I work at a pet store, we sell "water dogs" which are Juvenile Tiger salamanders (just in case others do not know XD) I explain this to ALL of my customers but I am not the only one who works at the store. Long story short- one of my coworkers thought they were Axolotls and told a customer that. The customer came back months later with a Tiger Salamander FURIOUS. He said he was going to toss the Salamander if we didn't take it back. The same coworker took it back and PLOPPED IT INTO THE GOLDFISH AQUARIUM- which, YOU GUESSED IT. The Salamander escaped and was gone for an ENTIRE week. I was only told about the Salamander the day after we had taken it back in and that's how I knew of its escape. This SAME COWORKER was taking out the trash and LOW and behold he saw something squirming in the LINT and DUST. yep- the Tiger Salamander- so guess who now has a tiger Salamander? that's right- me, and their name is Pachooli and he is the BEST accidental pet I ever had. I have had them for 4 months now.
Why did the customer buy the salamander if they didnt want it, knowing it was an axolotl (was it sold when it was an egg? Cause if yes that explains all)

His size and bites might seem intimidating... but his THICCness, grumpy-looking face, and bold personality are just the perfect combination of cuteness to me x3 I'm definitely gonna get an African bullfrog in the future! Update: I finally got myself a female! And despite her much smaller size, she still freaks the hell out of me during cleaning and feeding time lol
Oh, salamanders are such adorable derpy guys! I handle tiger salamanders at work, and, just like yours, they think everything is food. Move your finger near their face? Chomp! Return one salamander to the enclosure? Others try to eat his tail. I love their little faces. Thanks for sharing yours!
I love the amphibians, when I had toads I used to love giving them the small moths from old wax worms and seeing them leaping around trying to catch them in their enclosure, I don't know if it was safe in hindsight, but the toads seemed to be having a great time
Emily: **posts at 11:45pm** Me: **still awake because it’s my friend’s birthday tomorrow and I want to be the first one to say happy birthday** Also, I’m raising tadpoles and I’m *hoping* that my parents will let me keep one or two of them when they grow up. I’m pretty sure they’re American toads.
Feeding my American Toads is always an interesting time... they aren't the brightest, but they're SO cute! 😀 Thanks for the tip about touching their front feet, I'll try that on their next feeding!
@@evthespineconfiscator8652 Yes it did! Although I do think they were a little irritated that something was touching their feet, and were biting at the food because of that. Either way though, they ate! 👍👍
One of my favorite parts about these videos is the captions for the animals or whatever u call them “ dang gurl, u has god appetite” “ u share plz?” “ NO”
I have said this before but I absolutely love Emily's personality, the way she talks about her pets is so enthusiastic the viewer can't help but excited too. THANK U SOOOOOO MUCH FOR HAVING THIS CHANNEL!!
I don't want to sound mean, but since your profile picture says "Help me hit 1,500 subs" and your name does too, I think you're just trying to be nice to people so they feel like they need to subscribe to you. I've seen this alot
I also have a gray tree frog named jamie she eats almost all the crickets I have 2 other frogs in her enclosure and I have to give them food elsewhere or she will eat it all lol
Omg lol I was just watching one of ur herping videos when u posted this, and I clicked fast too Edit: ooh can u also feed ur hognose snakes? Those are the best kind, and I’m totally not being biased because I’m about to adopt hognose lol
Ahhh, this reminds me of the Osaka aquarium! In the first section of the aquarium, there dwell a series of toads and things which resemble an enormous, angry pancake. I was able to point out this appearance in very crude Japanese to a nice Japanese lady and she laughed and laughed! I would recommend giving it a visit- there are long queues to the aquarium sometimes and we were serenaded by a lovely local jazz band when we went!
I got to experience the joy of meeting Thomas at the facility the week after Christmas! :D Abby was questioning if he would eat for us during the tour, to which I responded "The real question is when WON'T an Amphibian eat for you?"
I think I remember that you have Axolotls. I'd LOVE to see you feeding them or any other aquatic amphibians you have. Maybe just a group of your aquatic animals?
