Hey Jake-I don t know how else to get in contact with you,but I was wondering if you would be interested in finding some evidence for our son's death?He was found floating on a lake in 2014.We are coming up on the day he was found,on December 8th.We don't know how he died,but it is a suspicious death.The only thing of his that we never found is his i.d. and money clip.He was floating,with air in his lungs,so he didn't drown.He wasn't shot or stabbed.He had injuries to his body.We used to have a remembrance there every year,and a brown truck of an unidentified person would be there the whole time.I don't know if this is sensational enough for your interest,but it would be nice to get some more info if possible.

Take a rock roughly the same weight as a gun. And throw it as far as you possibly can. Start searching where it lands. No killer is going to limp noodle the gun.
True, but there are a lot of unknown variables in that. First being how strong the person was, and how the water movement affected where the gun ended up.
@kaitlin6184 he had access to most of that information. With a riverbed like that, the water isn't going to have a massive impact on something with the weight and density of a firearm.

I used to be a commercial diver. A good search technique is to get a long rope. Tie knots in it about every 10 feet or so. (depends on visibility and reach) then use an anchor to hold the rope in one spot. Hold the first knot and go from one side to the other, or 360. Then the same on the next knot, so on and so forth. After getting a simmilar weighted junk item as item being searched for and throwing it from the bridge. Start there. And yes, at 2:25 it appears there could be a revolver upside down laying in the silt kinds under the log.
Under the branch is the Revolver I’m 99% sure ( 5:01 ) Edit: OMG THAT IS A REVOLVER, PLAY IT AT .25x Speed AND U CAN SEE THE BARREL! ( Bottom Right, a little left from the corner, under the branch)
If I were the killer and I tried getting rid of the gun in the water, I wouldn’t toss it close to the land. I would throw that thing as far into the middle of the lake as I could throw. Maybe someone close to that location can get out there and check 50-75 feet from the shore instead of 25 feet from shore. I’d bet money it’s further out into the middle of the lake

Trying to intentionally find a gun is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. That’s when it’s the hardest to find it. Who knows if he was even telling the truth about where he disposed of the gun.
At 2:25 where you grab something just off to the right there's something under some sticks, could just be some bark or something. 2:39 near the middle kinda looks like it 9:10 has something at the bottom right corner
pretty sure is underwater metal detector is in all metal tone so he would have to get every piece of metal , and you dont even know if he would find it , also guns are ferrous so discrimination on the detector also wouldnt work
I don't know but It seems like you weren't systematicly searching... You should use a grid system or section off areas or something like that to search.
I did a grid search at the location he claimed to have thrown it at. Spent hours with a metal detector and a magnet. The other spots are so vast that I have to just go with the flow
Just a idea, but find out what model gun it was, tie fishing wire to something of the same weight, throw it from the bridge and search 20m both sides of were it landed. very rare people drop things from a bridge they will naturally throw a item
Jake, you are a rare, special human being and thank you for doing what you are doing. I think maybe you need a underwater flashlight to help you search for things like the weapon you are looking for. You might want to join up with Jeremy (Youube: Exploring with Nug), because he seems to find nearly every gun in the water that he is currently in.

At time stamp 9:10 you were going into the water I saw something metallic and shining as you walked by. If it's a revolver like you said it might be the bullet cylinder or the barrel.
Consensus from everyone I asked... If they had killed their wife and were going to get rid of the gun in the river.... they would drive to the middle of the bridge where the water is the deepest making any recovery of the murder weapon far more difficult. You appear to be diving the edge of the river bank and unless the killer specifically told you he threw it where it could easily be found, the odds are greatly against you finding it along the banks. I showed a still image of the bridge to very observant and pragmatic friends and every one said, "MIDDLE OF THE BRIDGE WHERE THE WATER IS DEEPEST!" (Next obstacle, which side of the bridge... depends on which direction the driver was going, odds are he would throw it out on the side closest to his travel lane, rather than get out of his car and walk across the oncoming travel lane to throw it over the other side. Without information on which direction he was traveling, it would be prudent to check BOTH sides near the MIDDLE of the bridge.)
This is the clearest water you’ve dove in so far! This was definitely for a good purpose, I haven’t finished the video but I hope you find the missing weapon! 11:57 I'm pretty sure those rods in the elastic band are Air Arc Gouging Rods .. they might still be OK too, they are made from pretty much pure carbon and graphite with copper plating, once they are dry they might be useable, that's about $40 worth of them.

I recorded and the scrubbed through the video visually frame by frame/second by second, sadly I did not see anything however I would share the entire footage you have unedited and scrub through it that way. I bet it is lodged under a rock somewhere, burred in that river gunk or in a plant somewhere, but very commendable of you for going and spending all day looking for it on your own dollar.
I found a gun before and called the police and they were pissed off that they had to come out so i dont ever call the police for nothing anymore! I was trying to help but i will never call again to get treated like crap!!!NEVER AGAIN!

Jake do the world a favor - some how with your following, find a way to put together the resources and manpower to get the felicity ace ( ship that sunk a week ago carrying over 4,000 exotic cars ) out of the Atlantic. It is 10,500 feet down which creates a large difficulty, on top of that the expected weight is around 160 - 176 million pounds.... as you can guess this would take a tremendous amount of work to get out - but would be so very rewarding, and i myself would love to help with this process. 189 bentley's were on board, 1100 porsche's, 500 audi's, 85 lamborghini's, and many more cars. Like this comment so we can maybe give this a shot - would be amazing to rescue those cars before the 6month period where they would start to rust and be not able to salvage and or save.

why dont you use a metal detector you get a wide sweep and its a more effective tool then a magnet. i believe that if you had used a metal detector you might have had better luck.
A metal detector is big and bulky, the magnet is compact therefor also making it easier to use underwater. Plus i dont think electricity + water is a good combination seeing as metal detectors dont run on air
@@acceptyt1728 they make underwater metal detectors for diving I know I have one in Oregon are waters are so clouded visibility suck even when we do a body search we basically stretch you hands out and feel for body parts if you know where they might be. We find all kinds of weapons and things using the metal detector the underwater ones are not cheap though from $2000,to $5000.
Suspect: I admit to this murder. FBI: We would appreciate any public help in locating the weapon. DALLMYD: The FBI called and said they need my help in solving this case!
Often times after they admit to the crime they retract it and say they were coerced. The gun would prove that he did in fact commit the murder without needing the confession for evidence.
Back in the day when I dove areas like what you dive, RU-vid was nonexistent. Your videos remind me so much about what it was like to perform Search and Recovery Dives. Not much has changed as people are still throwing things over bridges, including weapons. Whether they were stolen of used in a crime. What I am not seeing is any type of search pattern you are performing. To make sure you cover an entire area and perhaps don't miss anything. Keep diving, looks like fun to me.
2:25 bottom right corner theirs an item that appears to resemble a firearm specifically a revolver gun another user point it out it's cover in a bit of dirt but the barrel is sort of showing and the butt of the gun is sticking out.
Idk about y’all but if I’m disposing something like that from a bridge I’m throwing it as far as absolutely possible. Maybe everyone was just looking too close to the bridges.
I mean, that's good and well but psychologically people think about that and try to do what other people wouldn't do and they'll just drop it under the bridge
