I;m new to the motorcycle world, just bought an 87 FZ600. The carbs are very similar, thank you for the vid it helped me out a lot in learning about it.
Lovely video mate, pleasure to watch. I thought the same with the bolt missing on the choke slider on my carbs aha threw one in for good measure, haven’t had any issues yet, touch wood. Safe riding buddy, Rich.
Hi, i buy same bike this spring and made some service for it, now i have major problem because when i start motor it stall instantly if i dont give little thorttle, same time it starts leaking gasoline from inlet/outlet hose, now i'm confused that shold those hose are closed some where or been freely? I would happy if u have time to help little, thank u. -Timo-
Hi, I can't understand everything you are saying but I think you need to fix any leaks first. If one or more cylinders aren't firing correctly then excess fuel will come through the exhaust along with a smell but if it's carb related then a stuck float or blocked carb will make you try and rev it on the throttle to keep it going with less than four cylinders running. The plugs need to be dry and fireing the first check to do. Then if you have wet the plugs trying to start it try this, choke off throttle wide open turn over for five seconds then leave the throttle alone put the choke on and let it run on its own if it starts even if it's not running on all cylinders it may take 5 minutes for the other cylinders to come in, if they don't switch off leave the bike overnight or a couple of days as the new petrol in the carbs should melt the gummed up old fuel try the same procedure again remember not to touch the throttle at all, this is all irrelevant if you don't fix any leaking pipes first. Your last course if the electrics are all ok and you don't have any air leaks is to remove and thoroughly clean out the carbs. Hope you get it sorted as you have a nice riding bike when fixed. Bit of advice, mate, don’t bother. You’ll end up spending days taping them up to get the correct airflow. You’ll really struggle to get the mixture right, you’ll be running extremely lean.
I put this kit in while apart and cleaning it's well worth it as the float bowl rubber gaskets go hard and leak, get the right sets for yours as they could vary slightly 👍
i have a issue with my fazer 600, that cylinder 1 ( the left most one ) is not getting warm, i have checked if i got spark with the spark plug ( held the ignition wire with a sparkplug attatched to the chassis ) and i got a spark, when i removed the carb i noticed that the rubber manifold connecting to the cylinders, was wet with fuel, whereas the other 3 that where running, was dry so my guess is that my cylinder is not burning the fule ? not igniting correctly.. could this be a coil issue ? although i do have spark ?
@@oOWaschBaerOo hmm think I would do a compression test to rule out engine mechanical parts IE pistons rings valves gaskets. The coil packs rarely fail if like the R1 and even if it's sparking it doesn't necessarily mean they haven't. I would still go for the carb again as even if the inlet is wet it doesn't mean it's atomising properly. Air leaks on that cylinders carb from splits in rubber or seating problems it normally is the carb in the long run though. Good luck buddy 👍
ok im gona check compression and then test the coils, and if it aint it then i guess i have to disassemble the whole carb and clean it, it happened after the bike was standing for several months after a minor crash ( lost traction and fell to the right side in a cuurve, slid over the concrete for 2m, at lower speeds)@@yamaar1rider im kinda hoping its the carbs or something easy, as its thleft most cylinder that never even came close to the ground

@@yamaar1rider thanks Andy , would you recommend anyone , as , following a heart attack 3 yrs ago ,I’m on blood thinners and anti clotting tablets, and as much as I’m willing to try , I’m shying away from the job, as a tiny cut means a visit to the hospital, etc ,, and I’ve never in my life messing with bikes and cars over the yrs , never done a job without cutting my self ,, anyhow if I watch your video enough times , maybe I could as someone to do it under my instructions cheers shaneweightman , Nuneaton warks
