Truly, the end of an era here. These videos have always been amazing and one of my favorite series on RU-vid! This one was especially amazing, Forgotten Land really gave us so much lore content. Thanks, Meteorz!
I know you stated that you don’t enjoy bringing real life science into video game lore… but I’d like to mention something that explains a bit of Void and its relationship with all the other bosses In one of the four Kirbillion pause screen texts for Void, it describes Void as an entity of chaos most people think of chaos as destruction and explosions and fire and stuff *however* there is another more scientific definition for chaos, related to entropy. Chaos scientifically is disorganization, for example, if your room is organized and divided by sections like clothes, items, furniture and stuff, it is organized and not chaotic. However as your room becomes more disorganized, the objects start to spread about and no long can be distinguished into groups, the clothes cover furniture there is trash scattered about and whatnot. An example of something purely chaotic in science would be something that is a mix of *everything* into one completely thorough soup, like there is no distinct parts. This connects a lot of things to Void, who is an embodiment of chaos, so if Void is chaos, and chaos is a mix of everything into a thorough soup, this explains how Void is connected to all bosses, because it is made of all the materials that every boss is, Void is even described as the origin of everything. So since Chaos Elfilis is also made of chaos, it would make sense that it shares similar attacks to other bosses, because it is also made of the same stuff that other bosses are
i fuckin love seeing the kirby lore develop, like holy shit we used to be at nightmare and dedede and now we're at death incarnate butterfly that has followed us throughout the series, origin of ancients, kirby and dark matters origin point of existence and mostly every other beings soul form, and cool little flying squirrel guy that can open interdimensional portals
Reminds me of the myth from one of our civilization where one of the primordial god whose name escape me defeat Tiamat the incarnation of chaos and then use her body to built and create the world, bringing order to chaos.
More frequently in engineering classes, I've also heard chaos/entropy referred to as the act of universal balance. While a little grim sometimes, looking at aspects of Zero and its behavior this way is pretty interesting. Some other youtubers have done some cool stuff with it, too!
In greek mythology, the Chaos is even stated as the primordial void, which caused the creation of the universe, everything. Being the source of everything. 1. Remember how Void is also stated in rough translated decriptions as "origin of all", "progenitor of origination" (meaning the origin/source in and as definition itself), etc. 2. Void Soul, being stated as the "Essence of Chaos". I mean, it could hint to the collected emotions and its decision to what it should become too, but it cannot be a coincidence, that they especially used chaos for a being called Void out of any title or being they could've chose. They could have used "Essence of Evil, Malice, Insanity, whatever", but chose Chaos for Void. (Remember, that essence means something like the core or/and being of something). (Similarity to the greek mythology). 3. If you look up the greek mythology symbol/art of Chaos, it resembles a one eyed being with arms, legs and a big sun behind it. If you remove the arms and legs and remember, that the sun is a star, than look at Void's Dark Matter form. It looks like a star with 1 eye. (It's orbs becoming a spine). Even in it's true Astral Birth incarnation, it starts to glow bright like a star. Perhaps there are more details, but there are for sure multiple hints, that Kumazaki was inspired by the greek mythology of chaos.
Imagine your mind being so powerful that after you die you take the body of someone and scatter pieces of their soul around a separate dimension of dreams and memories you created, replacing their life force with your own. This thing is so damn broken (I say as if making broken villains is anything new for Kirby).
Plus creating interdimensional gate ways whilst in a weaken state, and surviving Morpho Knight's absorption, yeah congrats Fecto, your official one of Kirby's most powerful enemies, let's see how long that lasts XD
Another thing to add: if the Ancients (likely humans) only escaped the Forgotten Land *after* obtaining Elfilis' powers, and from there colonized Popstar and its surrounding planets, that could disprove the long-running theory of Shiver Star being Earth.
My headcanon is that the new world resides in a different dimension. A separate multiverse, more specifically. Shiver Star could be the Kirby multiverse’s version of the new world.
5:52 I guess you could say Forgo went out of their mind after Morpho Knight's defeat End here we are! We're at the end of an era, now that Meteorz has said this'll be the last Kirby Canon I love how reliable these videos are, and I'm genuinely going to miss this content terribly, considering I've been watching since Robobot's release, a whopping 6 years ago... This final Kirby Canon video was pretty well-done, and I wish the best for your future!
