FATHER I'M STRUGGLING!!! - Fr. Mark Goring, CC 

Good morning Father, I will share this with you. I'm 65 years old and I have struggled for many years (30 or more) with things I have done over my lifetime. On Friday, March 18, 2022, I decided to take my life back from sin. I sat and spoke with a wonderful priest, Fr. George. He renewed my faith in God. He made my faith stronger... He administered penence to me for forgiveness of my sins. We recited the act of contrition. I feel so renewed. So enlightened. So close to our Lord, Jesus Christ. My new chapter in life began for me on Friday, March 18, 2022. Thank you Lord Jesus for not giving up on me when I gave up on myself. AMEN 🕯

Father I have a son who is autistic and everything that is going on in the world is having a very unsettling effect on him. We pray the rosary every day and lift up all the worries to Him. He is struggling with hearing about our world being on the brink of WW 3. Please pray for him that Jesus will give him the peace that passes all understanding.

We need help from our Priests....so thank you for helping us understand our needs!

I struggle with the sin of sloth. Through a lot of prayer, Confession, and self-determination I am overcoming this sin and I’m feeling much, much better about myself. As a wife and a mom I can say I’m getting much more accomplished

Whenever I struggle i been with Cancer & Chemotherapy for 18 months, I turned to God and his Mother, the Rosary daily, I do it daily on you tube so I am praying with other’s from Rome Cardinal Comastri so Beautiful if I wake up in the middle of the night I do it until I fall asleep. I am still under strict lock down because of my compromised immune system.. but God is good I am still alive p.s. i in no way want people to pity me , many people have suffering, however I am not angry with God for Cancer, I never say why me ? I depend on God & our Blessed Mother they are carrying me 24/7 🙏🏼♥️Viva Cristo Rey

I'm 65, and even though I've been a Christian for most of my life, I've been Catholic for only two years. I have a lot of "catching up" to do, so I needed this reminder that God causes the growth as long as I am faithful to pray, seek His will in all things, go to Mass and confession, and know that I am His! He will not abandon me! And I pray the Rosary and Divine Mercy chaplet every day... this has changed my life!

We all sin. “If we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves, The truth is not in us”. (1 John 1:8). Thank you Lord for the gentle whisper and nudging for us to repent and go before you with our struggles. ❤️🙏🏻Blessings Father Mark

Offer your struggles to our Lord in exchange of his love and mercy for the forgiveness of sins, conversion of sinners and salvation of the poor souls in purgatory. Pray the Holy Rosary. Fasting. Self-discipline doesn’t happen overnight, small steps daily will make a big difference. 🙏

I needed this. It’s a constant battle for me everyday too. My struggle with bipolar disorder doesn’t make it easier but it’s a cross Christ has given me and I carry it wholeheartedly because He carried His cross for me.

“Suffering became attractive,” St. Therese of Lisieux. Ah, now I understand what she meant. Several paths to enlightenment on this mystery have crossed my mind and heart during Lent this year. I began seeking answers to the question of suffering at the beginning of Lent and the Lord has been faithful providing me with example after example of His redemptive love through suffering. Prayer, meditation, and fasting are indeed beneficial to our souls. Blessings to you all!

You read the bible, and often you think you know what you're reading..and I'm guilty of often taking it for granted, yeah, yeah I've read this passage a thousand times before. First of all, thank you Heavenly Father for moving the hearts of the people who requested Fr. Mark say these words. Thank you Fr. Mark for listening!!! I really needed to hear this.

I love this video! I just attended my first confession after a while yesterday and am so excited to receive the Eucharist today.

Thank you for this, Fr. Mark, as you rightly say, we all struggle with sin. But I take comfort from St. Therese when she said: “If I had all the crimes possible on my conscience, I am sure I would lose none of my confidence. Heartbroken with repentance, I would simply throw myself into the Saviour’s arms, for I know how much He loves the prodigal son.” And in another place she writes: “No one can make me frightened anymore, because I know what to believe about His mercy and love; (Jesus) I know that in a twinkling of an eye all those thousands of sins would be consumed as a drop of water cast into a blazing fire.” It’s joyful humility and childlike confidence in the mercy of God we need to hang on to. Little children don’t seem to dwell on their shortcomings. They just concentrate on living in the present moment in trust, hope and love. St. Therese of Lisieux pray for us!

It’s that big “E” for “Effort” for “Ever” and there’s never a vacation day.

Most of us don't reach the maturity of love until we have travelled down the dead end roads of life. We have to backtrack until we find God's signposts to true happiness.

