OMG Mrs V, they see me now and they come a running with them screaming out there lil meep meep meeps they follow me around the yard, i was in the garden last night with 8 little helpers fishing for worms when i turned the soil lol.

I have 2 chickens who greet me at the backdoor most mornings for a feed and its a lovely start to the day - and they come running to the gate when i get home from work of and afternoon - I love them! i dont love them dropping 'bomb's' on the back door step though haha
Alexandra Herbert yes the poo bombs are not a nice gift left, i have to hose down my court yard part at the end of each day because i don't want to walk duck poop in the house, i stepped in one the other day i had no shoes on, while i am sitting on the ground trying to wash my feet in the sun, around the corner of the house came the ducklings, they was pushing and shoving at me to play in the water i ended up saturated and had to take my clothes off before going inside. trying to do that without the neighbours seeing was an art ha ha ha. so with a back yard nudie run and poop free feet, the ducks had the time of there life.
sorry hon you should never feed ducks bread as it can cause angel wing deformity plus any uneaten bread on the ground can grow mould or can cause ducks to ingest mud if near muddy ground which can cause them to get C. botulinum disease this can cause paralysis. Other than that bread is not nutritional for them you are actually better feeding them things like peas. Try some seedless, halved grapes, as well sunflower seeds, cucumber, beans, broccoli, beets, squash, flowers, alfalfa, tomatoes, eggplant, bananas (no peel), pineapple, pomegranate seeds or scrambled eggs even.
bread is not the only thing they get from my house, they get a variety of stuff, but they are not pet ducks they are wild ducks, my bread is home baked and not from a store. the mother duck from this set of ducklings got run over by a car, the remaining ducklings that were huddled around there dead mother in the middle of the road; I ushered off the road and into my front yard, they camped out under my deck and I raised them.
