I did a PPP loan for our church, we lost the ability to worship in person, in theory we should have reduced staff, but we used PPP to keep staff on payroll. After close to a year we started worshipping in person, only now, at the two year mark is attendance and charitable giving back to “normal”. I would argue the PPP was needed by many. The custodian, office assistant, book keeper would have been first to see hours cut or position eliminated, these are the most vulnerable financially. This was repeated by many PPP recipients. The downstream of these people getting paid was groceries, utilities, gas, rent, etc being paid. Would have been ugly without that program. Like all government programs you will find worthy who were excluded , as well as included who could have survived without.

This is particularly disturbing. Those fortunate enough to earn a stay as a government guest, should be mandated to pay rent for their imprisonment (& related accommodations). *_TRUST !!_*

Perhaps the federal government should not have taken the money from the people in the first place. Perhaps letting the people and the state of Minnesota determine how to take care of their own would be more cost effective. Somehow paying federal workers to take money from the people of Minnesota, then paying another group of federal workers, USDA to be so disconnected from the people of Minnesota that they pay for more meals that there are children, only then needing to enlist the support of at least three more federal government agencies, FBI, USPS and US Attorneys Office to have to work for months and months and months to find out that a portion of that money has been sent out of the country. Then fly all the federal employees to Minnesota where they all vigorously thank each other for basically doing the job they were hired to do while being paid by the taxpayers. But it seems you want audits. Comical but ok.

No audits necessary or possible, the system was designed to be defrauded and they'll catch groups of nobodies here and there that stole $250,000,000 but never catch the people sealing 20x, 100x that amount. I have a friend who works for the SBA and they are handicapped heavily on what information they can ask for even when they strongly suspect someone of fraud. It's like allowing mail in voting and not allowing even signature verification. It isn't just easy to cheat, at very best it is an attractive nuisance that invites in people prone to cheating, more likely it is a smokescreen placed there intentionally to cover the officials in charge bleeding the taxpayers dry.
