We made it through cokd weather to our cache and saw the falls at Whitewater Falls viewing area. We ended our day at Thompson River campsite. contact. moate1@msn.com
This is awesome Kevin. The water on this trail makes it one of the best! So glad you paced yourself to enjoy it. Keep on trucking and stay on the path!
Those falls are awesome😍 Glad you went to see them. 8 miles a day is not bad at all. If you keep at it, of course, you'll be able to add on to that. But I think you've got the right idea of enjoying the journey now. There is so much to see and to enjoy. I just came upon your channel and I've enjoy this. Thanks for taking us on your journey😁
Good advice on the filter and that waterfall was amazing 🤩 I gotta say, I couldn't do this in seven days either, I completely get it. Good idea on the luco tape for preventing blisters
Wonderful waterfall! Icy water bladder tip is certainly a pro tip. Good to see Durston Pro 2 in action. Krizakoni showed how to pitch in tight spots. Injinji socks do wonders for my blister-prone toes.
Yes that was a first for me. I slept with my filter, but left the bag out. I was surprised when the filter stopped working and found the ice clogging it. I guess I will have to try those socks.
The land of the waterfalls! Agreed. You need to know your limits, but it is ok to push yourself past your comfort zone. Just don't overdo it or you will blow your knees out. It is about the journey and I am glad we get to share these moments in time my friend!
No doubt how white water falls got their name! Nothing wrong with knowing your limitations (even if you feel you over-estimated them). Good (not-so) pro tip 😁👍
Great idea reusing the food bag to cook potatoes. I'm right there with you on 8 miles days, that is what I prefer right now with my fitness level as well.
The falls are spectacular! Looks like they've added more to the bridge since I was there plus that new route. Nice. Have you considered toe socks to help with your toe rubbing? They've worked wonders for me.
I have 1 pair of those Injinji socks , but I never tried them. They did add that cable between bridges and lots of new bridges and benches along the entire trail.
Those falls are super nice. Amicolola did a better job with their steps though. I didnt video that part as you cant without a bodycam. Very steep and treacherous!
It's good that you realized your limits befree you went and overdid it day after day. Pretty sure we've all overestimated our capabilities. You know it might take you longer then you thought but you're out there doing it and it looks fun.
I watched Jeremiah Stringer and his friends do this hike. They pushed too hard and his wife and friend didn't finish because of it. I did finish it just took extra time.
