Even in the Fate route is the same, to save Shirou, Saber and Rin he solos Heracles of all people, kills the guy 6 times in different ways and earn his respect, dude was admired and respected by his skills even by the greatest greece demigod hero despite being a weak modern human without fame. No matter how much he came to hate it and reject it, he is humanity greatest hero in a sense since he as a counter guardian stopped humanity from destroying itself countless times, a very dirty and sick job but he still deserves all the hype and respect.
@@apocryphaemiya9331 That is the legend behind the hero Shirou Emiya. His desire to be a hero. He never desired thanks, he just wanted to save everyone. But all heroes are meant to face tragic ends. And Shirou was no exception. The world he saved countless times condemned him.
Archer: Who are you then? Lancer: First name Mario, Second name Mario Archer: It's obvious even if you are lying, You are Ireland's Child Of Light and Hound of Ulster Cu Chulaime.
Baeber: "I've already deduced who you are..." Lancer: "First name Mario... Last name Mario..." Baeber: "Cu Chulainn! Ireland's Child of Light, and faithful dog!" Lancer: "Ok, can I level with you for a moment? You're like the second person tonight to pull that out of nowhere. Do I have it painted on my back or what?"
It was already impressive that he had fought and beaten True Assassin in a battle of speed (keeping in mind that Archer has C ranked agility while True Assassin has A ranked agility, and that Archer still beat him even when he was being "corrupted" by the grail). He was skewered by Sakura's shadow tendrils multiple times which severely damaged his Spirit Core (essentially a Heroic Spirit's/Servant's heart) and resulted in him being injured fatally. He deployed a conceptual noble phantasm (Rho Aias) that reflects the damage back to the user for each petal that is destroyed (also keeping in mind that all seven petals were destroyed). Yet, after all of that, he still did not die immediately. He survived long enough to sacrifice his left arm and have Kirei grafted it into Shirou, and to make sure that Rin and Shirou were relatively safe. To me personally, Archer is literally one of the most, if not the most, impressive Fate character of all time.
Well this is Emiya, you know he can still used his projection magic for physical strength plus Banshou and Bakuya can boost him and you see that being used by Shirou . That stat you saw was raw stats after all. I expected no less from him, he's a true jack-of-all-trades, master of none.
Emiya's stats never add up to me from what I've seen he should have higher agility and strength stats since it's been shown that even though being an archer he can still go up against servants like cú and artoria in close combat and not be completely bullied by them he also defeats assassin's like Hassan quite easily just using his dual blades so yeah he's stats look dumb to me he should have B strength at most and higher agility.
@@dan4235 What you saw actually him in base stat not projecting anything. And when he does with his twin black and sword stats go up and other weapons he did had enchantment that provides him some boost. That's the reason why he always projects weapon and enchancement whenever his in a fight that's because he's below than them. Just based on Shirou every time he does projection magic, you can see him making a mere stick sturdier than ever albeit weaker in proficiency in Emiya archer. Don't worry if you're confused, the series is confusing as it is. It does take me a lot of times to understand and grasp some concepts of the series and still now I have yet to fully understand all of it. Think of his projection magic with weapons and other stuff as equipment in RPG it does give raw stats right?
“I am the bone of my sword” I heard the hardest fan girl shriek when I watched this in the theatre. It was followed by the entire audience laughing and cheering, because that random girl manifested what everyone kept inside.
jajja when i went to see the first movie there were times someone would let out some fanatism out of the skin, it was awesome because we were all the same, but we tried to keep it cool. and there was the casual and cute plus one who quietly asked : why is everyone reacting? and obviously the cuter one responding to questions quietly. we all had a great time, those little noises didn’t ruined it for anyone. we all were aware that real magic was going on for all of us and some were sharing this with loved ones
I think the worst part is that Rho Aias is a conceptual noble phantasm that reflects it's current state back on the wielder. For every petal destroyed that manifests as physical damage back on archers body. And considering he had already be ran through multiple times by shadow sakura's ribbons, it's no wonder he died almost immediately after this
Lol isn't it better then to just Dodge the attack ? Like tha hell if you still get damaged when blocking with this thing why even use it in the first place ._.
@@crazy_teacup it has damage reduction though. There's a certain amount of damage the user will receive. He rarely uses it unless he can't dodge them like Cu when he throw the spear or a freaking nuke NP. In the movie he has to or both Rin(his master) and Shirou will get caught as well basically. Are you new to the series, everyone basically knows this except for some people. It's sort of an emergency blocker for the most part better take some damage than receive the full brunt if you can't dodge it
@@pauloazuela8488 Can't really say I have zero knowledge about Fate,I was just questioning the usefulness of that move itself, rather of how it has been used in the series.
archer literally sacrifices himself in 2 of the routes and only truly found some sort of peace in ubw - a tragic character who deserved a seat in the throne of heroes
@@baolongnguyen7844 Lemme clarify the term Counter Guardians and what they are. Basically there are two ways to enter the Throne of Heroes, the legit way (becoming a heroic spirit by being famous) or becoming a Counter Guardian (the unconscious will of humanity to survive, alaya's agents). Emiya archer is one such Counter Guardian, being sent through time and space to combat threats that endanger humanity, most of the times humans themselves. From what I know, Emiya Archer's 'throne' is his reality marble, UBW. He stays there on that hill till Alaya needs him or someone summons him in a grail war. The only other Counter Guardians I remember are Assassin Emiya (Kiritsugu), Emiya Archer Alter and Okita Souji Alter.
