The Fear & Hunger OST was created/put together with varying degrees of originality by Miro Haverinen. It wouldn't be here without the samples of Taira Komori, Loop Loft and freesound.org.
I’ve never played a game that instills such dread in me as this one does. It really captures that whole, “You’re not supposed to be here.” feeling so perfectly. Especially Ma’habre.
my exact feeling when i entered mahabre, everything i've gone through before was okay, but right when i entered the city i felt like i should stop playing. Like i've been to a place i shoudnt be in
For some reason, out of all areas in the game, this one genuinely scared me the most. The darkness, the ghouls, the OST. In the present, the red man crawling... not necessarily after you (initially) but seemingly trying to escape his tormentor. So close to getting out, too. Then, solving the puzzle and going to the lower level. When I saw the text "You can feel the presence of the gods," it didn't make me feel any better. I didn't know what to expect. There are zero jumpscares in this game, but the ambiance absolutely has the same effect. It's great!
Huh, that is Le'Garde. I had a thought it was actually not him due to how the look here and in game appear a bit different, perhaps he's more withered looking here. Makes me consider he's invoking some kind of power for battle, and you don't know exactly where this battle occurs so it could be something notable after the game takes place, if even just barely
He’s also cutting off his left hand, and back in those days, having a dominant left hand was thought to be potentially demonic. Combine that with him throwing up a symbol of peace, and this may very well be Le’Garde severing his ties to ‘sinful’ (human) behaviors and the notion of peace. This symbolizes his path and ascension to godhood.
After watching that video...I feel exactly how he described always thinking about this game...obsession. I got to this part of the game and heard this track with headphones on to the max. The end with the bells legit started to fuck with me. Very anxiety inducing.
I don't know what the hell he was talking about with the voice being too high pitched to be human. It sounds like the dev got a clip of a regular girl singing and added a few effects to it. My girlfriend has a higher voice than that.
So fun fact for whoever reads this, i played this music with my dog in the room and they started negatively reacting to the music, barking and freaking out lol. its interesting and slightly curious if its something that affects normal dogs. but with that said im not playing it with her in the room XD
The ill-boding nature of some of these machinations, the immorality of it all. The presence of such entities demoralizes our already fragile minds into a hapless mess of broken sentiments. Unworthy and unwilling to fare deeper into the madness. Only death remains the likely answer to resolve our suffering. Or perhaps... It might be that death may only be the gateway to something...truly terrifying lying in wait. Only time can tell. God Bless and may your perseverance be forever the more rewarded.
@@rurazar1686 Yet the sweet yearning for the abyss from which the demon life snatched us for this brief and desolate hour shall finally arrive at a conclusion once our crimson is splattered upon the King. May your vigilance remain steadfast, for the scene simply scratches and etches upon the mind yet seems to mend the soul itself!

and yet to fight fate and shrug off the ultimate destination of the dungeon's rancid stomach where you must stew and rot and burn in disgust is complete waste. take your place in the future, be it in the shackles of a god or in your own misguided foresight, for once you may miss the fear and hunger driving you mad here and now.
I love this kind of music. It always reminded me of a game I played long ago called: Dungeon Siege. The soundtrack to that game also had similar vocals to Fear and Hunger.
I went back to this playlist to find just this song's name but I ended up playing all the OST's, again. Love it. I'd love to make my own dungeon diving game with similar soothing music like this.
One thing that I find wierd is how come you cannot pray on the literal body of the All-mer to gain affinity, but you can on a statue of him dead in a cross?
