The ES1203 is very smooth and has more top end and low end output due to the sheer number of drivers in the system. We have demo'd many of the "line column portable" systems and the ES1203 is by far the best sounding to us IMO. It does what the others just don't have sufficient power or drivers to do. The only other box that comes close is the EVOX12. You would have to have 2 per side of the CS1000 to equal IMO what a ES1203 can do. Don't get me wrong , the CS1000 is a great sounding system and is compact and portable, but the ES1203 just does a better job overall for a tall skinny speaker system.

No as the weight of the speaker has sufficient down force and weight that it is not an issue....Part 2 will demonstrate that, as there was no sound of vibration, etc. in the audio, to be posted soon

after doing some A/B listening i would have to go with the ES1203 or the ES1002, Turbo sound uses the entire column for sound dispersion and it us just a wee bit strange to my ears to hear sound coming from the bottom of the tops on the IP3000. The low end for each of those is similar, but the ES1203 is going to be so much easier to transport.

It is a toss up... the IP2000 does a great job like the CS1000...having the HF drivers on the very top of the IP2000 takes a bit to get use to after hearing the CS1000, EVOX 8, ES802's etc. bu overall does a decent job. I like the tonality of the IP2000 a bit better and has more features with the DSP than the FBT. The FBT can be double stacked though...i do really like the IP3000 the best, but it is a heavy beast, like the db Tech ES1203. I would run the IP2000 up against any of the tall skinny speaker systems that are in the same power range and driver size. We will be using the IP series a bit more in the future and should have some good running experience with them soon.

trinityprosound fantastic. Im eager to hear your thoughts as you clearly know what youre talking about. I like the 3000 too but they are $3500 here in Australia and I cant afford to put 7k into a speaker system for my band :/ I also dont want to carry around a 2x12 sub. I think the 2000s would be a great solution if they can handle a full 5 piece band.

They should with no issues. For comparison I have run our church band consisting of Roland V Drums, a Bass on a Sans Amp, Yamaha keys, acoustic gtr and electric gtr and 4 vocals for a congregation of 200 with the EVOX 8's, db Tech ES503, FBT CS1000 and FBT CLA604 systems. Could get sufficient levels to rip their heads off. I cycle gear through the church band, etc. as a test bed.

trinityprosound thanks for your advice, I decide to just take a leap of faith and ordered 2x ip2000s. The deciding factors for me were the simplicity of transport and setup, packdown etc. I love the idea of no poles or extra speaker cables. They are also a little easier to get here. I've come to the conclusion that buying this type of equipment in 2018 should be pretty risk free when it comes to sound quality. I'm guessing they all sound good, they just sound a little different to each other. My band all run direct with processors and V Drums Etc, into a Mackie DL1608 mixer. We monitor with in ears, so I'm hoping we can get a reasonably pure, high quality sound. I look forward to your detailed review. Thanks again.

Sonically about the same, a bit more power in the amp and folds up nice for transport, but not a huge difference in sound and quality IMO.. nice thing with FBT is you can deploy 2 systems per side for added SPL and coverage and they play together nicely in that mode

200-250 at really respectable levels. we have used for a 5 piece band for 225 and ran Roland V Drums, bass on a Sans Amp, Keys, 2 Gtr and vocals through a pair.
