Watching the sermon with my mom was the best thing that ever happened to me. She hardly speaks about my absent father. Today we dealt about the topic in depth. God’s timing is perfect 🙏🏾

I now understand why I was an atheist from a kid until I was 42. I'm 44 now and after all the healing and forgiveness of my own mother and father I feel safe enough to say I believe in God and know he's my spiritual father. I cleared a lot of feelings and emotions, but listening to this, I didn't realize I had more emotions deep down. Pastor explained it very well.

“You became what you hated because you never dealt with what was hurt.”

Ok my tears started flowing at “what kind of ice cream do you want?” “What ever you want to give me” 😭😭😭 that’s still me. At 31. Not being able to assert I didn’t want sex before marriage at 14 😭 the guilt and shame are still prevalent even after being married 8 years.

If I being completely honest this message was the most uncomfortable thing i ever had to sit down and listen to. I honestly thought that I was pass the Forgiving my dad stage while watching this I was exposed and very vulnerable and in that moment I realized that I overlooked some of the hurt and pain that I didn't realize I still had but I can say now that I'm truly free I feel like a heavy weight had been lifted off of me. I appreciate the openness that Pastor Mike brings everytime and then the ABBA song totally wrecked me in the end

I would like to petition for the Mother’s who have children where the Father’s haven’t been Kingdom Fathers. I decree strength over each and every one of you. That you turn to the Lord to help raise your children. The burden is heavy to do it all but by the goodness of God He will help you. You are not alone. In Jesus mighty name I pray, Amen

This sermon was a blessing. I am going to reach out to my father. I want him to know I forgive him for not being there when I neded him the most. And let him know I do love him regardless of that. I want to be able to say this before either one of us pass.

Always knew I was dysfunctional and this message just made me feel even worse but God knows I’m trying to break the cycles so that my dysfunction is not transferred. 🥺

God revealed to me this morning that I needed to forgive my father. As I was crying I asked him to comfort me. And when I opened my RU-vid this was the first thing there🥺😭 a year old sermon, never been more relatable. “It may not be your fault but it’s now your responsibility”. Forgive them, for your sake.

God showed me through this message that I faked my forgiveness with my earthly father who wasn't active in my life. Today I forgive him 🙌🏾🙌🏾...Lord, I thank you for revealing this to me! I'm letting go!

This whole series has been therapeutic, especially today's. It definitely revealed to me why it's hard for me to pray sometimes. My father left before I was born, so I don't even know what he looks like. I didn't even make the connection of how my non-relationship with him is affecting my relationship with God. At 53 I have just released my father after wondering all these years why I never fit in,and why I had so much fear ,God has shown me it was because my earthly father is still at 80 a little boy. He was an excellent provider but nothing else. This sermon has taught me how to truly walk in forgiveness and release him to God! I am not a member of this church but as I was searching for sermons on forgiveness I came across Pastor Todd and I never expected with what had for me but I am so glad that I clicked on this sermon thank you Lord! I've been skipping past this message for five days. I kept telling myself I had forgiven my situation so the message wouldn't pertain to me....let me tell you. I was so wrong. I had ACCEPTED the situation, but never FORGAVE . I've been living in SAFETY, but not SECURITY. Let me tell you...the ugly cry was in full effect with this message and am so glad I finally gave into the pull that was telling me to listen to this message.

I didn't think this would rock me the way it did, but it was so GOOD.

This sermon; where pastor Todd is breaking down the “copying of a fathers image into his child” reminds me of a sermon my pastor preached earlier this year called “spiritual legacy” and he basically said the greatest gift you can give/and leave for your children is spiritual legacy. Loved that message so much. It was amazing. Learned so much from that message And I just want to add that pastor Todd’s messages / and other Pastors that preach has impacted me so much. It’s funny because at the beginning of the year while I was making my vision board God gave me the word “stronger “. God wanted me to get stronger and then pastor Todd’s word for the year was “stronger” right then I knew God was doing something because he had given the same word. Then, towards the middle of the year I started to back slide and for 3 months I stopped attending both my church and TC Nation virtual services. But the in October I came back God picked me up dusted me off put me back in the race and I started to catch up and there were other pastors that preached but I remember pastor Brie’s and Pastor Charles message on “finishing stronger”. Again I knew God was working. God knew I would back slide so he gave a word to Pastor Brie and Charles “FINISHING STRONGER” to help me get back on course. And I had also learned that TC had done a “7 day end of the year fasting” which I missed during those 3 months so then I decided to fast. During that time with God he gave me another word which is to focus on him. Family pray that I will finish the year off stronger and that next year I am focused on God so that I may be at my STRONGEST at the end of 2021! I declare it in the name of Jesus! Amen I just wanted to share a little bit of my testimony ❤️ Love you TC and TC NATION ❤️

My best friend has lost connection with the Lord. Her father has been out of the picture for a while now and lives in a household of unholy sisters and a brother. She was in my mind the whole time that I was watching this. I sent it to her but she said “no” I said “why not” she said “I’m busy” i the began to say “ ok, watch it later.” She answered with an “ok”. It broke my heart because I knew that she was not going to actually watch. Please pray for her and pray that she can find the lord.🤕💖

I can relate to Natalie’s situation. My father left and I too have a son with autism. I don’t have a loving husband or support for my family. God is all I have.

