Did anyone else notice that 'sandwich' on the counter behind Emily when she's setting up that first tank? A whole jar of mayo between two slices of bread and a container of something else on top?
Wrong orientation for them to be doing that in this video. So definitely was a Shorts compilation. And personally a despise Shorts so I hope they never go that route
It is common for tadpoles to cannibalize their siblings but it's kind of a good thing because if all of those eggs were to hatch there be hundreds of frogs which would probably crash the ecosystem
Aawww! When I was a kid, my mom had a pond in our backyard, and I remember one year toads laid eggs. I was SO excited, watching them go from tadpoles to froglets. This video reminds me the joy of that summer.
I know you probably won’t see this but I have a freezing cold pond and it is summer I have 1 tree frog and 1 toad and like 50 tadpoles the water is from our hose and it’s like -65 degrees I don’t have any food for them they are eating algae off of my rocks. They get like 2 hours of sun light a day, They are so happy at my home and I am happy that I have them!
This was too cool I’ve never watched a tadpole turn to a frog! Lol I just never thought of it after seeing it in books in school until now I’m so going to be doing a deep dive on this one I see it coming! This was a very cool transition to watch!
i will say, we dont raise frogs on PURPOSE but theres a wild frog that lives under our windowsill that gets a wife each year and lays eggs in our hot tub (hot tub is broken down and totally reclaimed by algae and stuff, totally safe for them) and NOTHING brings me more joy then having the tiny itty bitty baby frogs slowly make their way out of the tub throughout the season! they're used to me coming over and checking on them so by the time they're coming out they're willing to jump on me and investigate before going back to the tub. best part of the entire summer for me!
Lol I mean they produce something that looks like milk. I’m not sure you want to drink it tho, it might not feel good lol. (They produce a white milky substance that is poisonous in defence)
I loved this video!!! I hope to see your zoo some day, but since I'm from Canada that gets kind of tricky... I'm still deticated to going there!! Keeps it up, and work hard to reach your dreams, officially owning a complete reptile zoo!!!
My dad had an empty pool that had little puddles of rainwater A frog decided it would be the perfect place to lay eggs so we had to wait for the pool But on the bright side we had a _lot_ of frogs And then I caught a huge bullfrog tadpole at my local pond with well formed legs which was super cool
Hey Emily! I haven't yet managed to convince my mum to get a snake, but I've convinced her to a milk frog! I'm open for name suggestions and the most like reply I will name it that.
Hi u prob wont see this but we have just found a TON of frog eggs in our pool and we have no idea how long they’ve been there for (estimate 2days-1week) and have a question Is it possible for them to survive and hatch even after living in chlorine (if it helps we are pretty sure they are green tree frogs) Update for anyone wondering they survived they hatched a day after however the two big ones ate all the small ones so it went from 60 tadpoles down to 2
@@UrFavF4tty the fact the big ones ate all the small ones, it’s something when baby frogs use hormones to manipulate their younger siblings into not growing immediately and them after when there is no food or just get hungry eating them.
I find it hilarious when the tadpoles have no front legs one minute, and then an hour later they have two full front legs. I completely freaked out when my Pacific Chorus Frogs spontaneously popped their front legs within an hour :)
Gosh, this made me think of a scifi book I read as a kid. Dang, what was it called? A kid inherits an alien 'puppy', that starts growing very quickly. One day, he's giving a good scratch and front legs pop out, scaring the heck out of him. Turned out the puppy was a missing alien queen, who says she's been raising 'john thomases'. lol. I wonder if I can find that book again.
My frog got his front limb stuck under the skin. For like two days he swam lopsided and you could see the limb trying to move under the skin. Terrified me until I woke up one morning and he was fine.
"Come on Stephanie, you can do it!" If I didn't see the video, I would have thought this was child birth lol Edit- I get it, Its kinda childbirth ok?😥😓😔 lol
And have all the stages labeled with Roman numerals and then a key with the names of the stages at the bottom. Made to look like illustrations from a text book.
Tadpoles tend to produce a hormone in the water to inhibit their siblings growth. In the wild these siblings often will become food for their larger siblings if they get hungry enough. Tis why you saw differential growth. I raised wood frog tadpoles three years in a row and it was sooo fun!
I hate it when poop feels like legs... Look I know it's TMI, but I have chronic illnesses that cause chronic gastric problems, and if I didn't laugh I'd cry, so humour me...please?
It’s an honest problem though. I raised tadpoles for food for my frog (he won’t eat anything else but the fully legged ones) and the confusion is real.
I really love this kind of video where we can see things that took very long in a little video like this! I know these kinds of videos take a lot of work, and I just want you to know that your work is very much appreciated! I’ve been an avid snake discovery watcher for almost as long as you’ve been making videos
i remember when i was in grade one my teacher had some tadpoles in a aquarium and over the year they started to become frogs literally the coolest thing to a first grader
When I was in preschool, there was a terrarium inside the classroom with caterpillars in it. For pre-school me, it was so cool to watch them turn into cocoons and then butterflies. When we released them, I managed to get one of them to sit on my finger for a whole minute before it flew away. Good times!
I have a kid pool in the yard for my beardie, that got left out, filled with leaves n now serves as a small pond for the frogs. When I noticed tadpoles at the beginning of summer I wondered what to feed them; wound up getting fish flakes n they go crazy for it. They all come to the top, you can see them nibbling away, totally cute!
Tadpole evolution process: Egg Tiny blob with a tail Less tiny blob with a tail Even less tiny blob with a tail Weird blorp with two legs Still a weird blorp with two legs Boom! Frog
You can tell when they took a looong time on a video lol just from the beginning I noticed the start of it was the week after soft opening. I love how they are truly putting in the time and effort to make quality videos! I love watching videos with snakes hatching, especially Hognoses and Bullsnakes. (They are my favorites)
Yeah bullfrog tadpoles take about 2 yeahs to become frogs, they get pretty big after a year, though! (Or not, I was 7 or 8 when I found a year old on in my man made pond.)
@@SnakeDiscovery I was just wondering what happened with them! I'm glad they're still working on it! Hopefully they make good pets for someone one day.
