Thanks Cricket! Really value your opinion. One small thing, if I may: it would have been nice to have the goggle feed as the main/big video. Otherwise loved everything about it. I’m not compelled to sell all my DJI stuff just yet, but it’s not impossible. Will be excited to see what HDZero comes out with tho. Cheers bro!
Why put the goggle feed so small? 🤦🏼♂️ No one cares about a Hero 10 feed or the onboard recording on a video about an FPV system... We all want to know what we can expect to see!
Nice! Not used to the honesty and unbiased content in fpv reviews... but I like it!!! Can't afford to make the jump to the new stuff atm, but I will asap. You da man, Cricket! As always, keep bringin us the honest takes 👊
I like it!!! This is starting to look really great with firmware updates! Gonna wait till Hdzero goggles come out and see then guarantee one of these systems will be going in both my rigs
Its amazing your neighbours are ok with you ripping there, lol. Looking good the system, I am super happy that not only Caddx-Fatshark aka Walksnail now compete with DJI on the HD front but HD-Zero as standout company now, too! Even Orka coming out with some sort of standalone HD System. I remember when everyone sang 'HD is impossible' and I love DJI for showing how wrong everyone was. More beautiful image quality adds immersion; given how immersive DJI already is ....
even when dji releases V3, and i think it wil be at least half a year after they tell us officially about it, so thats a long time still, but its comming. then i would still buy DJI v2 its 650 euro its a complete package its better for way less, from the buildquality to the actual footage its crazy.
Being this is a goggle review video and not a go pro hero 10 review video, I wish you had the fatshark goggle DVR as the main screen as opposed to the hero 10. Still a good video, thanks for sharing.
from what i understand, the Walksnail version of the goggles takes 6S...not sure why the Fatshark version is limited to 5S. also, was curious as to their decision to make the mounting pattern of the VTX 25x25 as most frames are already compatible with 30x30 or 20x20. nonetheless, looks like a legit system. still not going to switch yet since i have so much already into DJI.
Thanks for the review, man please have them fix the arms on the goat and the standoffs, I know you know. Arms are too thin where the bolt goes through and causes them to snap or bent the bolt and arm pushes back enough to rub props and standoffs strip out cause they aren't threaded all the way through. I love the frame but have to move on do to these issues, have three of them I'm moving away from do to these issues. Thanks again for the review and what you do.
In your first flight video the whole screen is the hero 10 and avatar unit footage. The fatshark goggle video is only in a small square in the corner and that's the only thing that you will see when flying so it is the most important part. The way the camera is mounted there are black bars on both sides that take up about 25% of the screen and because this system uses compression that part of the screen will not use any data. That will make the rest of the image that you do see much clearer.
exacly what i thought... a fatshark review and the whole big screen its from an hero 10... not a good review in my perspective, also the side black bars on the tiny videos are a big help to the system since it will help the system by not having the all image to process. naaaaaa...big nooo for this review...

Thanks for your honest opinion and review. I would be very interested to try them.. I too just want better.. don't care who makes it.. lol💙💙👍👍 well done Mikey
@@CRICKETFPV those are fresh! And the video was great, always good to hear a trusted pilot tell it like it is. I think the only problem with new systems, is already being so invested in the previous system. And as they progressively get more expensive, it's hard to change over a whole fleet of quads and planes.
Fully agree... FS supposed to look like a shark's nose. But I guess that's still better than DJI's cows udder looking like an alien. To bad flying DJI is really great... lol
Employee?? Hmmmm yeah not me brotha . I don’t get paid to do review videos . I have no reason to lie to anyone . It honestly doesn’t matter to me weather you buy it or not , just get out and fly brotha .
