In this video, I show some of my favorite places to hang out at Fort Myers Beach, FL. I spend the winters in Fort Myers Beach. All of the places are public parks on or near the beach.
favorite beach on the planet! Thx for showing this vid. I always stayed at a mom and pop motel right on the beach, called The Beacon. Sure am homesick to return, but health hasn't allowed me the luxury. I would always park my beach chair behind the beacon not far from the water, with a good book for hours every day during my weeks stay, only putting my book down to cool off in that beautiful water...or get a icy fresh mojito! Brings back wonderful memories of peace and tranquility. Thx again! Warm blessings and safe travels! Hope u had a lovely stay as well!!❤️🌅⛱🌴🌴❤️
Thank you for this video. I live in Colorado and am looking to move to Fort Myers. This was a great view of places that are not crowded and very beautiful and interesting!
I lived in fort Myers for 7.5 years mostly north fort but spent 2 years living on the beach in a small apartment it was a great place to work and play had a wonderful time if ever get a chance to retire there would do it for the rest of my life
Thank you for the tip about Bowditch Point Park. I've been to Fort Myers Beach many times near the pier, but never aware that there was a less crowded beach just up the road. I'll make a point to visit there on my next trip down.
Thanks for posting, I will be there March 4-9. We have a time share at the Sand Castle beach club right across the street from Lynn Hall park. Stop by and have a beer or just say hi. My name is Chris we are always around the pool. Been going there for 40 years..
Have you been to Bowman's beach park on Sanibel Island and Captiva Island Beach next to the Mucky Duck? Bowman's is my favorite beach there. I have a place in Cape Coral near open water.
.There's a few hidden gems that were not mentioned in this video . I'm not going to give away local secrets, but if you search around enough while you're here on vacation you may find a cool place or two :) .. I live here all year round by the way
Thanks for another enjoyable video as I view from Maine. Appreciate the history you share in your videos. Look fwd to your next one. BTW what rv park do you prefer to stay at while in Ft Myers?
Ty ty so much for this ! Im always trying to find new Ft Myers Beach vids due to missing it so much. So this brought a tear to my eye...unfortunately i couldnt stay/live the cost of living is outrageous. But again ty !!! 🐙🌊🌴🐬🐚
Beautiful. I wish I could spend my winter's down there. I live in Ottawa can do if ever you know a safe and affordable place please let me know. Thanks
Generally speaking Cape Coral is the least expensive place to live and is next to Fort Myers. It has easy access to open water and has tons of amenities including lots of cool restaurants. The cost of living is a lot less than in Ottawa. The west coast of Florida is one of the best kept secrets of Florida. Everyone thinks that North Miami, Haulover beach, Sunny Isles, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, and Hollywood are the places to live in Florida but on average they are twice as expensive and very crowded compared to Cape Coral. Find yourself a good real estate agent and possibly consider a vacation rental that generates income while you're away back in Ottawa. There are vacation rental agents that vette prospective tenants for references. The money you make renting your unit out while you're away could pay for the taxes, HOA (condo or association fees), insurance, maintenance and furniture. You can even lock one of your closets and turn it in to an owner's closet so that you can put all your personal stuff in there so that when you're back there you don't have to go out and buy extra stuff. I would recommend that you do some research in to this but I can tell you that it's definitely worth considering.
area859 This was shot with a Thieye T5e action camera. It was shot in HD 1080p 30fps. This camera is a GoPro Hero 5 knock off. Half the price of a GoPro.
Well, I have seen people swimming in the water - but not many. The water is very shallow (1-2 ft). Also, you have to watch your feet for stepping on shells. Also red tide can be problematic. I tend to avoid going in the water but that my personal decision.
Why are you not showing the town? It had a little Key West vibe. I like most places in FL. Lived there in my condo in Palm Harbor. Worked at a CPA office. Yeah, you get paid in sunshine.
We are from Alaska we thinking to move to Fort Myers Florida . We are right now looking for the home with property of the 2 acres up to 10 acres to buy.
SWFL is full of old people😆 I am from Ft. Myers, Buckingham area with 2 acres, too far from the beach. SWFL beaches are disgusting! Don't buy property in Lehigh Acres😆✌
Alona Pickett - I'm not sure that I can give an answer. Some State Parks have ramps or mats that allow wheel chair access but theres still stretches of soft sand to navigate. At FMB, I'd say Newton Park would be good. You can park close to the water and the sitting areas just off the beach appear to be wheel chair friendly.
I dawg I’d like to invite you to mango Rita’s restaurant downtown fort Myers beach. My wife and I are the new owners as of June 2019. Come see us so we can share our great food and drinks
well John I am actually a local, born and raised in FM and in my 50s,, but I have never heard it called that by anyone I know, . so it just sounded odd to me.
@@karlsandin4515 Technically, true but the Gulf of Mexico is the proper name for this body of water. It's still called the Gulf by anyone the lives on the Gulf.
