I can understand why Katie’s adopted parents supported her bc as someone that at one time would have done anything to be with a person I thought I loved, i distanced myself and ignored anyone who didn’t agree with me. It wasn’t till I realized on my own terms that they were “right”. They did it to stay close and not lose their relationship to her (my opinion)

I’ve heard this story from another true crime RU-vid channel, but I like hearing other people tell the same stories. You know, different takes and things to emphasize. This case is so disgusting. So much more could have been done to prevent this tragedy.

This is so messed up on so many levels. I feel mostly bad for the adoptive parents. They gave Katie a good life & she just took off to be with this low life father. She's a very ungrateful person. Also I find it hard to believe that he didn't abuse all of his daughters. I don't understand the reaction of her adoptive parents or grandmother. This is so sick!

Idk how many times I have seen this story on various true crime channels but the bio-mom always seems to piss me off. How do you have a child by a man and then find out he is abusive and instead of leaving, you give your child for adoption. Only to marry the bastard and have more kids with him. What sense does any of that make?

All of them knew this man was a predator because he liked young girls . The grandma , the adoptive parents and even her own mother and they all went along with it ? They are all thrash . The girl was obviously groomed and the wife should’ve of sent the daughter back to the adoptive parents and the adoptive parents should have filed a restraining order . I have two daughters and I don’t care what they want while being young and leaving in my home , they won’t be going with no abusive or predator man . I would do everything in my power to stop it for sure but these people who were supposed to protect her did nothing .

This case always enrages me because baby Bennett could have been saved. Like, why tf would the justice system give that baby to Steven's mom, someone who enabled the relationship and raised that disgusting freak. Alyssa was also Bennett's grandma and the only person who did the right thing in the whole damn case. Poor Alyssa and her 3 daughters.

This is HORRIBLE! I can't even imagine letting this happen. I feel that the adoptive parents should have done something. I know that she was an adult, but something could have been done. Now she is gone. This is so sad. It makes me feel sick to know that this crazy bastard has realations with his daughter. She was his puppet. Very sad story.

All the adults in this case failed Katie so bad. Steven was a predator and he did plenty of freaky shit that should have landed him in jail way before Katie ever got in touch with him. It's baffling how everyone enabled him.

No, scratch that, I'm so confused, this girl has clearly been preyed upon by a man with a pattern of abuse, she gives birth to little baby Broson and they arrest her too? I didn't realize that CA stopped at age 18. "Well she WAS a victim but now she's 18 so it doesn't count" ???? Do pedos just stop on the 18th bday too?? Then Dadhusband gets dumped (side note, how do you break up with your father? "You've been downgraded to Grandpa now, sorry"), TELLS his mum he's driving ten hours to get to this girl and she doesn't call the police until after? Wtf did she think he was driving down there for? And he killed Anthony (adopted dad) too, why, to make sure there were no witnesses? No, I'd be willing to bet he was thinking that she was "cheating" when she saw him with her. She was already *with* one of her dads, nothing stopping her from making it two. This guy's head is screwed on wrong, man. Obviously. Who could think of their child that way in the first place? "My kid looks very hot today" this mfr should've punched his ticket right then and there, would've saved a lot of people a lot of trouble.
