People asked for one of FeeCo Depot, so I tried to replicate, to some degree, the feeling of actually being there and make it somewhat immersive. The sound effects stop after 5 minutes or so, then it's basically just the music for people that just wanted that with no diegetics. I hope you enjoy. :)
Mate, I did not expected a train to pass by. And then I saw those in the background. Brilliant job! Make my soul melt, FeeCo was my favorite environment from Exoddus. Edit: Holly ****, a Greeter!! 😊
@@revantisdale I think I'll have a video tutorial on how to get these (or any video) as a wallpaper soon. I could also look into that wallpaperengine too though, that's a good idea!
@@enterbalak 'little bit'... almost a spit in the face considering it's the original creators behind it. Generic, flashy action / crafting game set to boring 3D backdrops. Literally everything that Exoddus wasn't, and they marketed is 'the game that Exoddus should've been'. I don't buy it. Exoddus was rushed but it was just as captivating and cinematic.. meh, I'm ranting up the wind.
@@omnirhythm Glad to know I'm not the only one who felt Soulstorm was a huge let down. Too much flashiness, felt nothing like Exoddus. Should've just followed the same concept as New'n'Tasty, at least that was a solid remake.
@@joaomonteiro9619 Yeah, New'n'Tasty was way better for me. I don't hate on anyone who loves Soulstorm etc but I personally feel like I was shot directly in my heart :(
@@omnirhythm Exactly! I had so much expectations for Soulstorm, expecting a remake similar to New'n'tasty, seeing all the zones with new visual upgrades and gameplay, but they went a totally different way. It's a good game but I feel it lost the exoddus essence. What really was the last drop, was their decision to completely exclude bonewerkz, probably my favourite section from exoddus as it felt so different and had such a catchy music. Maybe one day we will be blessed by a genius fan that pulls a complete exoddus remake with the new n tasty engine. One can only dream 😂
THIS IS SO GOOD... This song always returns to me from time to time... The only thing that i actually disliked 'bout Soulstorm was the lack of remixes of old songs~
Agreed! I actually considered a part where I mix in Soulstorm's music from FeeCo Depot with the Exoddus track, but there wasn't really a distinct soundtrack specifically for FeeCo Depot in Soulstorm so I didn't so it. It's a shame really, would've been nice to have had hints to it in Soulstorm!
@@pupbenny Indeed... Soulstorm gave a familiar feel music-wise, but waaay different... Will always love the Feeco depot theme and the Aslik theme as well! ;)
Yeah, it's definitely one of the best in the game, imo! It's probably the place that sticks in my mind the most from playing it when I was younger because of it.
I like this tune so much, definitely my favorite from Exoddus, although (combined with certain songs) it can give you serious nightmares if listened to before sleep.
I can just imagine Vice President Aslik just chilling in his Office watching the Trains go by, not a care in the world and watching his Moolah go up... at least until Abe arrives...
Yeah, it matches that really well! I played the FeeCo level on Soulstorm yesterday but with the music off and this track playing instead haha. (Did the same with Slig Barracks and it's theme lol.)
Soulstorm was good but Abe's Exodus is simply phenomenal. I hope the wonderful folk over at Oddworld create a full remaster of this game. It's my favourite game of all time. This ost is just one of the many reasons why it is.
@@pupbenny I hope so, I'd love to watch you play it. I love your play throughs and your funny comments you make as you play. Abes Exoddus was one of the best games from Oddworld so far, brings back many good memories for me playing it as a kid, being so excited to finish school and get home to my PlayStation to play it. 😊
Yeah, it sounds like it a bit! I'm terrible at knowing how sounds are created and sometimes wonder what instruments and that kind of thing were used to make particular noises.
I would but Lorne Lanning forbids me from doing so because Stoopy is secretly the true mastermind behind the Magog Cartel and he doesn't want me giving away this epic twist.
The far background image is a photoshop I did combining background images of FeeCo from Exoddus. I took the files for the train model from Soulstorm and recreated the animations for it in Blender (and did a bit of work to make them resemble how they do in Exoddus a bit more) and then animated their movement path. The structure this whole interior scene takes place in is, ironically, the exterior model of FeeCo from Soulstorm. You know in the Yards level how you can see FeeCo Depot in the background? This is what that model looks like from the inside. I retextured it using textures from Soulstorm and recoloured the Magog Cartel windows to be greener. For some reason, although FeeCo is definitely yellow, it always had a greeny-yellow feel to me in Exoddus so I was trying to recreate that, as opposed to the orangey-yellow from Soulstorm. Once all the animations, etc, rendered I put the pieces together in video editing software and then adding smoke, other effects, sound effects, etc and just made it look nicer. There's a lot more to it but this comment is getting REALLY long lol.
Do you think the reason for having crawlers alomg the track rather than wheels can be because of low track maintainance and rural disasters which damage track? Cuz crawlers can crawl over something like that better than a wheel can, proven by the chosen method of human mobility.
Thanks very much! I used a few things, mainly Blender, but for that background image of FeeCo Depot I used Photoshop mainly and just edited screenshots of FeeCo from Abe's Exoddus to try to make it look a bit interesting I guess.
pup what would you say to a exoddus remake. for me that would be the news of the year! man i love this game so much. best son/father memories! ps: i own faulty copies of this game and oddysee, one day i will give them to a museum. i think, besides me no one had this issues. at least nobody i know or asked. i don't remember which game had which problem but i remember that in one game at paramonia abe was not able to jump over a gap because of wrong programming and the other issue was also in paramonia, he was not able to get ahold of the edge in the last part. my dad sayed he reached out to O.W.I by callng the number on the booklet and that they sent us a new copy of the game. do you know anything about this problem? sorry for my bad english and grammer man.
ha no problem, don't worry your english and grammer are fine! :) I've never heard of those issues with the game before, that sounds really interesting and rare! I know very early versions of oddysee had a major bug in them but i don't think it was that. I'd certainly love an exoddus remake it would be really fascinating to get to play that! :) I know someone called Sam Locke is currently working on his own exoddus remake called Twice Ze Flavor, so that's something to look forward to I suppose. :)
I don't think, was very disappointed of Oddworld Soulstorm,.I feel more like I'm playing a rayman game than Oddworld. The saddest part of it is to read the comments of its creator saying "he would have liked to do that at the time but it was not possible because of the limitations of the console, so they had to fall back on that". To me it's a bit like saying that the exodus from abe that we've always loved was "not what they wanted/ crap". Well, the new concept at least it is... (for me)
It is kinda peacefull just sitting back and watching the trains run on time. Just a normal day like we had hundreds others. Before that blue guy came along. We really destroyed a world in that game depending on the view point