After 2 years on dji i got to say i still love my dji system first and only fpv system i felt like i got 100% of my Moneys worth. Maybe the fatsnsil v2 will give us video in, wifi 6 and bluetooth to use ear buds with lol. If i could use this system as a computor monitor i could tell wife its a Is home entertainment system but the second i tell her its for fpv it gets 98% harder to get wife to say ok you can spend $800 lol. Good video
Thanks Man! I'm going to hold off until they get things looking better. I'm tired of being an FPV guinea pig for these companies. I bought DJI V1 FPV goggles just before the V2 was rumored to be coming. Then I bought Shark Byte full system from Getfpv, then nothing but crickets for a bit. Then out of nowhere came HDZero. Doesn't seem that great with exception to latency. I purchased Skyzone 04X analog goggles when they came out. Not more than a month later they came out with 04X with OLED screens (I would have waited and bought those if I knew they were coming). Now Fatshark Dominator Avatar. And it doesn't seem to have been ready for retail sales. Just wait, the Dominator Avatar V2 will come out soon abandoning all of the original Avatar Dominator owners. All of these companies with exception to DJI maybe, are releasing product before it's worked out bugs that it shouldn't have when ready for retail sales. We "Die Hard Enthusiasts" want to support the FPV companies to further develope the Hobby. However, I myself am sick of paying several hundreds of $$$'s for products that end up discontinued and or obsolete. I think consumers should get a valuable single use discount code when purchasing these types of items...JMO. Thanks again, have a great day!
Best advice for everyone: BE PATIENT! Don't be the "early adopter" and wait until the dust settles and none of these bummed out purchases would have ever happened. Just wait, and don't be in such a hurry to run out and spend hundreds of bucks on something brand new... ...Like right now! Probably the WORST TIME in FPV history to be investing in a new pair of goggles, especially for analog, but also for digital!!! The DJI V3 is on it's way, as is the HDZero goggles. Why buy before these two new products come out so you can choose between everything? BE PATIENT! 😎🤘
@@KOrnhOliO1 > with exception to DJI maybe The original DJI release had bugs too and didn't have 50mbps. Also seems like DJI is going to abandon v1 and v2 users with their v3 system.
@@terrysahaidak That "abandon" word is ridiculous! I chuckle every time I see another uninformed FPV'er complain. 🥴🙄 I was in the consumer electronics industry for over 35 years. This is what ALL manufacturers do when they come out with a new product that is a technological break through. They move on from previous tech and go gung ho for their new tech. People in FPV seem to not realize that when an advancement is made in DJI's digital FPV tech, they can't simply put the old tech in with their new tech and make it compatible! This is miniaturization! Tech is getting smaller and smaller and this need to! So, there just isn't any room in the new tech to put the old tech in there, and get it all much smaller! It will be the same size or most likely bigger....and what does that get us?! Nowhere! It's how all companies work! Do you think Sony, Panasonic, Samsung, etc... always put the old tech in with their new tech to be backwards compatible? Hell no! Not unless space is not a huge issue for tech that doesn't need to be ultra compact and tiny. i.e. a new version of a DJI Air Unit (vista). Like a TV, they can have the space to add the old tech with the new, but that's not always the case, as it is here. So, people complaining about DJI "abandoning" them when they go to V3, from V2, need to get educated on the innovations involved with new technology! These are highly miniaturized. Can't just squeeze in the old tech. THERE'S NO SPACE - not if you want tech to advance and get smaller! They bitch and moan about the Vista being too big to make a 65mm whoop, well quit bitching that old tech isn't jammed into new tech and be HAPPY when the new tech decreases considerably in size and increases in performance! Brains turn on. Geez! That's what new tech typically does! And DJI isn't the only company to move on from old tech when their new tech advances the bar quite a ways and gives us what we were always longing for. ALL COMPANIES DO THIS when their products are very tiny! Especially when a new innovation makes the product considerably better. Sometimes, people just can't see past their hand right in front of their face! THINK ABOUT IT! What not being compatible with the old tech means is that the new tech probably, I have no confirmation of this, advances the products quite a lot and the new tech will most likely be way, WAY smaller AND have many more of the features we have been wishing the old tech had. Like higher resolution, full OSD, lower latency, one board instead of two stacked, close to half the weight, etc, etc, etc. We need to ALL open our minds and imagine what 3 years + can do from a company as innovative as DJI! Remember, it's been exactly 3 years as of August 31st, 2022, and new tech is actually being developed long, long before the new tech even hits the market. They were probably working on this new tech a YEAR before this current DJI digital FPV system was released. That's because it takes so long to actually get the product out once the tech is stable and the designs are final. So, that means this new DJI V3 system could be quite remarkable! We'll see in Sept.....😎🤘
@@KOrnhOliO1 it looks like you have no idea what you're talking about. the new system will use same 5.8 band. it means that on hardware level it will be compatible already. most likely the new firmware will use h265 encoding. the current gen uses h264. but could it support both? most likely yes. but dji don't want to be backward compatible. they don't care. I have like 8 vistas right now. dji stops selling these and now I have $1500 worth of garbage.
