This is unacceptable these schools have crossed the line on several children should they get millions of dollars? No they should get something the child was scared to death.

Schools will eventually realize parents have far more power than they do!

can't his insurance company cover that. Isn't that a necessary thing healthwise. It's really hard if it'd district can't afford all these necessary things because of a child health issue. I'm not saying they don't deserve it. But shouldn't there be some type of insurance to cover this from the parent. now I will say if the school district can't afford a person they can't afford the insurance. But aren't there any grants or federal subsidizing or something.

Dad should sue. Yards duties are not specialist or have gone to college to know how to handle kids with special needs and car. OR for any child in school. Yards duties are parents who volunteer or hired sometimes. Yard duties don't qualify just because they have a kid or 2,3,5. THEY ARE NOT PROFESSIONALS

Last time I checked, school is for learning. School is not for managing children's mental issues and meltdowns. While I have sympathy for children who have these issues, I'm not quite sure how schools all of the sudden became the parent, healthcare provider, and teacher. Homeschooling is the best option. Why parents believe that it's a stranger's job to care for your child is something I don't understand. I don't trust strangers to care for my dogs, forget my children.

I agree with you. I have high functioning autism and I’m currently homeschooling because I was abused mentally and physically in the schools. Although like my parents, a lot of parents don’t know how to do homeschooling because they are full time working parents. Homeschooling is not that easy to get. I started suggesting it in fourth grade and didn’t get it until freshman year. So it’s not that easy. It’s also expensive and a lot of parents can’t afford it.

School is for learning. It is their job to teach regardless of race, gender, or disability. No one is asking them to be a parent or a health care provider (even though schools do have a nurse and a counselor on campus), but instead they are supposed to provide a safe learning environment for all who are involved. Part of providing a safe environment means knowing how to deal with and help de-escalate a situation with a student until further help is available. Which when a child starts school they ask for an emergency contact list. That way if the child becomes to much they have someone to call. Home schooling is not an option for all parents. As a parent I don't believe it's a strangers job to take care of my children, I wouldn't go up to some random person at the grocery store and expect them to just watch them, but someone who is getting paid to take care of my child is a different story. Then it quiet literally is their job.