It truly is an end of an era. But who knows, maybe meteorz will go back to making content even if it is in a few years or so but if not, we will still wish the best for him
Any connections to Void most likely came about after the Ancients encountered practitioners of magic as they were very big on technology that is now revealed to be partially based on Fecto Elfilis's abilities. The Nova might be built with both knowledge bases as Fecto Elfilis seems to be another entity that doesn't have an immediate connection to Void until it met Kirby.
I'm going to miss having this series as a resource for future Kirby games. It has always seemed the most accurate and thorough when describing the lore. Nevertheless, a great video to end off on!
@@kurobones2092 Meteorz made a video earlier this year explaining that this will be his last year of making videos because he wants to spend more time taking care of his new child. The existing videos will stay up (no reason to remove them), but this is the last Kirby Canon episode from him.
@@kurobones2092 Well there is RPG Monger I suppose. He did a 30 minute video that explained the lore up until Star Allies mostly pretty well, and his video on Forgotten Land was also pretty good and even featured some info from the original Japanese version like here. Even when he gave theories, he admitted that they were theories instead of presenting them as fact.
There's a small working theory that Elfilis is as to Dream Matter (mentioned in the European(? I believe?) Void pause screen) as Zero is to Dark Matter. Both Elfilis and Zero have a distinct mission driven by nothing but destruction Both Elfilis and Zero appear to be driven by negative energy Both Elfilis and Zero have had a piece of themselves split away due to said piece being too pure (Elfilin, Gooey) It's fun to chew on. Especially since this could mean that the Zero we all know and love could be... "incomplete." Just like Forgo.
Hooray, a new Kirby canon video, and perhaps the very last one! Cheers to all the years of geeking-out over Kirby lore friends💖 PeaS: It's a bit of a stretch for some people, but I genuinely do believe that Fecto Elfilis is a reincarnation of Void. Kirby games often rhyme, and such is the case with this game as well. Elfilis was a once partially *innocent* creature that *devoured* everything in sight, having the power to *conquer worlds* and master of *dreams* If that doesn't spell Void to me, I don't know what does. And what's the deal with the *spear?* We may never get an answer, but it is quite strange how the only other warrior final boss in the series with a spear is Aeon Hero...
With everything we know about elfilis, I also think it's possible that he is a reincarnation of void. This part is personal headcanon but this is how I think void works: Two types of emotional energy (positive and negative) and 4 matters (darkness, dreams, heart and soul), the beings that are born directly from void are made of one of the Matters and the experiences they live shape the type of energy, but if they suddenly experience both types of energy, their bodies become unstable and fall into chaos. Zero is the clearest to explain, negative energy dark matter. Kirby if he really is a reincarnation of void I think it would be positive energy dark matter (kirby and dark matter share so many similarities to be a coincidence). Void Termina (Not astral void) was negative energy darkness matter but because of kirby and his positive energy he fall into chaos. Elfilis is dream matter and negative energy and by consuming morpho he entered in a state of chaos. And Morpho, although I don't have anything as argued, I wouldn't be surprised if it was soul matter.
I thought time flowed faster in the forgotten land, I think that idea was put forth by RPG monger. It may or may not be another explanation for the time gap between DeDeDe's and Kirby's arrival.
One time, I remember making a joke that with how disturbing Kirby final bosses are, William Birkin’s final form would one day be the final boss of a Kirby game. …So when I got to Fecto Forgo, you can imagine that I had never been more horrified that I was right.
Hard to believe that this is the end already. I’ve been watching this series for at least a few years now and I’m gonna miss it dearly. I hope you take care out there!
The final one of these. I *actually* was here since the announcement of this series back before Robobot came out. I’m happy you made the Kirby Lore more well known.
There's one aspect of Fecto Elfilis that you may have missed: the spears it uses, both mental and physical. It LOVES using those spears. What was used to seal Void Termina inside the Jamba Heart? Four weapons called "spears of the heart". How did the Ancients make them? By copying and possibly improving on the spears Fecto Elfilis used!