Absentee fathers or father's who do not understand their impact and role is a challenge we encounter in Africa. Thank you so much pastor this sermon is deep.

Testimony alert: I am so appreciative of this message/ series! This year, I purposed in my heart that I was going to truly find what it meant to forgive, really let go, and move forward with my dad who was the Pastor of a few churches. My main struggle was that he didn't practice what he preached and focused more on the churches and neglected his family. He eventually turned his back on God and left my mom to take care of 4 kids after being out of the workforce for 20 years. I was hurt, bitter, and broken and the childhood trauma was playing out in my adult relationships. This message echoed what I'm hearing in therapy and I am so glad that I'm on the right track! My father and I are taking the relationship slow, but we communicate at least once a week. Through much prayer and letting go, I feel like we are on the right track. Please continue to pray for us because it's easy to slip back into feelings of betrayal and bitterness, but I have faith that we can finally repair our relationship. Thank you God for using Pastor Mike as a vessel for positive and practical change!

My Father died this morning. Our story is lengthy & filled with generations of pain. I got to tell him I loved him last night just before he went into surgery. I’m finally free & so is he. I know he’s with HIS FATHER NOW ❤️

I started this series a week ago and I watched this sermon first. I went back to listen to the previous messages and watched this sermon again today. I decided to forgive my biological father and ask if we could build a relationship together. I thank God for speaking through Pastor Mike through me. I feel like a weight have been lifted from me. I can finally move on.

My dad called me on New Years day 2024 from the hospital to tell me he died of a stroke 30 days earlier, and the doctors brought him back to life. I didn't feel one thing good or bad about it. All I remember were the years of my whole childhood how he terrorized our family with his ungodlieness and drug addiction. I forgave him at 18 years old thanks to the Lord God Jesus Christ to free myself. I don't think he cares how I even survived

Praying for all of the Fathers who are/were unaware of the generational consequences of their actions, including my own father. Thank you Heavenly Father for the faith to forgive our earthly fathers even in the midst of pain and hurt. Thank you Abba Father for being our foundation, for providing our security, sense of purpose and for seeing us no matter where we are. Praying for future fathers to have the strength to be the ones to break the generational impact of absent fathers. Like literally I barely realized it after I watched the message I went into my B group and when it was my turn to speak I spilled the beans. Whoever needs to get some of these foundations built, I would highly recommend Father Fiction by Donald Miller, and Fathered by God by John Eldridge. Of course Jesus is #1 through this healing process, but those two books really impacted my life in regards to these foundations. God bless!

Last year my dad passed from COVID-19. The Holy Spirit revealed to me that when he left me here, my dad hurt me his death hurt me and that I need to forgive him for leaving him and that ABBA my Father in heaven will never leave me. Now instead of seeing God as just God I look at him as Father who loves me cares for me and he’ll never leave me. Wow this really helped me I didn’t know I held that pain and hurt I have to forgive my father for dying & leaving me here 😔

How true it is, i have been so mad with my dad for verbally and physically abusing me, my siblings and my mom... for so long I thought all dads are like that. i did not realize how much this made me subconsciously hate men especially fathers, when i see one, i immediately think they are abusive in their own homes... my dad died a couple of years ago but I was only able to forgive him last year when i was building relationship with Jesus, He kept reminding me of my dad, which i really hated... but God showed me the forgiveness message.. I'd love to see a companion sermon to this of Mother's Unaware. While mine was physically present growing up, the emotional wasn't always there. This sermon has been instrumental in healing my father trauma, time to work on the mother side. Great as always Pastor Mike!

But he is the great ABBA our father in heaven can change the course for our sons and their father and his second family that love will mend the father unaware from past to our generation of our grandchildren to grow in ABBA father. I really needed to hear this. Forgiveness is hard. I don’t want to let go of my dad. I just want him to want me. I just want God to make him want me. I just want to matter to him. But I will let him go because I have faith Our God will bring him to me. It’s all in His timing. Just hurts
