HI, for those of you at the end or at any point of this video dislike or are concerned about the fact that I use crates. When you have a large pack of dogs sometimes fights can break out. For us we have all different sizes and a chomp from a rottie to a mini Aussie or chihuahua could be potentially fatal. We use crates at feeding time for their safety. My dogs are not in crates all day I am fortunate enough to have a significant other that works from home! We appreciate your concern and we welcome any questions from our audience! Thank you, APACKSJOURNEY
my dogs go in their kennels when we aren't home! it's perfectly fine for them to be in there and our older dog sees it as her space and goes in there a lot just to take naps :) our younger dog really likes us so he doesn't go in as much lol
Hello! I know this is somewhat old, but I want you to know that the water bottles can damage your mink's teeth, I suggest getting a small dog or cat water bowl to help prevent this!
why are people hating for crates? Crates help with house training, pack control, pecking order training, and a whole other list of things. Crates arent bad or abusive. I’m pretty sure they don’t lock their animals away all day like you guys think they do.
I agree, I always start my puppies in crates but I think people jump to conclusions that they spend most of their time in the crate which is False. I use my crates for feeding the younger dogs so their are no accidental fights :)
ApacksJourney Same here. I only have 3 dogs and we have a 13 year old dog who is ALWAYS fed first then my sisters husky mix who is 2. Then finally my American Bulldog mix who will be 1 on the 8th. My dog eats in his crate away from all the other dogs. Due to feeding them in the pecking order they all know their place.
You know, the alpha pack theory has been debunked by the exact person that created the theory right that’s old and outdated. It’s not scientific fact, I’d say do more research because this is false information. Crate training can be great if the puppy needs some downtime or you can’t supervise your dog
@@hennessygarciahg hey! So I posted this 3 years ago and I have since been educated in this area. I do not agree with alpha theory anymore and I understand it has been debunked. I agree with you 10000%
@@katiedunmon1427 yes also there’s been studies on aversive methods reward-based training methods is the best way to train any animal. There’s been scientific studies on that unfortunately there are people that use these methods.
Nice video! I enjoyed it a lot. Also just asking not being rude or anything, but for the ones that are crated. Are they crated all the time or just for them to eat? Have a nice day 🙂
No we just feed them separately, the three in the crates haven’t matured enough to be left unattended so they are crated whenever we are not home which is rare because my husband works at home :) Thanks for commenting!
the minks need more enrichment and toys to play with and things to climb on. also the rabbit cage is wayyy too small i’d recommend building a big wooden cage for it and making an area for it.
@@apacksjourney thank you so much! I’ve been doing a lot of research because we are wanting to switch out dog’s kibble, so I will have to check this one out!
First off thank you so much for watching and commenting! It means a lot! We own all of our pets. However fostering is something I want to do in the future! We love giving back ☺️
I just found you today and i noticed how well trained your dogs are, do you have a tutorial to train them, or did you hire someone to train them? I have a great pyrennes mix puppy which is 3 months old and he bites stuff he takes stuff, he never listens
I train all my dogs myself I have been training dogs since I was 8 years old. I can totally make a video on any questions you have though :) your puppy right now is just that. No puppy at 3 months is going to listen lower your expectations and start with one thing at a time
I’m very fortunate to run my own business, I’m able to take my dogs with me and come and go as I please :) I take two to three dogs with me a day my husband also works from home so they always are out in the yard and such if they don’t come to work.