I’m pretty sure I found one of those tiger salamanders (or some other type of big salamander. It took up my whole hand) in newyork at my friends house in the driveway. It was late and some guy said he was gonna step on it and I was like “NO ABSOLUTELY NOT, OVER MY DEAD BODY. It’s a living creature, how could you just step on it?” So not knowing if it was poisonous or not, I scooped it up with my sleeve and set it in the woods. I think I still have the picture of it. I wish I could show you so I can figure out what kind it is
My little arrow frog can eat a surprising amount. He has springtails in his tank as well as the fruit flies I add in every few days. Every morning when I must his tank and the fruit flies go crazy he comes out and just starts to chow down lol he's small and fast so it's fun to watch him hop around his tank like a mad frog. He also has plants and stuff in the tank to hide in so it's fun trying to spot him
Emily is just so sweet. Just started watching this channel, and I love how knowledgeable she is! My girls love watching with me, even girls can play with bugs and snakes and frogs! It’s not just for boys !
I’m lame, I’d love to see a feeding routine video of y’all prepping food and then feeding everyone that is scheduled for a meal that day. The whole process, as someone who doesn’t own reptiles, is fascinating to me.
Ooooh I'm early! Great video by the way, haven't watched it yet but know it's going to be AWESOME! Oh one question what do you think is the best beginner reptile in general? I would love to get into reptiles but don't know the best one. Thanks in advance if you reply or are able to help. Love your channel!
As my first reptile I got a created gecko! I highly recommend because they are pretty easy to take care of and though it is good to vary their diet, they don’t have to eat live food.
Ball pythons make great beginner reptiles in my opinion since they are typically good eaters, and don’t usually have a bad attitude unless they aren’t properly socialized.
Either way do plenty of research. And when you think you've done enough, do some more, is all I can advise. Having a pet is a privilege not a right and I really wish more people saw it that way (not saying you don't, I just saw a lot of bs on craigslist again today, jaded level: 1000 just about right now). All suggestions so far are seconded, they are all fun animals that don't have the most complex setups and proper husbandry *should* be easily learned. Enjoy
Thank you all of you for the advice! It is really helpful. I will be sure to do lots of research and make sure I will be able to give the future animal the best life it can have!
What do you use to add the subtitles? Very appreciative of that touch, I'm hard of hearing and while I usually have no issues with your videos it was nice to see the subtitles!
The largest frog is such a chunk of cuteness. He acts like he is being given either the first meal he’s had for weeks or the last meal he will ever have. My youngest daughter has a Weiner dog who eats the exact same way. You literally have to watch your fingers when hand feeding him.
THE TREE FROG WAS SOOO CUUUTE! My suggestion for a 'group' of animals to feed, all the animals with 'human' names! Brad, Loki, Houdini, that sort of thing.
I recently rescued a African Clawed Frog from a super bad situation and he is the sweetest thing it takes a while to get him to eat since he's basically blind but he has a great appetite very interesting animal to read about
I think they do. I have a pixie as well and after he eats a big worm, he usually has to take a moment to do a big gulp to shove them down into his stomach. But it’s happens in the wild all the time with any animal that eats bugs, so we’re not doing it just because.
I have an axolotl and he’s just…amazing. He’s so smart. He responds to his name, absolutely loves people, and gives kisses. And it’s not cuz he’s hungry. He gets a cube of bloodworms every 2-3 days and even right after feeding he’ll be looking for attention. He loves being petted, he’ll sit in his tank and let me rub his head with my finger. He’s just an absolute treasure.
I saw your vlog on making jewelry and decided I had to make some, had to use E6000 for the glue though, cause I couldn’t find the diamond glaze anywhere but online. Love it! Thank you so much for the tips and making that vlog! Now my children and I always have something to remember our Christian(hypoberry cornsnake) with.
I have a grey tree frog. My mom found him in the warehouse of her job. His name is Lazer. They are such fun frogs. Especially when you get them "talking". With mine, if you purr at him enough, he will croak back at you. It's very entertaining
Emily and Ed are literally the sweetest people, I won’t own any of these animals but just cannot stop watching your channel 😂😂 been years now! You guys rock!
Frogs are such goofy animals, every time they eat anything it looks like their entire body is shutting down, and they sometimes miss the food entirely.
