken in the views of AngryBird & Vulcan, I've kind of had a change of heart about the 358th. Not exciting but solid in many areas. The Gornostrelkovy has exciting units and plays well vs the AI in skirmishes but I'm not 100% convinced how well it will do in 1vs1 against any division with significant numbers of tanks.
Really weird how they gave the Finnish T-34-85 the wrong camo. I only assume this is based on the Parola tank museum T-34, but to my knowledge that restoring work was based on improper research work when it came to the camo. The current grey blue should have actually been more akin to very light sand. IIRC the confusion came from the color standard being called only ''Grey'', and some research was based on colored picture, which had very light blue color, so they thought it was closed to that.
Correct me if Im wrong but weren't Jaegers during the winter and continuation wars Finnish German train light infantry defending from Finnish volunteers to Germany in WW1 and then jääkäri was a general term for riflemen?
Yes, when debated on forums while people were asking for a generic SMG range buff, we'd stated that it was not warranted for most SMG, with the "hypothetical" KP-31 & Beretta 38, being a possible exception. Those two latter SMG were above the norm and deserved a buff. Besides, no nation using any of the two had full SMG squads.
