About the Gates, there are 2 disadvantages: 1. They have less HP after the fortified wall upgrade than the wall itself 2. They are bigger, so more units can attack them at the same time

I found out about fatslob two and a half hours ago. Watching/listening to fatslob videos since then while I work and planning to do it at least until I finish work. This is great.

You wont ever understand fatslob ways. Unless you play as him. Embrace him. Become. Him. Corner gather points? True legends know its importance. You just cannot grasp its brilliance

T90 I was taught to place the villi's at the base of the TC back in MSNGZ days. I still do it exactly like this. Villi's made for farming at the base of the TC otherwise I forget to put more villi's on farms. lol

Couldn't you in theory just let fatslob wall up, but otherwise just do the same as the slob, and wait for him to push out in the end with an army similar to what he have, but try and keep it back far enough that he dont see it, that would be kinda interesting to see

Since you asked for Fatslob stories: This actually took place during a stream of yours; I had just played in a community game and had never seen Fatslob online before despite adding him to my watchlist, so I figured I would play him and then come back later. Our map was weird; there was a wider-than-average connection between us with a clearing with several golds in the middle. There was also a secondary, very narrow connection at the top of the map. So we had a start much like this one, where I got the forward walls and control of the middle--at the cost of a lot of idle TC time very early in the game, which really hurts. I also took control of the top, and managed to sneak a vil through. I built a sneak barracks, which Fatslob eventually saw and walled up after I got a few militia out. My plan was just to boom and take advantage of the resource control; even though I was at an eco disadvantage from the early vil fighting I'm fairly good at booming relative to my elo. Unfortunately I only built one or two wall layers, and Fatslob won by rushing me shortly after I hit imp.

Fatslob is the reason I got back into Age of Empires. I originally played it when I was about 7, and, as with all games, I liked to take it slow and build up a nice empire. I eventually lost the computer and the disc, and then I learned about multiplayer mode (I didn’t do anything online when I was younger) through Steam. I watched some RU-vid videos, but when I saw that there were metas and it required micro-managing and fast clicking, I lost interest. Then I saw Fatslob and got a “duh” moment, realizing that strategy can still beat skill. I still have only played single player, but I enjoy the game a lot more now.

WHAT UP T90, i believe the villager rally point to nothingness, is simply just a mental thing. as in he just keeps spawning villagers then when he needs some more, he knows to exactly where to look.... just a thought

One thing I'm surprised is red woodchopped through to fatslob but he didn't realise that also the trebuchets shoot fire because fatslobs magic inspires them to light on fire.

The Beauty of a good Trebuchet transcends Age of Empires. Everyone can appreciate a 90kg projectile being launched over 300m.

Speaking as an inexperienced player, I also like to send my villagers to a green. It keeps me from accidentally grabbing a farmer instead of an idle. Also keeps me from forgetting to assign those villagers to their proper tasks.

I love fatslob it reminds me of my father playing aoe2 and i find it cute to play like he does sometimes he have good strategy but i so understand why fatslob does things in his own way

You need to stop making all your other content, and focus 100% on commentating FatSlob videos.

You do not put the gather point on a farm because then you could accidentally move the farmer and because it is easier to see.

Btw, he didn't reach Imp first. Fatslob did.

On the gather point thing, I know when I was starting out I used to put my gather point in an open area so they were easy to click (and see). I didn't set them to straggler trees because then they'd be idle and I could use the idle vil hotkey to go to them quickly. I no longer do that 11

The TC rally point is something you do in starcraft 1 because you cant set the workers to auto mine, you have to click them individually to the resources after creating them. The rally point is for having the new vil easily recognisable maybe

Fatslob plays exactly how my dad played and how I play lol. Dad taught me when I was little, like 4 or 5 and I still play the same way. Even down to putting the gathering point right in front of the building hahah.

he sends his vills to those grass spots so that when he goes to use them, he doesn't accidentally click a farmer. And the vills sitting in the grass spots, are most likely going to be farmers, unless he needs them for something else.

I do want to see another high level guy like Viper or MBL face The Slob. Viper’s game got dropped and I wanted to see how to fight someone who has the counter to everything.

Someone should try a sneaky TC drop on FatSlobs side of the map... Send everything forward, battle on the center with everything but 1 vil... That vil will go sneak the TC deep in, and out of FatSlob's view.

I think you're doing favor for Fatslob, if you didn't discover him. He stays on his comfort zone, never able to grow his skills up I mean Fatslob is still playing Black Forest aka his comfort zone, but at least he didn't quit immediately after being rushed few times

When you task a villager from spawn, and its task is completed en route, it stops and idles at that moment. Spawning villagers into the default location is a solid way to ensure you do not lose single idle villagers. Organized loose ends if you will. E: it allows for more micromanagement of vils and limiting AI to a few set rules

I love the content, I have been able to improve my game seeing skilled people playing it. I love this legend because I kind of feel identified by his style, I hate being rushed and I prefer land closed maps. If you could talk more about efficiency staff and strategies I would love it, I try to hear that carefully to improve my game.

I wonder how well the Fatslob strat works with the Malay.. You could use the lake for infinite fishing traps, you have more than enough wood to maintain farming.. *INFINITE TWO-HANDED SWORDSMEN*

In age of empires 1 the villagers spawn at the tc and you cant change that so my guess is he is use to it and doesnt want to change - In AOE1 there are no gates Fatslob really plays like my an AOE1 player

About the gather point: my father was always doing the same. His reasoning was, that whenever he needs villagers for something, he has them ready there.. e: oh and if they were on farms, they would be harder to see and select

I do the same thing as fatslob with the villager thing, I know I will have idle time but I find it so much easier to see or find the villager and then send them off where I want them to be and actually seem to be less idle than it I had to go looking for it.

Maybe he sends them to be idle so he can use his idle shortcut to find those new villagers... idk

I think it's enough of fatslob videos where he wins...what about showing us some of his defeats? So far, you've only shown us how you beat him or that someone killed him in a vill fight...but seeing 5 or so long videos where the fatslob wins every time....is just a way too boring and expected to see.
