Coming back to this video to remember, I remember this very day, me and a few friends watched and listened on a discord call with him, i miss those days
Wow silverstreet really has to get their act together and either restore or replace this thing lol this is the worst its ever been, I just hope it doesn't fail when its needed most. But besides the siren being on its last legs i love the drone footage
Honestly at this point it needs to be replaced lol. If I can recall they weren't doing any maintenance on it and leaving it to die but idk. Great video none of the less.
Nice! sounds like the springs for the solenoid gave out because when it pulls in it won't pull out keep me updated if you can about it its getting very interesting on what it's doing...
Damn this thing it getting pretty bad. They need to badly restore it. All it needs is a new paint job, and new solenoids and it should be good unless it has other problems too.
YIKES that's not good at all. Well at least it fixed itself. I just want them to take that thing out of its misery and replace it. sounds like a weak spring, and god knows what else
It’s fixed you know, chopper motor isn’t replaced but was fixed and so were the solenoids not long after this video was taken. I heard they were supposed to work on it a week prior to the test but they were busy but then they worked on it later on.
@@YourAverageMODude145 The whole point of buying a Thunderbolt 1003 is to use the solenoids. Using the solenoids does minimal if not no wear at all. Usually if a solenoid goes bad, it can be one of many problems. It could be that the boxes around the solenoids rusted so badly that water got in and shorted one out. One or more of the wires could have come loose. Something may be messed up in the RCM-3 panel (such as loose wiring or a faulty contactor). Lastly, the solenoid could have lost its magnetization, but that is highly unlikely.
Its actually most likely gonna be fixed really soon. They were supposed to work on it the week before last week, but were busy with other stuff in the county. So they might work on it this week or somtime soon.
You folks are blessed to have such a great old Thunderbolt 1003!! I would bet that the return springs in either solenoid would be a standard item that could be bought at any good store that sells machine tools and parts... P
@Joseph Lee Quite possibly, Federal used standard hardware-store-variety return-springs which could be bought most anywhere, and could be replaced fairly easily by anyone who is handy with tools... This siren was designed to be maintained by people within the communities that ordered and installed the Thunderbolts... P
