Thank you so much for this recipe. We've made it a few times already! Making it again today! My indian father inlaw said it was spectacular the last time we made it. Now I am on lamb breyani duty for the rest of my life! The pot usually doesn't last long, because we have to drop of breyani and friends and family's houses.
Salaam Fatima. Thoroughly enjoying your channel. My neighbours in London think I’m some sort of master chef but it’s all thanks to your awesome videos. I’m making this Briyani dish for Iftaar tonight. 😊 - Shukran so much for posting these videos. It makes my Ramadan so much better
Fatima love your recipes. I used to visit all sorts of sites to get inspired to cook. Besides for pasta I pretty much only use your site now. Love how delicious and how simple your food is. Yummolicious
Looks delicious...I made my first chicken biryani last week in my pressure cooker...never had Indian food before. This was delicious...love the different variations... and LOVE ALL THE WONDERFUL FLAVORS..Thank you so much ❤️
Hi Fatima, Thanks for another amazing authentic recipe. I knew an elderly part South African part Malaysian lady called Zuleika raheemahuAllah. It was late Dec 1999 (I was 29) as well it was Eid that time, too. She showed me her Biriyani recipe, and I scribbled everything down. I made it myself, and everyone loved it. A so-called friend (Amal 😂of you're reading this you dont need to retun the recipe now) she begged me for the recipe but I worked so hadn't had time to write it down for this person. She told me she'd do it and return a copy or the original to me. She never did. So over the years I've searched and searched this version of Biryani. Today (August 23, I'm 53) I found it!!! I'm soooo happy so thank u so much 💓 💗 💛 💖 💕 ♥️ 💓 💗 💛 💖 💕 ♥️ 💓 💗 💛 💖 ❤ your a star and a gem 💎 God bless you xx I'm going to make this all the time because my sons and I don't really enjoy the one everyone makes these days. It's ok but I'd rather have pilau. My husband absolutely loves Biryani so now I know my sons and I will enjoy this too. I'll be making it more often. I Thank you and i thank God for finding you. This is the best Biryani one could ever make. I love all the slight variations of it in the viewers comments too. Amazing 👏 ❤
Your recipe is very similar to the method my elderly Mum makes it and she is of Indian origin and she was taught by a Mogul chef who in turn was handed down the recipe. The difference is the use of Ghee , Saffron and the sealing of the pot with dough. The side condiment of Dyah ,a sour milk , coriander , lemon and mint sauce. Thank for your presentation!
I love you so much Fatima you are extra ordinary I'm going to go buy your cook book. I adore you and thank you for being genuine. I wish I could meet you
Thanks so much. I don't know if my mom did it wrong but I loved how her end result was the rice and lentils were totally mixed together evenly and I can't find anywhere that is done that way.
I made the spice mix with the yoghurt mixed it well and transferred it in a glass jar and I added couple of tbsp of lemon juice and tsp of oil . And I kept it in the fridge for few days as I meal prep once a week. just so that my teenage boys can do their own breyani but obviously with our ways. Lockdown almal take turns as we work and homeschool too
I love your cooking and my kids do too. Thank you for showing us. My best friends mother used to make these meals when i was younger, it brings me back and how i can make it for my three little ones! Thank you!
Going tru RU-vid came across ur video, Fatima u r so calm while narrating, will surely try for Easter, as of now due to Lent most of d members r on veg diet. God bless you abundantly with good health to upload more of ur recipes.

Well done. I'm learning to cook and your video helps. I love that you don't waste ingredients. Wastage in cooking is a sin, in my opinion. #KeepCookingFatima
I shouldn't have watched this while fasting . . . I can almost taste it. On another note, Shukran for de-mystifying this process for me. I am adding it to my menu for next week :)
Unlike many other TV chefs, you use your hands or a spoon to scrape the leftover bits out of the bowls. That's how our elders did it so we don't waste.
Hallo Fatima❤ Hope you're feeling good today. I'm always thinking of you, even if I don't leave a message often. Congrats again with your new book, I definitely want to buy one soon. I'm busy making your lamb akni, used your breyani mix, I can't wait to taste it, it smells devine. Have a super great Sunday ❤❤❤❤❤
Dit lyk heerlik & ek kan dit ruik & my mond water - thanks for sharing your method - I will definitely make it the way as per this video. Wat is jou spesiale Masala mix ?
Hu Fatima thank you much for this recipe I have marinated my meat tonight, making the breyani tomorrow, but is it ok if we have it the sat only. I dont want the food to go off, your feedback is appreciated, thank you in advance
You did not use all the buttermilk marinade when you took the meat out for frying. Can you add all the buttermilk marinade to the onions or would that mess up the balance of the overall dish?
A real feast for the eyes certainly made my mouth water ..I will try the vegetarian soya chunks and your delicious roti receipe. You bring back lovely memories when my mother used to make briyani. Thanks for sharing Richard ex Kaapstad
I so enjoyed your video. You were so authentic and your beautiful personality shines through...... i could not place which part of South Africa you are from ...... some parts I thought JHB
