These cards look great Jennifer. I like those dies as well. I would have never thought of using embossing powders with water. Leave it to Jennifer to find a new way, or style or just change it up. I have watched this video several times since you posted it….it’s certainly a “Keeper” ! Everytime I watch it I see something new that inspires me to try this! I forgot about the little hearts made from those leaves…wonderful use of color and texture! I had forgotten about your using water to emboss with, love the way we can get that splatter look with this technique. Thanks again for sharing your creativity!

Awesome technique! (Side note: embossing is not just for cards. I had an inexpensive pair of gold hoop earrings, but I needed a pair of RED hoops. So I broke out the embossing powder and gold morphed into red :) The cards turned out just lovely! TFS these faux embellishments!

Thank you SO MUCH for this video! I have so many beloved embossing powders sitting forgotten in a pretty box. I appreciate the reminder to use them and the inspiring new techniques. I love the deceptive simplicity of the finished card, and the tips for decorating the envelopes. It's nice to be excited about embossing powder again!

Hi Jennifer.. I loved this technique video, especially adding the Coptic markers to the die cuts before heat embossing them. I did not know you could to that.... And they say you can't teach an old dog new tricks! Lol thank you for sharing, and have a blessed and created day!

It's been a long time since I've done something like this, but it may be time to bring it back -- an old but goodie! But in all my years of stamping and embossing, I NEVER knew that water would hold embossing powder! That certainly opens up some possibilities!

Who knew water would hold embossing powder/glitter for a time? Genius!! I did get one of the cutting boards as you suggested some time ago and it works like a charm...same for the scissors. Thank you so much for showing us this technique. I make jewellery from paper and card and have just used this technique to make an antique silver coloured frame for a brooch. With the metallic embossing powder it worked beautifully and gave the frame a gorgeous antique pewter/silver look. Your videos are so professionally done and have expanded my knowledge so much. Love everything you create so clean. I also have done the layering technique with card and embossing several times which does give a lovely dimension, (can't say I get as smooth a finish as you mind) but have not seen the water technique usually use a stamp to achieve this effect but will try water as more random, thanks again for sharing your cards are lovely.

I do this method all the time. The only difference is that I glue the die to a piece of 110 lb.card stock and cut it. This way it is not necessary to layer the die because the thick card stock gives dimension. Afterward, I will emboss it.