Fr Mark I pray to my Lord Jesus that one of these days I may be able to go to church confess my sins and receive the Holy Eucharist my heart soul and mind hurt because I can't 😪 and I need him in my life❤️‍🔥for I fall short every day because I'm a sinner and it hurts me because he loves me and he's my love but I'm also a coward for not forcing __ to take me. I have noticed that the more I surrender myself to our God Jesus the more I'm being attacked verbally and spiritually I can handle verbally I don't talk back in a negative way but when I say oh God bless you too it's like they were not expecting that but spiritually when I'm asleep I hope you believe me but they beat me up oh yeah I feel the punches on my stomach the first time they get me good but the second time I yell Jesus help me protect me from this evil🙏🏼 so yes it's a hard road to our Lord Jesus but I wouldn't have it any other way I ask him for strength to carry my cross because I know what my reword will be In paradise 🙌🏼 HALLELUJAH 🙌🏼 I truly pray for you Fr Mark you're an amazing man of God ❤️✌🏼🦋🙂

I have found that even in the most hard difficult times in the struggle, Our Lady's Holy Rosary, on many ocassions, made me aware that Our Lady of Heaven was there and helping me through the struggle I found myself in, in life. I believe that our sufferings in life have a deep purpose. In fact, when you think about it, isnt it wonderful that we have the sacrament of confession to help unburden us so that we can overcome our weakness and depend more and more on Gods grace. Our life is filled with ups and downs, happiness and sorrow. We are meant to come to know that these are the trials which we must undergo, in order to be worthy of Heaven. When you feel discouraged by the endless battle with sin, remember that it’s a journey and that the end will be so awesome. Only do your best and get to the Sacraments. “It is a mysterious slow process”. Thank You Father, we fail to realize that it takes time and perseverance. Our culture tells us it is instant and God on the other hand imparts His grace upon us in due time. The Israelites suffered for 400 years, The Israelites wandered in the desert for 40 years. Jesus went into the wilderness for 40 days. The journey thru life is part of the process. Let’s us count our blessings, trust in God, spend time in quiet contemplation each day with Him and continue moving closer to Him. Viva Cristo Rey!

Father Brian Hayes here in San Diego has taught us about asking for Grace to withstand and overcome challenges in life. Father Brian speaks of his challenges just before he became ordained as a priest. He told us he asked for the Grace to fulfill his Priesthood. He started Eucharistic adoration, the Triduum Masses, a Hispanic Mass and ministry, homeless ministry as well as other things. He updated our Church building that was falling into ruin. One can see he still struggles with life but he has helped us so much. Just like you Father Goring.

I’ve been feeling beat up because I see how proud I’ve been, how easy it is for me to be critical and frustrated with those around me. Each day I try to be better, more humble and more patient but end up being the same person. Feeling defeated bc I try each day to avoid this temptation but can’t do it without our Lords help. I’m still sinning but this message was encouragement from our Lord. I will move forward in hope and not lose faith in his mercy. Thank you Father!

I am addicted to food. I need to lose weight for 2 different operations and even knowing this I still turn to food. I love the Lord and I can’t believe I still turn to food. I love that you shared what St Catherine of Siena said because she is my patron saint. I just love this channel.

I would deeply appreciate a prayer for the ability to fast. One time in my life I didn't have enough food to eat so for some reason I am afraid to fast. Thanking everyone in advance. God bless

Small steps firstly.Try and take those things that make u sin out of ur life. If drinks makes u sin. You full stop have to stop drinking, by taking a pledge if u can’t do it alone. Avoid the occasions of sin, at every cost, because the evil one can murky the waters in your mind b4 a sin is committed as to how serious or not it is. Don’t be naive & accept that you need divine help.You cannot do it alone, graces given & Daily changes can make a huge difference.🙏

If you want to overcome addiction you need to stay very close to God! I overcame two deep addictions by Gods grace because I prayed the rosary every day, went to Mass every day that I could, and I went to confession at least once a week. It was often more than once a week because I would fall to my addictions. I’m now 4 years clean from both addictions! If you pursue God with all your heart he will get you through it no matter how big the hurdle. Here’s an amazing quote from St Louis De Montfort for more encouragement: “Even if you are on the brink of damnation, even if you have one foot in hell, even if you have sold your soul to the devil as sorcerers do who practice black magic, and even if you are a heretic as obstinate as a devil, sooner or later you will be converted and will amend your life and will save your soul, if-and mark well what I say-if you say the Holy Rosary devoutly every day until death for the purpose of knowing the truth and obtaining contrition and pardon for your sins.”

I don't go to mass as I use to and I'm struggling with a bad addiction. I need PRAYERS FATHER. I BARELY PRAY AND I don't pray my rosary as much at all.

Sometimes I think God should just throw me away, not put up with me in my struggle with the spiritual life, but when I fall, I am grateful to be able to go to the sacrament of reconciliation, I always think to myself run, run quickly to God. Pray every morning and every night. Pray pray pray.

This is definitely something more people need to hear. With everything going on in the world, I fear many people are just giving up due to how badly they struggle. I know I have on many occasions.

I was born and raised Protestant. I was 34 when I finally renounced it. When I started RCIA to become Catholic, it was the most wonderful thing. I was introduced to Catholic theology which makes perfect sense of both scripture and my experience in life, and it puts Protestant theology to shame. As a Protestant, I was horrified by my own sin. I couldn't understand why I kept falling, and seemed to be moving further away from God as the years went by, ending with me quitting church. Now as a Catholic, I finally understand, thanks to priests like Fathers Goring and Ripperger. There is a process for sanctification, and we need to avail ourselves of the sacraments to cooperate with God's grace in the process. The Protestant teaching of instant forgiveness for everything (cheap grace) actual retards spiritual growth, in my experience.

It's a great grace for souls to be aware of their struggles, their failures, to understand the nature of sin and its effects. How wonderful it is for souls to struggle against sin, allowing God to work in their lives, persisting to the end.
