I live in Scotland and my dad use to take me to Edinburgh International Airport and we used to go to the viewing platform inside the airport where you could take pictures of of planes taking off and arriving and not one copper or airport security officer came anywhere near you…how times change…it’s funny you mentioned Concord we went to see that at this airport but the runway wasn’t big enough so it’s wheels just touched the runway and off it went good memory’s great audit as always

@@power2084 I’m wondering how that would actually turn out in court. Obviously, that statute directly conflicts with 1A, but it was at some point made a law. In this instance, even though there was a bit of a confrontation, when asked to show the policy, which was enforced with that statute, they went up the chain of command, and remained relatively civil & professional. They weren’t real happy(or nice) about it, but they also weren’t rude, disrespectful, or copped an attitude, save for the big guy, Ofc Hornei. I think that came from the fact that they were being filmed, and that they were going to continue to do so until Jason got the official word that what they were doing wasn’t legally allowed. Things can go sideways very quickly, so they’re on guard for that reason. I think Jason was being a little snarky at the end of their discussion, in telling them to smile more. Considering all the different crazy antics we’ve seen from public servants overstepping, being rude, obnoxious, condescending, aggressive, having shitty attitudes, etc, I don’t think this situation, and their actions reflected poorly on them. We go into these knowing the MO for AP & WtW, but the public servants normally don’t know who they’re dealing with. Luckily, with this type of content from this channel, and others, more public servants are being made aware of how to make all types of interactions better for all parties involved, and the assholes are being weeded out, with policies being changed for the good of us all.

I don't know where you are in the wold, but there are Concords you can see. If you ever visit London there is a museum that reachable from there (about 2 hours car journey) at Duxford. You can go into Concord. It's surprisingly small (height wise) inside.

It's not unconstitutional the airport is considered a non-public forum so the first amendment does not apply.

The statute talks of "bonafide" purpose, you were doing that, getting off a plane is what you do at an airport, standing around taking pictures is obviously not.

Same. Must be a "dad" thing lol, because I carried it on to my son, and we watched the Antonov-225 land in Bangor Maine (nearby where I live) a few years ago. It was spectacular seeing basically a flying cargo ship glide above us. He was in awe, just like I was when seeing a Boeing 737 take off or land in the late 80's/early 90's with my dad. Good times 😊

Same here 9-11 changed everything. We had an area my parents would stop on the way back from the beach and we would watch the air planes take off and land. As a teen good place after a date to talk under the stars. I took my 4 children often on the way home from the beach. One week after 9-11 the area was fenced off. My 3 grandkids and I drive past the area coming back from surfing. They will never know how cool it was to watch the planes and the shared memories of many families.
