All auditors should start wearing a name tag that says Good Citizen to identify themselves and you can point to it just like the cops do when they identify themselves.
I did an audit a while ago after work I had taken one of the guys work shirts that had his name on it when the police asked me about my name they just assumed that that was my name and started calling me that it was everything I could do to not laugh in their faces
I love how you changed your tone with the last guy in the blue shirt.. You showed him respect, gave him your first name and proved without a shadow of a doubt that you're not there to be assholes. Great video.
highdesert, I am retired LE and love these videos. Of all the hundreds of videos that I have watched from the 1A auditors, you are the best. Non vulgar, no-nonsense, witty, knowledgeable, and cordially when respected. You are great. Would love to observe a 1A audit or yours some day. On my bucket list!!
excellent work.i enjoy your videos I often find myself being educated with the information you bring forward.keep up the good work .thank you for defending our constitution.SEMPER FI.
Great job again, I don't understand why they always come up and say not to record them when it's them that place themselves infront of the camera. We learned from Wikileaks that govt is not only recording our images but also recording us in our private spaces and homes. So why do they get upset with ordinary citizens who do it constitutionally?? Boggles the mind.
Jose Citizen we own that federal build fuck them we can take as many pictures of the smelly DOG PIECE of shit federal building! the inside is disgusting 😝 i wouldn't recommend taking a tour inside smells like they never shower
Once he admitted he came up aggressively things changed, respect goes both aways and you showed tremendous class in the end once he respected you, funny how that works!!👍 Now if other agencies could just realize that very simple fact. Stay Safe 😃
I think, in most situations, anyone whose job doesn't contain the word "police" in it is capable of respecting citizens. Even if you have to remind them first to do it. Sometimes even police are capable of it, but it's rare.
Nick Turner I'm older and from South Louisiana originally so I kinda feel this way about most younger people (and a lot of LEO's). Was raised very strict about manners, miss just basic civility people had toward each other. HDCW shows this when even after "bad" encounters he shows basic human respect by telling them to be safe. Commenters hate on him for this at times, but to me shows he has CLASS even when they don't.
Even though I know Phillip is being sincere when he says to be safe, after a bad or less-than-good encounter, it almost seems sarcastic to hear him say to be safe. I know it's sincere, but I'm sure it could easily be taken wrong from someone who does not know he means it.
Agreed, but that kinda shows where this old world is now days, people can, dislike, disagree with, even maybe hate and not wish ill will on others. Hell love a good argument, can be fun with degree of respect.
Robert Allen true I do mean it , even the four times I've been assaulted not one ounce of hate or bad wishes towards any officer, good or bad, appreciate your support
And that's how you make your point and at the same time teach them a lesson and make them understand that they there for us bot agains us. Thank you Phillips for all ur good purpose deeds bro. Keep up the great work my man God Bless you.
They always come at you with that pretense that you even have to acknowledge them or their questions. Their air of authority is disarmed and nullified, blowing away like a sour fart in the wind trailing behind them as they do... ...the walk...the walk...the walk...of shaaaaaaaaaaaaammmmmmmme.
My take on the blue shirt guy, once he recognized you knew you could video, and we're ready to school him, he retreated, and became your buddy. People that do not have the correct information are lied to and ID'd . Great job Phillip..
Great job Philip! we need more people like you so law enforcement officers act normal and do their job right! We're not all criminals! I just donated little money so I can help you to keep up with it.
Na it's the fat ones that volunteer first because they can't catch the real criminals to abuse their rights and beat them, so they volunteer to go after the camera people that aren't going to try and get away
Coming from the UK I’m always amazed at the size of government buildings in the US.They must cost a fortune in maintenance and running costs.Keep up the good work Philip you are the best at challenging these guys👍
One of the best FBI encounters……no….THE best FBI encounter I have ever seen. Most the time the agents are real bullies and have always exceeded their authority and a few times used excessive force and false arrests to stop the legal recording of their premises and employees. Well done Phillip.
I actually saw the "thought-bubble" appear over that guard's head. It said, "OH, SHIT! He mentioned the Constitution. NOW what do I do?" It's like having Kryptonite in your pocket. :)
LMAO! That was a funny one. "What are you doing?", "What are you doing?", "What are you doing?" Like Abbott & Costello skit. "Who's on first, What's on second..." Great job!
And we all know if they could get away with it you would be beat and jailed. The way they throw the car in park and jump out like they are in charge of lesser humans. Narcissistic dung suckers.
You should ask a bunch of random questions like they do. "Where do you live?, Did you drive here?, where did you park, can I have $50?, why do you work here?, etc..
I love your work bro... I feel compelled to point out this is the first fed that acknowledged his aggressive behavior and then continued with a cordial interaction.... We all have internal alarm bells, but once our intellect discerns there is no threat, few can switch gears and be professional like this fed was. I have commented on the bad I must acknowledge the good.
It doesn't do much good to carry "papers" in your hand. They'd still have to call their 3rd grade teacher (the one that STILL tutors them), to have someone read it to them.
I've stopped my car and repeatedly asked you what you're doing, but I haven't said anything. I love my country. I served my country. We need to better educate the people that "serve" our country ESPECIALLY law enforcement.