While it may stem from this small translation mishap, the Kirby series often uses 'Star' as a pseudo-suffix to denote a name as being that of a planet. It would make sense for the Forgotten Land's planet to follow that naming convention.
I've been looking forward to this video since The Forgotten Land released, but now it's sort of bittersweet. It's sad it's the last Kirby Cannon video, but I suppose all good things must come to an end, and it's been one heck of a ride so far. Thank you for all of these years of great content. Enjoy your life with your son!
Considering this game exposes the possibility of who the ancients once were, that being humans, It raises the question: What does that mean for Adeline? The only thing that's really known about her is that she's an artist and she's the only known human in the Kirby universe. There's still a lot of questions about her backstory that could answer some more things in Kirby lore. I hope it gets explored sometime soon.
The reason why the Japanese version refers a planet to a star is because in Japanese, the word “Star” can also mean “planet,” (星/hoshi) even though there is a word that means planet specifically (惑星/wakusei). Take that information if you will.
I know this series is over, but there's one thing I've observed regarding Fecto Elfilis's design: it bears markings similar to Sphere Doomers, which are also beings capable of interdimensional travel. Both beings even sport wings! The pause description for the fight against 2 EX Doomers in RTDLDX state that they took on a different form a long time ago. Taking all of these facts into consideration, is it possible the Doomers were once the same species as Fecto?
I really appreciated this series, man. Thank you. Fecto was a very interesting boss. Little by little we're getting to know more and more about the Ancients and what the heck did they do-- or why. Wherever they're from or what they actually are, I hope we eventually get to know one of them. Besides... Hyness, I guess.
Forgotten land was the real lore builder for the series. It's a bit of a stretch, but the portal that shows up in return to dreamland match the shape that sucked up the waddle dees and kirby. Maybe a connection? Still, it's crazy to see how much you just proved that this really is, the ultimate lifeform
Infinite claps, this is very well done. This series is one of the things which got we interested and become a fan of Kirby. But as the curtains close and the shows end, others may take the stage and shine as bright as the stars before them
I wonder what all those hamster wheels containing the Waddle Dees were for. It Fecto could've escaped at any time, it couldn't have been to power the life support, right?
I remember following this series a couple of years back when I was looking up kirby lore videos. I was really getting into the lore and these videos gave me my fill. Even though this is maybe the last one, I'm glad to have stuck around till the end!
Just my thought, that Fecto Elfilis is one of the four heroes of yore, alongside with Galacta knight and Morpho Knight, also forms a contrast with Kirby(Morpho), Meta Knight(Galacta), Bandana Dee(Fecto Elfilis), if the next game could show us more hints about them, or a boss have hammer-like thing as weapon... Damn, I'm gonna miss these. You're a big reason why I fell in love with Kirby lore in the first place. I loved Kirby games and their final bosses like crazy, but when I realized there was a bigger picture going on, it was just MIND BLOWING!!! As much as I'd love for you to keep making these for new kirby games in the future, you have more important things in life to worry about. Good Luck with everything!
Thanks for all your amazing videos! Many loved them and congrats on 50,000 subscribers! (Just watch HAL release the craziest plot for a Kirby game after this.)
This is a world we live in, when sometimes it’s too hard to say goodbye to those very close to us, and this is a major example of that. Meteorz, thanks so much for all this Kirby lore over the years, and we’re sure gonna miss you after 2022. Goodbye and good luck
Here’s my headcannon I believe that the people of the forgotten land are indeed the ancients and when they left their planet they most likely went to the Dreamscape from Kirby clash where they further advanced their technology and spread their influence throughout the cosmos. This can be seen by the several dream fountains found throughout Milky Way wishes. At some point through their travels they discovered the mystery’s of void , and they may have even incorporated some of voids power or influence into their technology as shown through the master crown. However some individuals began to study it further while others feared it and chose not to mess with powers they couldn’t fully understand. This disagreement is what divided the ancients between the scientific and magical ones. One side chose to stick with the already amazing powers they had and could explain through science, technology and reason through their studies of Fecto Elfilis and his “spacial teleportation abilities”, while the other side chose to delve into the dark depths of magic and unknown as they witnessed void in its “shining form” and the sheer destruction but also possibilities it can create. Despite these disagreements they were able to coexist and together lived in a time of great prosperity. At some point though after witnessing what the true power of void and the magical ancients held the scientific ancients chose to banish them away in fear of their power and y’all know the rest. With friendship and unity being one of the key themes in the series I think it was this divide and ultimate betrayal that led to the downfall of the ancients themselves and if they would’ve just accepted their differences and worked together things would have been different.
