Terminology. The "AR" in AR-15 stands for "ArmaLite Rifle", and "AR-15" is most-commonly used to refer only to the civilian semi-automatic variants of the rifle which lack the fully automatic function.

That was one of the questions that stood out to me the most. Glad I am not the only one thinking that was insane. And this guy is director of the FBI. Then again, this is the same FBI that is proven to have attempted (failed miserably) to frame Trump for colluding with Russia. When Trump wins, the ENTIRE FBI needs to be dismantled and rebuilt from the ground up. All of our federal agencies need this to be honest. So the guy buys a 5 foot ladder right before the incident according to Wray (and even has the receipt still on him post mortem), but doesn’t have it in his car or at the site? So why did he buy it then and how did he know he would have access to the roof without it? Aerial footage also clearly shows a 10 or 12 foot ladder on site immediately after the incident.

Machine guns were banned with a steep federal prison sentence back in the 70's just for possession of one and it still stands today. What actually is y'all's definition of an assault weapon? We need to know this before we the people decide to accept any possible law you people propose. There are "scary looking" bb guns on an AR platform. Are those assault weapons? Is a bolt action 300 win mag, 7mm, or 308 less deadly? No they aren't...if anything, more so. I offered my life to preserving American freedom by joining our armed forces during operation Iraqi freedom. God allowed me to return home to the states unharmed. For that, I am thankful beyond words but I will be d@mned if I'll allow my own government to infringe upon our rights to access to firearms to protect ourselves against enemies both foreign and domestic. NO...we the people will not accept ANY laws that stand in the way of purchasing or possessing Armalite Rifles or and other semi automatic rifles...period.

Yes, that's what I want to know. Was it an actual AR15. You can buy "assault" kits for all kinds of rifles - cosmetic changes only. What was the actual weapon used?