People like the one who stopped and spoke to you are very rarely questioned or challenged and because of this, they can not accept that they have no rights when talking to you when they are "not on a case."
Just watching my local news with sound down while watching your vid. A local city's flag pole was shown out front of their city hall,on top of the flag pole was mounted a camera above the U.S. flag and I thought how appropriate to today's atmosphere in this country. Thanks for the vid, thumbs up
It's a pretty pitiful state when you have to carry around copies of the law and papers pertaining to what you are allowed to do because police and security guards are ignorant of the law or choose to ignore what citizens are legally allowed to do good work and all the best to you and your family keep up the good work
It's amazing how they always think what they have to say must be obeyed to the letter, but they act as though you are speaking a foreign language when you are talking. Stay safe out there.
Maybe it's about time you guys started holding your hands up in the rectangular-shaped "Do you have your ID" gesture. Do it as soon as you are approached. Might as well beat them to the question.
Terrorism??? They are the terrorists!!! He sure approached you with an aggressive attitude like a tough guy, but walked away like a coward with his tail tucked! Great job as always Highdesert!!!
Great audit. The FBI, along with the Federal Marshals, have usually been the worst actors, often illegally overreacting. This agent actually apologized for coming on too strong. Great work, HDCW.
I noticed in Google Earth that a large Canon office was next door to the FBI building; I wonder if the Canon employees take the opportunity to train their very expensive cameras and lenses with their anti-glare filters into the windows of the FBI building? For that matter, wouldn't it be wonderful if Canon has some customer parking in the rear parking lots so that you could leave a camera (with filters) in your car aimed at the FBI building while you go in and make a few product inquiries.
Phillip, I am watching you as one of my major forms of entertainment now. LOL. Thought you were gonna get mobbed at about the 6:15 mark. I loved the way you handled the agent who approached you. Obviously he is not used to people telling him to get out of their personal space. You put him on the defensive and he had to admit he had come at you in an aggressive manner. I thought you were going to pull the 2010 DHS memo after you mentioned it early in the video. When you do, you pull it like my dad used to pull his belt. And it is just as effective as his belt was. Phillip, you and your son are great. Be safe out there my man.
EOG Here,Excellent video, your style is very close to what Jeff and I do. Two cameras separated by at least 15 feet or more and you seem to always keep those feet on public property. Your demeanor is one of calmness and I know what I am speaking about. WELL DONE
Thomas Covenant thank you Mr Covenant that means very much coming from you Sir, humbled by your kind words and support, I am learning not only about our rights but also about myself in all of this sir, please stay safe and pls tell Mr Gray thank you for all both you do sir
Man!!! Mr. Phillip, you really know your way around people. the bald guy that came up to you in the car....at first you were closed off...but then you opened up to him just to tell him your not trying to be rude....Just an excellent way you do your audits. I really have alot of respect for you my friend.
I've said it before, but I will repeat it: you always do a great job of finding just the perfect balance between being professional and courteous, or defensive/offensive and not taking crap, all depending on how the law enforcement or others react to you. This was another perfect example of that. You came off as the bigger man at the end, and the agent impliedly admitted that when he agreed that he came up to you and invaded your personal space.
jus another opinion , cool only after he knew for sure the lies he was about to tell, would immediately be exposed by someone who knew the laws... Immediately wanted Phillip to be his Bro.... "The friendship of shame"
The funny thing is that he actually admitted that he came up on your personal space. I would say if someone wants to walk into my personal space like that they just may get the beating of their lifetime! In this case it would have had a live fbi studio audience!
Now this is why I respect the FBI. This agent was professional, courteous and even humble. Now the contrast with local police (Don't even get me started with corrections) is that some come across barely a step above the people they're arresting. Like entitled , uneducated thugs.
I've said this before on other 1st Amendment videos, why is it that when you respond to a question with an awkward (lawful) answer, they go straight to the radio? Stay safe.
I like watching these videos, I would like to see one where nobody tries to bait the cops... I get it’s your right to say whatever you want but still just wanna see you say straight up what your doing there and refuse to answer their questions but be respectful, it’s good when they ask for your id and you ask if you can see theirs. Anyway good videos I watch them a lot
You handled it brilliantly then spoiled it by tacitly apologising for your conduct which was well justified, he was demanding an answer which you where not obliged to give, so why make small talk when you put him in his place
The eye rolling of any officer, upon hearing the word CONSTITUTION, just pisses memoff to no end...it reveals a deep seated and systemic throughout all of LEOs(which there are few exceptions), problem and contempt for our rights and civil liberties. This is a very bad sign for this country.
I love when you don't bow down to their questions they get out of the car and puff their chests. And I sit here and laugh and say to myself "Philip is gonna serve them a shit sandwich".
'Press' credentials..OK..I've been all iterations of 'press' like depressed, oppressed, Clean & Pressed and, even, been pressured to prove I AM the press. Which one do you want? Ohhhhhhhh My press credentials have been found to be far too valuable to be let out of the Capitol. Maybe you've heard of it.......It's called The Constitution and the important part for this voluntary discussion is The First Amendment.
If you are truly his dad, then I just say good on you for teaching him not to cower and to just stand his ground. I wish my dad did that. I'm older now. Would have made things easier though.