@@raulfernandez57 One of the anchors that holds a Heroic Spirit grounded in the mortal realm. It's essentially their 'heart', and if you destroy it, they're immediately sent back to the Throne of Heroes. Generally speaking, cutting off the head, destroying the brain, or crushing the heart of a Heroic Spirit is enough to instantly send them back to the Throne. Emiya had his chest pierced by multiple black tendrils, and even though he's an abnormal Heroic Spirit, he still managed to continue to fight despite that. Requires a strength of will not many possess, even among Heroic Spirits.
@@sergeantassassin3425 Tnx for explaning. In fact, I remember there was a Skill which allows the Servant to keep on fighting after sustaining mortal wounds
@@raulfernandez57 The Skill is called "Guts". There are several Heroic Spirits that possess this ability, but Emiya is not one of them. This Skill is only granted to those who, in their records and myths, managed to sustain mortal wounds and yet either survived, or continued to fight long after they should have perished. For example, every version of Cu Chulainn possesses it, and Heracles possesses a super-charged version of it known as the Twelve Labors.

It shows that he still wants to save people even when he has become cynical and twisted, and even at his death. It shows he is still the same. "Even after all this, you're still you" kind of thing.
No. He only saved this version of Shirou because he saw that Shirou is beginning to abandon some of his ideals. The main reason why Archer wanted to kill Shirou so bad in UBW is because he doesn't want for Shirou to end up like him. Meanwhile over here in HF, Shirou choosing Sakura over his ideals meant going against some of the ideals that would've driven him into becoming EMIYA; meaning that he would probably not be ending up as EMIYA in the distant future. So Archer was cool with that and no longer had a reason to murder him despite having his memories. Plus, it was probably a necessity for him to save Shirou so as to preserve Illya and Rin in the ongoing war. So the situation called for saving Shirou's life and him abandoning his ideals probably also contributed to that as well.
@@azerosblank5036 but even than, archer reverts to the hero complex that shirou and kiritsugu had. After he used Rho Aias here. And when he went to cut off his arm for shirou. He said “if I do nothing 2 will be dead. But atleast with this 1 will definitely be saved.” Like bruh archer bipolar af.
This scene its painful for me to watch but still, it's so beatiful. Even though the Aias broke Archer was able to save everyone, well he wasn't able to save himself.
No . Its neither . Emiya said it himself in the novel . Distorted heroes like him and Hassan can resist being corrupted by angra mainyu . It has nothing to do with independent action or being a counter guardian .
Comet Gamer There’s nothing that says Counter Guardians can’t be corrupted. What is true is that Archer Emiya is a neutral heroic spirit, meaning that he has higher resistance than good heroic spirits when it comes to Angra Mainyu’s curse, but the resistance is not as high as heroic spirits with an evil alignment like Cursed Arm Hassan.
Rho aias shaped like a flower colored pink is the symbols of love, the shield of Rho Aias is the symbols of Emiya Shirou being seigi no mikata, a hero who want to protect everyone.
Aaaahhhhm ... No. The flower is coloured pink because it is a representation of a hyacinth, the flower that sprouted from the blood of Ajax on the battlefield of Troy. Ya know, the greek hero the NP is literally named after?
The way Rin yells out ‘ARCHER’ breaks my heart. There’s one thing I always remember is No matter what dimension- _Rin and Shirou will ALWAYS have a connection_
@@danielhess7816 it's not much of a fight tho, it's just Archer kicking Assassin's ass. But Archer did the ass-kicking with a style, so I understand why that is one of your favourites
@@irkira477 That is true. Maybe its just me but his role in this version of the 5th holy war was the best, and this fight topped it off for me. So I will have to retract my statement and say rather that its one of the best fights in fate for me.
Its the “what if” that got waaay out of hand. “What if the grail decides to actively participate itself in this war and had a certain aid from an older dude that has a fetish for bugs?” This. This is what happens.
I think that if you look at it, it is the perfect successor to Fate Zero because all the storylines gets solved. Gilgamesh, Archer, Angra Mayu, Zouken, Shinji, Kirie and the previous grail even. It is the perfect successor because it ties all ends of the story that Fate Zero created. While the two other routes can be considered character stories because it touches on Saber, Shirou, Rin and Archer. The Heaven's Feel Route touches on everything setup by Fate Zero.
