I wouldn't say they are underrated. For us growing up in the 90s and early 2000s Fear Factory has been one of the most influential bands in metal. The band was ahead of it's time when they first came out and they remain unique-sounding and interesting to this day. And it's been like 30 years.

You aint lying, i honestly just kicked myself in the ass because this first time i have looked back onto FF in 17 years, only to find these dudes still putting it down

It sounds like Christian rock its what dino been talking about for a while on how he wants to do more heavy music but tim wants to do more music like this me and my dad use to dog this song everytime it was on but now i can appreciate it alot more now that i listen to more music that isnt metal but it still sucks compared to fear factory's other songs

Born in 1970 learning guitar in 1980s Randy Rhoads got me started Eddie Van Halen Jeff Beck Jimmy Page. I learned alternate tunings. Fear factory is my favorite band and have been disappointed much like Randy Rhoads and Ozzy. It died too soon. I feel your heart and we will figure out forever. I can play it backwards forward and find my way through the silence

+Slave Laborist What? Genexus Heavy? Common, did you ever heard Concrete, Soul Of A New Machine, Mechanize? these are the real Heavier Albums from Fear Factory. Even Obsolete, Archetype, Transgresions and The Industrialist are more heavier, rather than this new whole record from them. Genexus it's an ok album, the same standard as Digimortal but more heavier, groovier and more reworked, but with little slower at the tempo progression. Even Digimortal is more Faster than this. The only heavier songs from this new album are the Genexus song and Battle for Utopia. I should say, Genexus got the worst Burton's voices ever. Hope is not the beginning for his end as the vocalist for this band. ...... Or even the band itself. Because, Fear Factory means to me; Faster & Higher velocity Tempos, Creativity, Heaviness, Complexity. But this albums lacks on everything. But at least this is not a bad record anyway, the whole album is really faithful. But i'm still waiting for their really Master Piece. Maybe it's gonna be their next one. Not this. I want a Soul Of A New Machine 2. Not another recycled ideas from Demanufacture / Obsolete / Digimortal.

@Matiu Russell In all fairness, they put in the time and hard work in Fear Factory. I wish they could bury the hatchet and bring the original lineup back. They haven't been the same live since the split.

Burton quit the band a few days ago

@Matiu Russell You´re right. And so Burton has quit the band recently. Such a hiatus is not new for FF, but I´m afraid this time FF is over. They are fighting for so long about band name and so on, that now I think Burton has just enough of it. We will never know what really went wrong in the band, but I think in the end its all about royaltys/money of course. Sadly FF is not the first band that collapses due to former members going down the ugly legal road.

They are releasing their new album "Aggression Continuum" on 18th June this year.

I looove Fear Factory, and i like TBM but i think Fear Factory should stick to do what they do best.... badass music... and not this cheesy crappiolla... As for TBM "Walking with strangers" and "Happy Birthday" are their best songs.

+The Bolt Thrower Fear Factory albums usually have an end chill out track section. Its a coherent track list structure, just like Soulfly albums have their own Soulfly I-II-III...etc tracks at the end.