@@terrysahaidak Seems like the other way around! lol Electronics companies leave one tech behind for a new tech all the damn time! It's what moves tech ahead... For one thing, 8 Vistas would be enough for me for my entire life! I see no reason to need any more, but I looked at several sites yesterday, and there are plenty for sale. Why would they be garbage? They fly just fine, right? You enjoy flying them, correct? Then, they aren't garbage at all! If they work, and Vistas rarely fail, then why wouldn't they work just fine for you, and me, as I have several DJi quads too, for as long as we both want to continue using them. Garbage? Why? If you can still fly them, after V3 comes out, nothing changes for us - we fly them and like them now, why would that ever change? Plus, after V3 comes out, plenty of used V2 gear will be for sale...it'll get cheaper as time goes by, so you want to pick up some new quads or used Vistas, bargains will be there to be had! We don't have to have the newest tech to enjoy the current tech we have now and enjoy flying FPV just as much as we did the last time we flew! Enjoy! I know I will be!!! 😎🤘
8:19 YES! THAT IS WHAT IM FUCKING SAYING. To me, the major difference with all these digital goggles coming out is they STILL USING TINY HALF INCH SCREENS. After I got DJI, like 2 years ago now or some shit, the biggest selling point for me was the 2" screens. Every time I fly with my attitude V6's I'm like "damn these tiny screens are just not as immersive. I've been running the new community open source firmware on my DJI v1's with aftermarket antenna's in 60mb mode & so far been getting AMAZING results. I'd be like set for life if DJI or any other company released goggles with: -large (~2") OLED 120hz screens -image quality being sent to goggles was close/equivalent to the DJI FPV drone -video TX's that provided audio transmission + the same (crazyasf) loooonnnnggggg range that the DJI FPV drone is capable of & That's my 2¢ 👌 Great video cricket much appreciated nice to hear your opinion on the system. I plan on picking it up whenever it's in stock just to see whatup for myself. Also, that construction you got goin on looks like a pretty cool project, gonna look great finished ik sure 👌 have a good one
Think the og feel u mentioned is the image aspect of the screen.thsts y I fly my analog freestyle an my dji v2 an vista for cinematic cause it's like starting over with your point of reference we get ro looking at on the screens of each goggles when judging ground etc....
Suggestion: Next time, because we are trying to get a good idea about how the FatSnail digital system works and it's image quality, just completely leave out the HERO 10 image. Especially as the main big image we see. What does that do to help us understand how the WalkShark digital system works? NADA! lol Just doesn't add anything to the PURPOSE of this video. I was watching the goggle feed the entire time, and bummed out this main interest feed was stuck so small in the upper left hand corner of my 4K TV. Always wondering why we even had a HERO 10 feed at all. 🤷♂ 🙄 Thanks! :)
It is beautiful when it's working, it doesn't seem to like green, there is still latency, video skips, there is still studder. Now I am basing my thoughts not on the hero 10 which was the main screen, I wasn't paying any attention to the avatar system, I was mainly focused on what I was going to he seeing in real time, I was paying attention to the FS Goggle feed and I saw first hand what I mentioned, I personally wouldn't buy it just yet but it's looking good. Thank You.
