Since he gave it that score, I'd suggest watching Tremors 2 at some point. Kevin Bacon isn't in it but Earl and Burt make a comeback and it is a very solid sequel. And since he was fond of Walter, the actor that plays him was also in another movie that I think Thoren would like. This one with Kurt Russell.....Big Trouble in Little China. You HAVE to introduce him to Jack Burton. And if you haven't seen that one somehow either, my goodness you both need to see this 80's masterpiece!

There was a Tremors TV series on the SyFy channel. It had a website that explained the zoology of the creatures. They are actually a prehistoric relative of the squid that evolved for life underground.

Pogo stick girl is Ariana Richards, Lex from Jurassic Park. Burt Gummer, played by Michael Gross, is the dad from Family Ties.

Tremors 2 It’s a really solid sequel that doesn’t get enough attention it’s definitely worth looking at.

Funnily enough this is one of me top 5 films of all time. Glad to see the younger generation getting to enjoy it.

Fred Ward, the other handyman, actually did a comedy action movie called Remo Williams, which was great. The female lead was Kate Mulgrew, the captain from Star Trek Voyager.

I recommend reacting to the sequels thru number 4. You'll learn more about where they come from and it's a fun watch put certain characters return so that you can get attached

Good news. Sci-Fi channel made a Tremors: The Series back around the time they were making Tremors 4. So, that's on DVD.

Since you like TV shows and in the spirit of horror and IF you guys haven't seen it, I suggest Stranger Things. And another good movie for spooky season I recommend is The Blob (1988).

Another great movie... Smokey and the Bandit.. Not sure why this movie made me think of that one but glad it did...

Fun fact...the lady that got buried in the station wagon may look familiar...that is Bibi Besch, who played Kirk's baby mama Dr. Carol Marcus in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.😁

To quote the great Tugg Speedman...I got a bad feelin about this. LOL Tremors a terrific...it's a comedy, but has excellent horror stuff in it, and it really does get the formula for horro-ish fun with a bit of spoofing included. But it may all come down to the creature effects, and as good as they are, they cannot really stand up to some of the CGI horror creature that this boy has seen. This is another one that he could love, or he could just hate it...I really hope he loves it. Edit: OK...he liked it but did not love it...I guess that's a win. LOL

If you want to watch the ultimate Bacon I think there's no escaping Footloose. Probably not a Thoren movie, more like just because it is an 80's zeitgeist movie. Also put on Tombstone just to teach what a western is 😜 .. well Cowboys & Aliens (though much newer) if you want to watch a Western he might actually like.

Thoren, I think you'll dig a newer movie READY PLAYER ONE it never stops moving - How about BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA with the actor who played Walter as well and Kurt Russell? If you want a real scary weird one ERASERHEAD will freak you out - as far as who am I in this film? I'm the little girl on the Pogo stick just bebopping through life, making some noise and bothering a few others but in my own Libra world man - Do the V kid and make us all proud

this was all practical effects, even the dirt camera was practical. the fourth is a prequal movie and the tv show is set after three, just gotta deal with it being given zero budget. the newer movies are nice also, 6 or 7 in total.

Akira is a pretty good anime film from the 80s its like world war 3 nuclear Holocaust type of film

the little thing that always bugged me was the doctor death scene, you need the keys turned on acc. to get the radio working and have to pull on the lights to get them working, i am sure the last thing she did was to worry about turning the lights on

Sorry I don't know your name yet, but the dad has a Woody Harrelson vibe going on. The 2nd sequel to this is as good, but in a different way. It's kind of hard to explain, but I think you'd get it if you watched it. I personally liked the combo of characters in the 3rd movie, though that's when the franchise goes in a different direction. Again, you'd have to watch them to understand. The 4th is an exception, but it's also a prequel, so you could watch it at any point.

It's 'Western Flavored', as it is a Stew of multiple Genres. Great Comedy, but had moments of genuine horror. It followed convention in some aspects, but really broke them in others. All-in-all, a smartly written action-adventure-horror-comedy (and whatever other genre could be stuffed in there.) It's definitely a classic. I agree with Thoren to a point re: Long-Form Storytelling vs Short. One of the disadvantages, and a big one, is the time invested & then wasted when the story as a whole turns out to be a dud. One of the biggest examples of that would be the Eight YEARS invested in 'Game of Thrones'. The ending was catastrophically bad & while some people may be able to watch a few good seasons in isolation, without thinking of that dumpster fire of an ending and how meaningless it makes the whole work, I ain't one of 'em. Films are visual Short Stories & as in print, the duration forces economy. It requires real skill to make the viewer/reader invested, when time is limited. There's always the temptation to get 'lazy' in long stories, but that luxury is eliminated in the format. I know for film at least, it was technological limitations that played a huge part in film length. It was pushing the technology for decades to even have 10 MINUTES of film in a single reel. Then, Economics of Theaters, how long could you feasibly keep a bunch of people seated at one time. This at least, they had an existing model to follow, the Stage Play. We're very spoiled in our modern age in things like that.

Good animated series? I just watched Pariah Nexus (Warhammer) & it get a thumbs up (gore/violence). Oh, and Fright Krewe that basicly is what Velma (the Scooby Do "remake") should have been. Velma is a weird one alright that i only watched to see how messed up it really is. Praise Petey is probably not going to win any awards but if you have a open mind & like stuff like Archer & Drawn Together this might be for you. Arcane starts a bit slow but so does any rollercoaster. There is a reason this one gets 10/10 everywhere. Harley Quinn in currently on season 4 & that says a lot about the high quality of the show in this day & age where most things usually gets cancelled after the first series. With Little Demon it was nice to see something different.

If you want to put on the most Kevin Bacon movie .. Footloose, though I suspect you'd both be bored. For a 1993 Western with an allstar cast .. just to teach what a western actually is; Tombstone For a Western/Sci-Fi you might actually like, though it is way too new; Cowboys & Aliens (2011).
