FC 24 COLCHESTER UTD CAREER MODE - Owen Coyle Ep1 - New Beginnings!
It's the beginning of a brand new series on the channel as Owen Coyle once again leaves India to return back to the UK, the job offer on the table is Colchester Utd a side that has struggled in recent years and other than making an EFL Trophy final appearance in 96-97 have never won anything major in English Football, Owen Coyle arrives with a reputation for wing play but can he turn around the clubs fortunes both on and off the field?
In today's Episode I'll introduce the new manager as well as run through some new features of the EA FC 24 Career Mode including the coach management, the tactical set up as well as team management and the squad hub.

@8:20 EDIT: During the discussion of Coaches I kept referring to hiring and firing of SCOUTS, this is an error on my part, I of course am meant to be calling them coaches not scouts. The Information contained still is relevant I just got mixed up in the title of the staff while talking.

Alright, now I will try and follow your new career from the start! :) I noticed that bug where the game freezes trying to kick a scout, that is not good, but it should be patched!

:) hello Flakey my friend, how much of EAFC have you played, did you get to try the BETA? it seems odd to me that in the minimal time spent between closing beta and the actual release the issue happened with crashing the game when firing your coaches? :o this didn't happen to me during beta but has happened to me in the first week and i only did it the once cos I heard about it. I managed to sim-test an entire season game by game even dabbled using the manager touchline camera 😂 there are a number of returning issues on console too but for the most part I think you can go ahead and play, hopefully with live update they can fix current issues without it meaning you have to restart over.

I havent played much, I recorded 3 episodes so far, so 7 games, but im enjoying it though, its a good one! There are some weird issues as always, but they usually gets patched pretty fast, and for PC users, it usually is that we dont have to start a new save for it,, if so, I will just have to go with it :) @@SetPlayGaming

He's back 😯 have you got a new mic? I thought I noticed you sounded different/clearer in the last WBA vid lol. Crying at sacking coaches causing the game to freeze. That's a new feature because it didn't even happen in the beta 😂 useless monkeys man. Not surprised you can hire the best coaches in League Two because you know what EA is like with depth and polish, or employing any kind of brain power whatsoever. I also noticed that even at Chelsea with virtually unlimited funds, I couldn't sign as many coaches as I needed to reach their recommended star total because I apparently didn't have enough space for them even though I had fewer than half the spots filled. Ihionvien on a rotation role ☠️ Taylor is killing it in the real world so it'd be cool to see if he becomes the main man in s1. Unsurprisingly a few of the loanees have the highest potentials (Goodman 75, Bandeira 74 and Lawrence 73), but then Chilvers and Edwards are tied at 72. Tovide is 71 after an upgrade from the time of my career's squad version, and then Smith, Mingi and Fevrier are 70. Someone tell my Mingi that because he's capped at 63 ☠️ I wouldn't give Kazeem half of the games. I'd bench him for a while, try to get Iandolo on good or excellent form for faster growth and then see if you can get a gap between them so Kazeem will go down to rotation. That's what I did with him and Clampin. I think the name Tovide is from Benin or other French speaking parts of West Africa so it's probably pronounced 'Tovidé' (To-vee-day) but that's just how I've been saying it in my head when I see him charging at goal 🤣 I prefer Chilvers on the right because he's quite two footed but he can also cross and pass as a wide playmaker. Edwards seems raw and wants to rely more on pace, dribbling and flair so it makes sense for him to cut in more. But Chilvers is perfect (and has the engine for) free roam so he doesn't get in Egbo's way anyway 🥲

I do not have a new mic 😉 the issue is that when I record VO while playing the game through capture the sound is nowhere near as loud and prominent, which is a shame. When I record through Sharefactory the audio is improved, IDK why. In Ep2 you will notice the audio is similar to Ep1 at the beginning when we go through the Academy but then should be more clearer in the actual pre-season matches. Idk why they couldn't make hiring coaches a little more simplified but with a choice of say 3 per tactic per position but only have them between 1-2* to begin with so it makes it harder to progress? How about 1/2* coaches for L2, 3* coaches for L1 and 4* for Championship Level then when you get to the Prem you unlock 5* coaches? :/ that would give a bit more longevity and give you something to aim for in building the football club, I have an awful feeling that having these coaches is going to mean like super human improvements and then I'm going to spend half the CM save trying to fire them cos I'm advancing too quickly LMAO.

Also why did Gene Kennedy completely disappear from the team in EA's update but then re-appeared over the wk'end, what reason did EA have to remove him? KEK, Cooper being sent out on loan but only 60 potential, I'll keep an eye on his growth, probably with players coming through I can afford to offload him tbh, Thomas as well a 64 rated guy has gone out on loan but when he comes back it doesn't seem much point in putting too much into him if he isn't even a 68 or 70 potential player? I had a feeling Toveeday was an ALT foreign name but him being listed English I just say it how I see it TOH-VYDE 😂

@@SetPlayGaming ah okay. Good to know for future recordings then! I'm not at all surprised that basically the one new feature in career mode is lazily implemented and doesn't really do anything. So tiring watching a triple A studio that makes billions from gambling doing the bare minimum year after year. And all the former issues are still there. I was fixing controller settings more in the beta than on 23 ffs. I think you'll just have to limit yourself, as you might already with scouts and their star ratings. Or just not bother since tactics don't work and the arbitrary attribute boosts do nothing anyway lol Yeah Fevrier seemed to come out of nowhere but tbf I forgot he came from West Ham. What's weird is he joined in 22 but I didn't hear of him until a few months ago. Maybe he was in the U23s or U21s? Clampin went to VNL with Eastleigh, and I think Coxe went to Borehamwood. Kennedy had a short term loan to Braintree in VNS. I thought maybe he had been injured again 😂 Cooper might just be one of those where if he seems to do well and gains value, you could then consider loaning again or keeping him.

I wonder if EA at some point in a new iteration of FC will finally add VNL, not maybe North and South but the league before L2 would be pretty good, I'd prefer them to focus on making the basics of the CM work better in the long term like fixing Academy, working out a decent code system so that COM teams don't implode after 2 seasons KEK, it would still be nice to see, knowing EA you could be Eastleigh in the VNL and have Cangzhou Mighty Lions in China wanting to loan your striker LeL it's been refreshing at least to see English teams coming to bid for loan players, I'm not sure if we've been super lucky or they snuck that in during a live update or did it in the background later in FIFA 23 cos you're still playing and you got somewhat realistic bids with England and Irish sides. Another league I would like to see is the Scottish 1st Division, as It really doesn't seem likely you could tempt players from SPL down to L2, but after that sharp drop I think Scottish 1st Div might be possible. I'll be posting Ep2 up later tonight should be UK regular time in the morning :-)

@@SetPlayGaming yeah there are far too many issues at the moment, with old/existing and new aspects of the game, for me to not struggle envisaging an expansion. They're far too focused on -VNL U15 level- *oops sorry,* I mean top flight women's football :))) I've only got players out to English/Irish clubs because I turn down buds from Raków, Al-Shabab and FCSB lol. Terry was stuck with me for over a season before Finn Harps came in. It's all stupidly, illogically and rigidly OVR based, which makes no sense because when it's only MLS clubs going for 61 rated players... they'd be perfect for L2? 🫠 What time is regular time again? It's been a while 🤣
