The best sitcom there ever was..It stayed on just long enough to not get stale.Other sitcoms stay on for too long..This was perfect in every way!! Classic cast, classic writing...classic everything!!
In 1996, the science documentary show "Nova" did "Einstein Revealed" about the life and career of Albert Einstein. An actor was made up to look like him for the various monologues interspersed throughout. He did a good job and I was curious who portrayed him. It was ANDREW SACHS! Manuel playing Einstein! But you often find Britcom actors in serious dramatic roles and able to pull off both convincingly. Very versatile bunch!
In a live interview John once said that he and Connie had spoken about a possible return and having them go o holiday and Manuel mistaken for a terrorist.
I have a "Farty Towels" T-shirt.... I'm afraid that it's simply too silly and I don't wear it in public, but I'm going to see John's show in Oct and I'm gonna sit on the very first row in the middle - should I wear it? Thumbs up for Yes, thumbs down for no.
Actually in life they did not care each others. Mr. John Cleese had a " Very interesting..." Alter Ego, and treating people as rubbish and rudeness, but we all like to think in a Charming and cosy way. Definitely best of British Broadcasting, in Norway people like it..., Understand Norwegians... "Communication Problems", R.I.P Andy, " Che?? Che????".
john cleese has confirmed they are never going to do another episode because they are just too old and the expectations would be too high, just leave fawtly towers a classic and dont ruin it with a remake or new episode
When TV hosts and reporters do stories on anything Fawlty Towers or Monty Python related - they always come off horribly desperate to be as funny, don't they? Which is impossible really. They should just follow this advice... just leave the funny to the experts.....
