It'll take a lot longer than most think. We're likely going to be circling the drain, slowly but surely seeing standards of living getting worse and worse, for another decade or two, before we face the inevitable bankruptcy. Who knows, but that's what I'm thinking, they'll go to any lengths to not go bankrupt (whilst doing nothing to actually fix the systemic issues causing it).

Canadians can’t afford housing , food or heating but hey !!! At least will have clean teeth ( only if your eligible) lol I can see employers starting to cut dental benefits from contracts and it falling on the back of taxpayers. Dental should only be covered for kids and seniors the rest should only be included in work benefits imo

I don’t understand how 9 million Canadians need dental care and the cost for 9 million Canadians it is $15 billion. I think it would be better if Canada just give 9 million Canadians each $1 million they will never ever need again. Dental care they can pay themselves. It will cost a lot less money.

If all these programs keep using household income as a threshold we need to start taxing household incomes not individuals incomes. A 2 person household each earning $50k per year will pay $7,500 less in tax than a single earner household making $100k in Ontario in 2023. Why does this make sense?

Because a two-person household has far more expenses than a single person. a two person household with 100k combined will still have less money at the end of the year compared to a single person making 100k
