This makes me happy to see a father so dedicated. I loved my father and we would go on hunting trips all of the time. But in 1987 when I was 8, he was killed in a train wreck when the train he worked on wrecked into an oil tanker, blowing it up and killing my dad. I inherited half of his guns and my brother got the other half. My uncle and my brother and I always get tears in our eyes when we go on hunting trips up in the mountains, knowing we have someone missing from the group. Love you dad

I don’t know if people somehow missed the part of the video where the narrator explains Alaska’s laws regarding game animals, but as someone who lives here, trust me, there are very serious laws when it comes to wasting meat. These men didn’t go out to “trophy hunt” and no one “deserves” this 😔

I'm 57, there's no way I could have just laid down beside my son. I'd have been on that trail as soon as I realized he wasn't conscious. It worked out for this guy, but I'd have been way too stressed out. I wouldn't have been able to lay down.

Its always a gamble when you're coming down a cliff..the sad part is neither the father or son took cognisance of how serious it would be to climb those steep cliffs.. Anyways his father was very experienced in this situation and didn't loose his cool ..he saved his son's life..his son had a serious tbi injury..had moments to live..

I remember getting a shock as kid, on trees etc realising some kids do not do this climbing thing well at all, for one reason or another. Here it was risky before he ever started climbing if you ask me, not enough precautions. Great he can lead a normal life again though!!

EPIRBS were not around when we hunted in Wilderness Areas in the late 70's so we carried Mountain Radios. No excuse being in remote areas like that without EPIBS or Radios. Just not fair on those who risk their lives to go help you.

In my city..we have a tradition that like in this story...it was good that he went back to the place where he fell..so his soul goes back inside him.For my tradition..we call back the soul...like for ecample we just cal his name and we say come back to his body...and a prayer to the unseen people around.Because in my tradition we believed that all the dead people's spirit is just around...

If they were hunting for trophy they would of hunted something bigger and riskier! At least when the world goes to hell, which it slowly is. They are useless unless you're in range by a cell phone tower.the next big thing to have is a cb in your vehicle and that's not guaranteed. I think everyone should have a homing devise. With several back up batteries and a flare gun with as many flares you are able to pack.

A.V.S. You are at nothing preaching to people who just like to feel special and trendy and spread hate everywhere they can. They ignore the fact that hunters are the frontline of conservation and without them it would collapse worldwide. In America alone 800million is raised every year for conservation by hunters. They care more than anyone about the protection of land and wildlife and actually get out there and do what's needed to ensure the safety of all wildlife and habitats. But people online especially vegans ignore that fact and just spread hate from the comforts of their home and living a life that's completely contradictory to what they preach. Ugh people are so bloody dumb it's not even funny anymore.

Hmm one thing that always puzzles me is, if you have enough money to have all that expensive gear you surely don't need to hunt to survive.. that will be if you were a native of the place surviving on what nature gives you.. I'm not a vegetarian but I don't eat meat, only if it's given to me I won't refuse, but as pure choice I just wouldn't kill an animal myself.. I do a lot of hiking and climbing and seeing the animals free with their babies following is amazing .. they are families and call for each other .. don't see the point of shooting them on holiday trips just to prove we are good hunters with riffles, even if we eat them .. that animal will feed a whole tribe.. so eating it for leisure I think it's just a waste of the animal 😳

Does it make you think about how the sheep feels about loosing it's friend or family just for your fun. It must be so scary for them to hear the gun. When you see 2 of them together, you see their friendship. Why should humans be allowed to take away the life of these creatures. Does their life not matter . Would you like someone to kill you or your friend. I have no sympathy. Did not suffer half enough
