Good job on providing your VH rank list! Can honestly say I've never seen DD ranked in the top 5, let alone #1. But very cool to see some different opinions out there!
It's great hearing somebody give a list that isn't the same old predictable Van Halen list. Some people in this comment section are whining about your choices lol. It gets boring hearing the cliche Van Halen list, and yours is definitely more unique which I appreciate! My personal list would be pretty different than yours, but that doesn't mean mine is better. Great video! \m/
Great list. Fair play for picking ‘Diver Down’ as your favourite! I’d dump those 2000 remasters though - terrible sounding, brickwalled and smashed with compression. Original first issue CDs are superior sounding. Or else Mobile Fidelity are releasing the six pack as SACD’s, and those usually sound brilliant. But those 2000 remasters are worthless.
Dig the list ☺️! Mine are kinda similar! Van Halen 1 is my fav tho! The first 6 Van Halen albums are all incredible! The Van Hagar albums are hit and miss!
Interesting ranking. VH3 is easily their worst, but it has a couple good tracks. A Different Kind of Truth has never done anything for me. I’d take the Hagar albums any day Lol. Fair Warning is probably my favorite from the band, but the debut and VH2 are really close, and some of their best as well.
1. Van Halen (1978) 2. Fair Warning (1981) 3. Women and Children First (1980) 4. 1984 (1984) 5. Van Halen II (1979) 6. Diver Down (1982) 7. For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge (1991) 8. A Different Kind of Truth (2012) 9. 5150 (1986) 10. Balance (1995) 11. OU812 (1988) 12. Van Halen III (1998)
12) VH III 11) ADKOT 10) OU812 (great album and sings but Donn Landee’s production is very bad) 9) Fair Warning 8) WACF 7) Diver Down 6) VH II 5) 5150 4) 1984 3) Balance (extra song Crossing Over is phenomenal!) 2) For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge 1) VH Debut album. My ranking one through ten changes all the time depending on my mood. VH III is definitely the bottom and ADKOT is really good but falls short without Michael Anthony. People have to understand that VH always made songs to just goof around Happy Trails, Inside, Big Bad Billy, etc…, Intruder is a masterpiece intro to Pretty Woman. I love Diver Down too. I could care less about covers because when VH plays them they make it their own. Great list!
Agree on OU812, it's just those last two songs I can't get past... I can live with Feels So Good lol glad to see Balance up that high, it's really a great album and totally under appreciated!
My ranking 1. Van Halen 1. Probably my favorite album of all time 2. 1984 The deep cuts make this album. House of pain , top jimmy, girl gone bad. 3. Women and children first. Probably David's best vocal proformance. 4. Van Halen 2. 5. Fair warning. Probably Eddie best guitar work. 6. A different kind of truth. This album is unfairly critzied. The guys were a lot older you couldn't expect the debut again. 7. For unlawful carnal knowledge 8. 5150 9. Balance 10. Ou812 11. Diver Down. Sorry this album just isn't good to me. 12. Van Halen 3. Not Gary's fault. This album just doesn't have the songs. Gary sounds good.
1. VH1 2. Fair Warning 3. Women And Children First 4. VH2 5. 5150 6. 1984 7. Balance 8. Diver Down 9. VH3 10. A Different Kind Of Truth 11. For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge 12. OU812
@@themindseyecmh I like Eddie's playing a great deal on the album. I think it's some of his most underrated work. I concede that the songs themselves are nowhere near as catchy or memorable from the rest of their catalog, I do like that they tried something out of their wheelhouse. And Cherone puts in a solid performance throughout.