Sadly they both passed away from genetical complications about a year ago. I don’t recommend minks as pets they rarely make it to their first birthday :/
Great video! I would look more into rabbit care, I have had one of my own and they the pet stores do not give good information on how your supposed to take care of them. Rabbits need a lot of space to jump and run
Please stay tuned we have a farm we are building a house on plus having custom enclosures built for all of our pets. We should be done in 3 months! My channel is so new It’s hard to know the direction I’m going here 😆
Even keel exotics, I would recommend that you do research on minks and how they are bred. In a future video I’m going to talk about minks and how unsuspecting buyers are unaware of serious genetic problems they have. The mink man has a book that explains this but I wasn’t aware until it was too late. My advice buy a black mink :/
Well I certainly hope that I never have to deal with that. But if I got there in time I would just open the crates for them. Not that if they weren’t in crates and there was a fire that it would really do much if your weren’t home they still wouldn’t be able to get out 🤷♀️ it’s a good question though lol
Just some tips I would recommend maybe getting a room were your bunny could free roam because that’s is a bit to small. The pet room would be good if you moved some things around!💜
We are in the process of building a bunny yard for outside time. But we do floor time everyday for clover so he actually roams the bedrooms for hours a day :)
ApacksJourney That’s good..... but you probably already know this but the bunny still can’t be in the hutch at all because it’s just to small. And again you probably know this but don’t keep your bunny outside. I mean this in the nicest way possible I would recommend maybe watching some of Lennon the bunny because you can learn a lot a of proper care and how to give your little bunny the best life it can live!💜💜
No we won’t keep him outside I meant like a play yard for outside supervised time :) I actually hate that hutch I ordered it thinking it was bigger only had it a few months :/
So all my animals get time in the afternoon to have what I call floor time whether that be outside or inside. As for my rabbit we usually let him roam the house at night until bed or feed time. The majority of my dogs are spayed and neutered I only have two that are not neutered. My chihuahua crown and Joker are the only ones, crown will be neutered in an upcoming video and joker will remain the only intact male. As for the the horses Tuff is 8 and peanut is 15 :)
I know it’s like a year later but why are you not going to neuter joker just wondering love this video though I have 5 pets not a lot compared to you 😂I used to have 14 but I couldn’t take care of them all so I got them new home I now have a 6 month old kitten named Bella and 6 year old cat named daisy there outdoor but Bella likes to come inside when it’s bad weather but daisy doesn’t like inside so ye I also have two rabbits who are free roamed upstairs in my house named Salem and willow and I have a hamster in the spare room in my house so ye it’s been so much easier since I gave away some of my pets
Pet foxes aren't legal in all states, it varies from state to state. In Florida you have to apply for a Class three wild life permit to own one which comes with regulations on enclosure size etc. As far as the other question lol its really depends on the breeds of dogs and your yard size. we have 9 yes our home is small but We have an acre of just yard :) We also plan on moving up north really soon!
Your dogs are so adorable! Though I want to make a few comments as a soon to be dog nutritionist. My recommendation is when you buy kibble don’t dump it all in the box keep the bag it came with because what it does is the food will oxidize and plastic can get in the food as well. Second, in my opinion though your vet might have suggested purina pro plan, that food is not as good as you think. You see the food contains corn and other carbs and gluten that your dog will not thrive off of and has meat that has been processed and died other than by slaughtered meaning it died from a disease. It’s called whatever (meat it is) by product. If I were you what would be best is to get them off that kibble and go for something with less gluten/carbs and meat meals and by product or air dried food.
I completely agree with everything you said. I have so many though that it gets very costly to feed a better quality food. As far as the container again since I have so many I go through a lot of food so it doesn’t stay in the plastic long! Thank you so much for your feedback 😉
I would totally do that however minks love to swim and they will try to do that in the bowl lol causing water to go all over the floor. We are moving soon and she will have her own outdoor enclosure where she can do that all she wants 😆
@@apacksjourney yeah, our ferrets splash in their bowl too but we just kinda learned to deal with it 😅 they'll be so stinkin cute when they can run around and splash outside! Pleaaaase make a video of that!
Hi!!!! Listen I’m not hateing or anything I’m a huge fan of you, but you could put their names on the bowls and maybe it would make it easier, sorry if it was rude I just wanted to see if it would make it easier. Love your videos
I used to have ceramic bowls that were all different for each one but they were so bulky and heavy. I can use sharpie but it will rub off eventually. Have any ideas? And thank you for being a fan 🧡🧡
Crown at this point is food aggressive but will back down to the other dogs if they want to steal his food so we feed him in his crate for everyone’s safety :)
Also, I did not just get home in this video. I had brought the dogs from outside and set everyone up to start filming. Not every aspect is caught during filming. Also I own a business I can be home as much as I want with my dogs :)
I dont know if you changed your bunnies cage or not, but rabbits should not be drinking from water bottles, it’s because they are not used to drinking that way, so its recommended to make your bun’s cage a bit bigger ( _if possible_ ) and put bowls (make sure its not too deep) so its more neutral for them to drink. :) - a bunny owner