The time difference between worlds is clear, when elfilis close the portal at the end, and after a few seconds he appeared back at planet popstar, when u go back to waddledee town he tells you that after closing the portal he was unconscious and clawroline took care of him for a while but for kiby they were a couple of seconds
Meteor, as someone who's been watching since you first tackled Galacta Knight, I just want to say thank you for creating what is in my opinion the best series on RU-vid. Learning about the depth behind this universe and all the characters inhabiting it made it easier to appreciate the Kirby series for how great the games really are, and because of that I have you to credit for almost half of my knowledge of the games' lore and for the countless valuable memories I made playing new Kirby games because of the interest in them you sparked within me. It's been a long journey, and I'm glad you were able to be there with us through the thick and thin! Best of luck with raising your child, and here's hoping RTDL Deluxe turns out amazing!
I find it pretty interesting that they are re-releasing Kirby Return to Dreamland not too long after Forgotten Land. Maybe this time we get some more backstory about the lor star cutter, Magalor and everything else.....should be fun.
6:00to 6:06 This means that all the animals that got consumed by forgo, including Morpho Knight, has been consumed forever, meaning no more morpho knight bosses or themes
Why did it take hearing you talk about Forgo’s dreams and memories and such making up an entire reality and guaranteeing its survival to make me realize that this thing is the closest the _Kirby_ series has gotten to a true Lovecraftian Elder God. Like, even more so than Void. And here I was being relieved that this game (apart from Morpho Knight) was largely removed from the lore for Popstar’s and Halcandra’s dimensions, but then here comes Meteor theorizing me to be wrong… (Also real science is great and I love when it’s integrated into otherwise fantastical settings you shut your face, boy)
Kirby games have a habit of taking previous story and remastering it as a new one. Seeing the line of positive/negative bosses, the Taranza/Susie/Clawroline connection, the primary antagonist being driven mad by something higher... this clearly hasn't changed, but Forgotten Land's been one of the best! More of the story was given clearly this time, but I will always appreciate one of these. At least one concept always ends up clearer, like a plausible way for Dedede and Meta Knight to have had time to explore before Kirby arrived (I had just assumed multiple portals), or making Fecto's journey feel much more hardcore by arranging translations with the other data, and/or a comparison with the traits of other ball bosses that almost adds a minor theme to the whole series (just some of the emotional generation stuff). P.S.: For a long time, some (ancient Greeks?) believed Lions specifically mated with Leopards. This may have been a myth, but what are myths if not decent inspiration for stories? Do you/anyone here think Elfilin should have gotten more? Maybe at least a filled ear by the end? Love that description! Wait... the opening captions called you... Meteor. All this time, and Meteorz wasn't your direct name!? Speaking of slight differences, isn't Fecto's pod the "Eterna" Capsule? I tried my best to withdraw from the Kirby-internet before Forgotten Land came out to avoid spoilers, and that's mostly been the case since as well (sadly didn't really work out anyways). Before that, I avoided the K64 series in hopes of playing it soon semi-blind. It'll be hard to forget pieces of videos like all about 02 and what happened with Shiver Star, but Dream Collection did finally arrive last week, so it feels worth it. I doubt you'll really see this or remember, but both of those reasons are why I tried to say thanks for the series so much on that one KLR stream several months back - figured it was the last chance in a long while. This is still the first of these videos I've seen since, but I'm assuming your plans have remained the same? For reasons a little difficult to explain, it's genuinely hard to look at this game for long, but even if you're ending here, I'm excited to watch the rest of what you've made since the game released! This channel has been like a gift these past few years, and no matter what you do, I want to wish you the best of luck. :)
Another way to explain the time difference is time flowing at different speeds on popstar and the forgotten lands. if that is true, then at the end of the adventure they might pop back home and find only minutes have passed at all.
you ever think about how we never see the waddle dees running on all those wheels get saved and are also never added to the waddle dee counter for the town
