Firstly Happy Father's day to Unclejee and you as well(in advance) Rajat, As for the color of Dal, same happened with me, I got my Black dal (Rani Brand) from Patel Brothers in LA, and when I washed it to prepare all the black water washed off, and the dal was green---My friend said the same happened with her , she got her dal (Deep) from one of the indian stores in Cerritos---Hum soch rahey they key yeh logon ney color chadhaya hoga--But looks like ithappened with you too, Did Auntijee get this dal from India?

Ye sahi dal hai. After cleaning, it turns into green which is perfectly alright. Also it needs to rub with both the hands while cleaning with water which makes it losses upper dirt.

Rajat Bhai plz don't mind but dont drink with your Father. Bado ke sath ek lehaaz hamesha rehna chahiye. Peeta main bhi hoon or ghar me pta bhi hai but maine aaj tak kabhi apne papa ya chacha ya kisi bade ke samne Beth kar nahi pee or na hi pee kar kabhi mummy ke samne aaya hoon. Yahi same culture mere papa and dada ji ke bich bhi tha woh bhi kabhi dada ji ke samne drink karke nahi jate the kyoki bado ke samne sharab peena hamara culture nahi hai. Essa nahi hai ki kisi baat ka darr hai but i think Bado ke or hamare bich izzat ki ek line hoti hai jo humko kabhi cross nahi karni chahiye essa mera manna hai.
