Kapolei, Hawaii
10/3/2022
11:45am
For this months test, I was originally going to Wahiawa to film the Thunderbeam they had there. But we ran into traffic before reaching Kapolei and it was 11:35am so we decided to film this one which was the nearest one.
For anyone wondering how loud it was, I’ll say, I’m impressed.. Impressed by how quiet this thing was LOL. I’m guessing it’s drivers must be going, but they seem healthy to me.
But it was fun to film nonetheless and was my first time hearing an MC controlled modulator this up close! It was also my second time ever hearing the whoop tone in person. The last time I heard it in person was around early 2018 when I tried filming a siren ambience at Geiger Park.
The sirens here in the Kapolei area use an additional whooping tone after the alert/steady tone. This is used to indicate HAZMAT (Hazardous Materials). This is due to Kapolei being home to an industrial park and a crap-ton of power plants and all. So this whooping tone is used for when something goes horribly wrong there.

Feel free to use any of my vids but please credit me if done so!
This is a reupload, the original video I posted had an audio issue that caused the sirens audio to be pretty heavily distorted. I was able to fix and repost It. The original has since been unlisted.
Enjoy and Mahalo! 🤙
