In my days as a professional skipper I've had charge of larger yachts, faster yachts and what passes today as more 'stylish' yachts.. but this to me would be my personal dream yacht. Timeless elegance, practical, seaworthy, a faultless pedigree, a true seaman's yacht, I wouldn't even need a crew.
Yes, very true so. If you have a small family and like to cruise without the regular problems of crew and related hickups, this is the one that would fulfill all your need.
A truly spectacular classic Feadship, with a first class rebuild by Feadship. It does not get much better than this. The topper without a doubt are those Gardiner engines! I would have this in a minute. Well done and well presented.
I had the pleasure to run the original Monara as Captain, she was 65 ft. With Gardeners. I am sure that you are aware of the Greek translation of Monara , it was the subject of a lot amusement. Jack Smith
Really lovely yacht. I remember the first yacht I went across the Atlantic with had a pair of Gardner 8L3B engines. Made for a very relaxed crossing, they were far quieter than the engine room ventilation was.
as a Hot Rodder, I LOVE those engines. they are gorgeous! what a good idea to add a window to the engine room in the main salon. now to find one for my next build...
What an amazing boat! Love the classic lines and the very high quality of details! I've watched lots of yacht tours and the "follow along map" of this, just far surpasses any of the other. Great job!
Such a lovely yacht. I am not sure why the Passarell needs to always stick out. I would have to fix that too inside while underway, but other than that it is absolutely lovely.
Simply spectacular...wouldnt change a thing. 2500 nm would see me cruise down the east Africa coast from Mombassa to Cape town ...perfect vessel for that.
Lovely David, Just lovely! I'd love to park that in Dark's Bay, Cronulla, Sydney. I could see a few friends wining and dinning the night away carefree...
The boat is beautifully specked and looks lovely, apart from the main lounge. The choice of furnishings looks like a hap-dash mix of the sixties and bad seventies. Otherwise, yes please 👍
Definitely not as beautiful as CeFeA but... nothing is. Monara is a very nice yacht. I don't understand indoor carpeting on a yacht (except to save money) and there's several cheesy interior details but it's a nice refurbishment.
What a beautiful yacht. The attention to detail in the restoration is obvious. I’m not a qualified buyer but I’m do have a question. I think you said she has a range of 2000 nautical miles. My question is what is her cruising speed. If you mentioned that in your presentation then I apologize for missing it. I was probably lost in the visual part of the presentation.
If something is on the market it should state the price. The fit out is very basic, the engines are one of the best makes and performer's but hard to find engineers with the required skills and knowledge to do them justice nowadays.
That is one elegant lady. The master stateroom was an amazing one for such a relatively small vessel. I would like to know her sailing range. This is a boat I could see myself using quite happily. Some of those vast magnificent ones seem a bit soulless.
I would like to convince you to consider the benefit of yachts built stem to stern academic keeling design. That is a yacht that is deepest point in the bow and the shallow stern academic keeling design. The other aspect is Edison generator and dynamos power plants to power the yachts without fuel or pollution. An edison generator is easily built from an old car generator. The Tesla magnets binding the generator are chiseled off and inverters can be added to gain house current AC voltage. Then you have unlimited electric power for unlimited range electric motoring with screw pump jets and unlimited RO water and unlimited hot water. If you have upright sailing with world-class sailing speed. The luxury qualities are dwarfed by the modern and academic technology.
This is the perfect motor yacht. I would want no other yacht. Unfortunately my resources limit me to about 2M at the moment… so I can only dream of owning her.
Looks like there's a passge from the main cabin to the crew area via the "wardrobe"... I like that. But I'd far rather have Teak decks than all that carpet. I wonder what's under the carpet? Love the Salon/Engine room view....possibly unique among Yachts. If possible I'd extend that brilliant idea a bit more. Gardener's engines are a work of art.... _form following function_ to provide visual perfection. Enter any Marina anywhere in the world and all eyes will be locked on you... the 40 and 50 meter yachts shamed by the perfection of their elder sister. So better not screw it up. Dress for Dinner....Absolutely! Revamp the "Sun Deck" to a proper *Boat Deck* with 4 Davits to launch a diesel RIB on one side and a 22 foot sailing Dingy (small diesel inboard) on the other. Round South America where the problems of the Northern Hemisphere don't exist amd visit every port on the way. My idea of Heaven on earth.
A beautiful vessel, sumptuously restored. I'm bound to say it's not my style. One might suppose from the layout that those on board spend all their time just sitting about eating and drinking, because there's dining tables and seating just about everywhere, and not much else. For myself, even as a retiree, I have other things on my mind than my appetite. And I've no desire to laze around in the sun for hours on end, desiccating my dermis and developing melanomas. So, at the very least I'd want a sailing dinghy, jet-ski, scuba-diving gear and compressor. Being old fashioned (like the yacht) I'd want a small library/study because I still read real books made from paper. I'd want a home cinema because I like old classic movies. I'm also into stargazing so I'd want a fixed gimballed mount for some giant binoculars - say 20x150's which could also be employed for nautical use. I'd also like a handheld wireless facility so that the vessel can be additionally steered and driven from outside the wheelhouse. Oh - and no saloon is complete without a bar. And maybe a small gym could be worked into the scheme. Otherwise it's almost perfect...
Very nice looking boat, nice engines, but it if I had it, it would be strip on the outside and altered also even I love those engines, they would have to go, to expensive running, I would switch to diesel-electric, which would increase its speed and distance travelling
@@pascalekaiser1396 -- Okay, I went back and listened carefully. He says, "It gives the boat close to 2,000 nautical miles." I misheard what he said. I thought 32,000 nautical miles seemed a bit much. Ha ha
Rhe exterior design is still astonishing elegant. In contradiction with the interior, owing the looks of a camper of that age. Poeple who do like Bauhaus might like it. I do not.
Maybe join the modern era and the rest of the world to either use the metric system or use a calculator. Most phones allow you to use converters, google metric to imperial conversion, real simple. Also typical yank assumes they are the centre of the universe lol😂
this chap's speech mannerisms transform 70 percent of his declaratory statements into interrogatories. very distracting and it detracts from the presentation a great deal.
@@kenrehill8775 You must be a lot of fun at parties.......I'll bet people's faces light up with joy when they see you walking into the same room as them..🤣
Give this yacht to Aquaholic and he would create a brillian review! This one unfortunately with its kaleidoscope of pictures interrupted by talking persons is not impressive, sorry.
