Sehr schöne Uniform. Die habe ich auch mal getragen. Ich besitze noch einen Ehrendolch der Genztruppen für Generäle. Sollte jemand Interesse dafür haben. Danke!
I actually keep a binder of what I bought so the exact price was $184.89 for the helmet, tunic + shoulder boards etc., pants, belt, and suspenders and at the time the tunic was the only Border Guard’s tunic for sale on eBay. So I would say not only is this stuff getting harder to find but climbing in price fairly quickly.
Yea most I’ve seen go for around $100 now, but I found mine in an antique store and it was missing its foam pads and has surface rust so I managed to get it for only $50.
@@WarTalks 2 times I almost got one for 50 with the pads, first time guy slept in for thr meet up, 2nd time was that the seller didn't accept his price, one day I'll get my hands on one
@@enderboythree9934 Yeah, it's stupid how much people sell these helmets for. If you know where to look, you can find helmets for around 50$ which I would say is a fairly good price.
Thank you very much for this video. Very interesting I Have one but I don't know what is missing. I will send the form of the jacket. I will like to know how you did the stand for this uniform. Because is very especially and difficult to get a maniquí. I'm building a small museum. Fi posible tha You can help me with your information. Well have a great night. I would be happy to help you, I’ll make a video tomorrow better showing the uniform stand and let me know what you want to know about the uniform and all of its parts because I’ve gotten more stuff for it since I put up the video.
So it works off a letter date system where the uniform will have a letter which refers to a year of manufacture. For example my uniform has the letter g which indicates it’s year of manufacture as 1981. You can find the letter at least on my example on the tag with the size inside the tunic. I’ll point you to this website which has this information, www.germandotmilitaria.com/east-german-uniform-date-codes/#:~:text=All%20East%20German%20Uniform%20items,stamped%20into%20the%20uniform%20item.&text=(You%20will%20notice%20that%20the%20letter%20L%20is%20used%20twice.)
I don’t have a specific place I know where you can do exchanges/trades though I would suggest talking to the seller I got parts of this uniform from. The seller is Fred’s East Meets West on eBay, you can look up his store pretty easily. He has a lot of East German surplus so you may be able to make a deal with him, though once again I haven’t done a whole lot of exchanging or trading so my suggestions for it are pretty scarce and I’m not entirely sure if the people I deal with are always open to exchanging/trading.
