This is one of the GREATEST movies of all time. There is nothing that isn’t here - action, suspense, comedy, romance. It’s incredibly hard to choose a fave movie when SO many incredible ones have been made - but THIS? Not only having nearly every genre, it is also unique enough to make the experience of watching it - whether once or the 30th time (guilty) just as enjoyable.
He lost his father to cancer about 10 days before filming...during that scene he has said he imagined he was fighting the cancer that killed him, so the emotion was raw and true and carried through to the audience.
Totally the same. One of the most poignant lines ever. No matter how many times you hear it, it always comes as a powerful, unexpected statement. Mandy Patinkin's acting carries it anew every time.

My first watch of this,I was at an school sleepover. I watched this i the dawning hours. Fell asleep. I woke up dreary and heard the end credits song by Mark Knopler. It made me believe in love,and people. Its so brutal, but READ the books. They flesh out fezzik and they are so comical! Secretly ,I wanted to b Inigo or DpR. I like buttercup better now. Only took 30 years to understand love completely, I have BPD too So I'm not accustomed to love. Or why folks fall in love.BPD says to me that the man I love is "making fun " of me. Its hard to love good people. I shrink from my deepest feelings as I always feel like I'm a burden. A too much person. But when I watched this,I realize we ALL love past our capacity. Our hearts are not a timer. True wuuuuuuuuuv is fluid,and gracious. And it waits for the moment when you can't speak anymore, music sounds like shit,you have multiple injuries from passionate avoidance of all emotions. But.
