The frustrating thing about all this is for most of the time, he was 100% correct about everything going on. The problem is he always seemed to do the wrong things to prove his theories!! Classic comedy.
@@ahmadhasan8355 Yup, quite literally so. The production of each episode went from them receiving and learninghte script, to rehearsals, to the final acting out of the show in one go, all in six days before then doing the next one.
Mad thing is, after about 36 years of watching Neighbours and Home and Away, I have a thing for Aussie women, some of them are beyond gorgeous and super hot.
Really Basil is unlucky , many of the people he comes up against are bloody awful types The deaf old nag , The spoon salesman , The damn American, and of course Lord Melberry .
I agree mostly, although there is some similarity with Victor Meldrew in One Foot in the Greave. Often they are on the wrong end of other people's stupidity/carelessness but they also bring much of their misfortune on themselves.
I missed the scenes with Mrs Peignoir in the episode The Wedding Party. It shows an even more hilarious example of Basil interacting with the opposite ... er... gender ;). This episodes contains even more similar exchanges, even leading to Polly almost being fired for lewd behaviour... .