Angra Mainyu was lucky that Archer didn't have the counter force activated through him... imagine infinite mana supplied by Alaya to Archer that can make him take a shit on Saber Alter in Heaven Feels...
@@anthonylopez6679 What even better... there was an incident one time with 7 Counter Guardians with Counter Force activated on all of them trying to contains Primate Murder, Beast IV. Said to have an absolute authority to kill any man, as you can imagine, Alaya, the spirit of Mankind is working overtime pumping the good stuff into 7 Counter Guardians to control Primate Murder. Super Smexy Santa Alter well idk if he do it later bc of that Bche needed archef arm... I mean shirou dont needed archer arm THAT badly he could use his own mana but whatever masochist won.
I just had this thought, considering there are an infinite number of worlds in the kaleidoscope. If we consider our own world as one of them wouldn't Archer's legend also be passed down? Considering we all know of his legend and we do know that modern influences can affect a heroic spirit. Case and point Leonidas as how he looks similar to those spartan from 300
i think the point behind archer not being a heroic spirit is that in every world, no matter what he does, no matter what happens, shirou emiya simply doesn't become famous enough to qualify. one of the main ideas from ubw was that shirou won't be the hero that he wishes he could be, but he'll keep trying no matter what
@@Vapor817 There is few Heroic Spirits not recognizable by the masses but still end up in the Throne of Heroes. So why it did not happen as well to EMIYA? Well that is considering that the modern perspective of humanity towards heroes in the modern times is blur and inefficient to reach. There's also the fact that those famous or infamous must needed to be recorded in the Proper Human History where the setting timeline is observable to the Throne of Heroes. If you don't get it, it simply that humans that reachable as heroes and villains needed to have at least skills either magecraft or not, known at least even to the mundane world, collective stories circling that person needed to reach in levels where it can be conceptualized and manifested, and finally the passage of time. It goes to say that Shirou Emiya can't never be a Heroic Spirit if his action is not known even to the mundane world far and wide. That is his biggest mistake since most of his goal towards as a Hero of Justice is in the shadow and in the moonlit world.
Rogue Ascendant Actually, we don't know if Shirou IS in the Throne of Heroes or not. For all we know, he very well may because of his lives in the other routes. An good example of this is the Fate route where he searches for saber until the end of time itself (maybe not exactly right, but you get the idea), are you sure he never gets known after literally living for ages? If Shirou could find a way into Avalon, I don't doubt that at least in one of the infinite worlds of Nasu that he wouldn't be a hero. (Technically, you can even say he's already there because of Muramasa.) Legends in fate are super iffy and could literally be any little rumor that gained traction. If someone unknown as Kojiro becomes a hero, I pretty sure its then mostly left to luck. I could be wrong though, but if you read this, any thoughts?
@@BNF5005 shirou isnt on the throne because of fame, he is on the throne because he made a contract with alaya. The contract didnt give him the fame to ascend, he was already going there the moment he sold his afterlife to become a counter guardian
People need to stop calling plot armor and need to understand that Archer emiya goes above and beyond his myth. Just like how hercules and cu goes beyond his myth, archer does the same thing. And beside it's not the first time, archer emiya and shirou does the impossible, it's part of their character. Similar to how Archer gil will almost always look down on his opponents and that sometime cause his to lose fight.
isn't it ironic how Ajax has been around since 2004 like this but never even got his own design yet, makes me feel bad for the guy, he already got shafted in the Illiad and now he's getting shafted in the Nasuverse as well
In fate apocrypha, achilles has a noble phantasm called achilleus cosmos. In it you can see the trojan war moments; hector, penthesilea and a third one that idk whats happening. It MAY be a reference to ajax.
No he's too fucking powerful in every route Fate route: He was injured but still was able to kill berserker 6 times in row with different weapon without ubw, even berserker was surprised and admire his ability even though he can't speak Ubw route: made caster looks like a trash, was able to do ubw twice and remain in the world without a master for 3 days, fighting his younger self that keept getting stronger every minute, saving shirou and killing gil after shirou and gil battle
@@user-xs5kr8gi5t Nah, he only used UBW once actually, he didn't use it in the Archer vs Shirou fight, that was an Ufotable addition (which is a pretty stupid addition considering Archer shouldn't have enough mana to use it for a 2nd time). That's also part of the reason why in the VN, Gil was surprised by Shirou's UBW because it was his first time seeing it then.
I don't remember Shirou witnessing Archer use Rho Aias in UBW. Archer uses it against Lancer in ther second fight but Shiro isn't there, he's fighting Kuzuki inside the church
@@oddsamurai1 At the beginning of Shirou's fight against Gilgamesh where he starts to chant his own version of UBW, the Rho Aias protecting him is actually from Archer.
