Nah, competition will not work for health industry. New innovations don't appear in months or two, to give meaningful competition, but it takes decades.

All of the innovation occurs at universities, the patents purchased by corporations, it’s then made into a product marked up and sold back to the same people who paid for the hard research in the first place-tax payers.

I think one of the reasons the chinese drugs are priced comparatively to the US counterparts is that the chinese pharmaceutical companies don't want to collide with antitrust law in the US by undercutting their US counterparts by a huge margin.
Or anything serious where you can't get immediate help in the states. It is cheaper and much faster in China and the doctors have more experiences due to the large population
