A lot of repair shops would have dubbed this a no fix not because they aren't skilled enough to figure it out but because they are unwilling to commit the amount of time you do. I understand from a business perspective it makes sense to pump through the easy ones and reject the difficult ones when they pay the same. But they miss out on opportunities like this. Wow! You love your work and it shows.

Awesome work mate, i have only just really discovered your work and i love the way u approach repairs, unlike some repairers lately that just don't go in depth with these fixes anymore that ive started noticing? and are just looking for the "too easy" repairs just to get some likes/views. I will be following you more often now cheers for the inspiration for me to get back into the repairs again too.

I have a digital one, i can get the light to come on for literally just a second then it turns back off idk what to do about it. Its getting power, but not turning on.

I JUST experienced this issue. I went back in to open up the PS5 and I cleaned that chip with alcohol 91% and I also recleaned my hdmi port. There is also a big flex cable next to the power cable. I took that out and reseated that and my console turned on. Not sure wth happened here but it resolved my issue. I hope this also helps someone out there.

Having this exact same issue on a EDM-031 board. I often replace ports and ICs but I can't fault find like you do buddy! Any idea where I should be looking for 3.3v? Weirdly enough, this all started after a port replacement that appeared to be successful. I left it running and returned to find the console off 20 minutes later. It doesn't power on but after 30s or so plugged in, the power button beeps once per 30/45s and the eject always beeps, but no lights. I'd be very greatful if you, or anyone here could help me locate it. Thanks!

Yeah I saw that one mate, they just over engineered the first revision to be honest so that's just a cost saving measure. I don't think it should make any difference

I took classes on electronics, but cant even come close to him. If i can only go back and learn all components and learn how they work. I too probably can be doing this to fix my consoles.

Question is can you fix consoles with just a multimeter? Heat gun and soldering skills. And then buy the other stuff.

My console is beeping 3 times upon plugging it in, does nothing when buttons are pressed..I checked the power at the board, it showed 12v.

This PS5 is missing the special sponge on the APU... it was opened before. Idk how you didn't saw it. @ 10:29 It has just the other black layer under it.

Yeah I knew it had been opened before, it died after a hdmi repair and the other place who worked on it removed that foam but the foam isn't really needed to keep the console safe

@@borisdg nah the ps5 had been worked on before but it looks like they didn't apply enough liquid metal. The sponge cover isn't really needed though to be honest to stop the liquod metal from spreading because it still has the plastic cover over it
