I'm converting the old computer room in the garage into a grow room. Yesterday, I ordered my AC Infinity tent, soil, nutrient line, and seeds from Humboldt. Yes - I picked up a TDS/pH meter as well!
I run 2 dwc buckets in a 2x4 tent with 2 600 watt blurple leds. I have reduced the nutrients down to 1/3 of the dosage recommended by the manufacturer, and had zero nutrient burn. This last weekend, I increased the ratio to 2/5, very slight increase, and I now have nutrient burn on some leaf tips. I did also add a bloom booster, which may be contributing to the burn. Once again, all good information. Keep it up!
I am like most of you... I love big beautiful fan leaves, and I love to keep them green and having pretty plants... but I saw this guy, Mr. Canuck and he strips most all of those fan leaves away and he gets huge yields and I was thinking maybe you don't need those solar panels so much when you have guaranteed light 18/6 a day... I haven't tried it yet, but it is almost flower time for me... what do you think, Scotty?
Mr. Canuck is a good grower and knows what he is doing. You need your soar panels, but the buds need light too, and the plants do well with the air flow.
Potash is used primarily as an agricultural fertilizer (plant nutrient) because it is a source of soluble potassium, one of the three primary plant nutrients; the others are fixed nitrogen and soluble phosphorus. The three major plant nutrients have no substitutes, but low-nutrient-content, alternative sources of plant nutrients, such as animal manure and guano, bone meal, compost, glauconite, and "tankage" from slaughterhouses, can be used. For some reason they didn't mention vermicompost. But key phrase low nutrient content. Been thinking of adding grow dots in my outdoor super soil mix. Around the outside of holes. If roots are searching they will need it.
When the salt content is too high in the root zone it pulls water from the leaf causing tip burn, that is your first sign. This reduces/reverses turgor pressure and slows/stops feeding. If its really bad you can kill the whole plant this way.
Scottie said when your plant gets almost purple/darkish is from too much nitrogen, I've noticed that it can also be from too much magnesium. I've had my plants turn dark purple from too much cal/mag in Epsom salt.

Absolutely grow dots works with coco, a mix of coco/peat ect.. there quite universal in use, and yes you can use other amendments with the dots but use sparingly... less is more and keep an eye out to see how your girls react.. wish you the best of luck!
Grow Dots work great in coco just don't let the pot dry out or you will have salt build up that will cause problems, when use the Grow Dots with Coco it is best to use a sub irrigated planter like our Real Buckets to keep the coco moist at all times. As for the New Millennium additives we have had many people say they have had great success with winter frost and other New Mill additives.
What up Scotty Real I reuse my dirt so is it ok if I buy some grow dots will I have to flush my dirt or just go for it I usually only use gia green and general hydroponic as a booster now and then
You can reuse your soil, you may just want to treat it like it was a lightly fortified media and use the dose recommended on the nutrient calculator on our website.
I think my problem is not watering enough so when I do water I feel I need to give nutrients with the water cuz plants didn’t have any of either for a few days or more.
I have tried the Grow Dots in a NFT recirculating system and found too much nutrient build up when I did. I am not sure how it would work with and Ebb and flow set up, I would be interested to see if someone could get it to work. If the system is just wicking up the water it may be fine, but we won't know till someone tries.
What kind of production is there with grow dots as opposed to conventional bottle nutes? Is there a big difference? Do grow dots also keep pH stable or do you need to adjust your water?
when combined with the right environment, Grow Dots will produce top shelf plants. The Grow Dots themselves are not PH stable but when combined with a once a week application of Recharge there is no need to worry about PH.
I ran a side by side using coco/perlite with clones. 1 cut only grow dots 1 cut GH 3 part and they performed identical. The difference was the bottled nutes needed pH down and the grow dots I used tap water out of my well at about a pH of 7. My money and time is on grow dots

I have only fed with them so far but I tried a couple of those little trial $10 grow dot packs they are absolutely killing it. None of my plants are burnt.
When using synthetic nutrients in a coco based or similar media, (to include super soils),dry back will increase EC! This is what causes most tip burn issues if not all of them. With all of your "alleged" grow experience Scott, how is it you don't know this fact? And if you do, don't you know you will be held accountable for your greedy hype? That's a fact. Look around you Scott, you were given all that you have. Dishonesty carries with it accountability, sooner or later. Accountability is coming for us all!
